Mosca - Bax
Bax is back. First released in 2011, Mosca’s UKG homage, ‘Bax’, did big things when it landed. Almost 10 years on, it’s time for a repress.
Though Mosca missed the golden era of garage in the nineties, he caught on to darkside pioneers such as Horsepower Productions, Benny Ill and El-B later on. A blend of homegrown British styles lies at the core of his electronic music influences, early dubstep, jungle, minimal grime and bassline, which he’d experienced first-hand at Sheffield’s legendary Niche club. (Little known fact: The name Bax is a partial nod to Steve Baxendale, the man behind Niche).
All these elements coalesced in the studio and the two-tracker materialised in a couple of days. Both sides of the record do their thing on the floor; ‘Bax’ with its now infamous ‘My DJ is live in the place’ sample, that earworm melody and a ruffneck b-line.
On the flip ‘Done Me Wrong’ sees Mosca incorporate several key garage tropes; the bassline swinging alongside soulful vocals (which get sliced and diced), not forgetting that cheeky rewind.

Delving deep in to his dub chamber, Mosca delivers a pair of upfront rhythms for Livity Sound. 'Don't Take..' hits hard, it's whiplash groove fine tuned for maximum dance floor impact. By contrast 'Peyote Stitch' takes a deeper approach, it's hazy spectral visions sat atop low slung drums in trademark Mosca style.

‘I'd been thinking about starting a label for a few years but it never really seemed like it could work. Nowadays there's more coherence in my productions it seems like the right time. I'll be releasing music from other artists as well my own stuff - underground house, techno and the rest, stuff with darkness and sexiness. Hopefully it's music that will speak to (somebody's) heart as well as their feet. The first release is called No Splice No Playback and it's two tracks of house music. Vinny (Flamingo) is a basement thing, Suckle (Twenties) works in warehouses too. Thanks for reading.

he next release on Hypercolour is a rather large one that has been pursued for a while: an EP from multi-genre explorer, 3024/Numbers alumni and all round badman Tom Reid aka Mosca. Across four tracks and one digital bonus, the pioneering producer offers up his own unique view of house music.
Somewhat appropriating his game to fit with the utterly modern club vibes of Hypercolour, opening track ?Eva Mendes? is a bouncy house track through and through. It?s a fulsome, cantering arrangement peppered with typically well designed hits, a subtle breakdown and plenty of neon colour come the second half? classy floor filling business, to be sure. Next track ?Accidentally? has legendary house vocalist Robert Owens contributing a sometimes
dark, sometimes more sensuous spoken word monologue to Mosca?s glitchy, warehouse styled beats and bubbling, scattered synth work: it?s muscular in make up but human in spirit and you also get a voiceless dub version on the digi release. More

Mosca, - Tilt Shift
Very limited, hand stamped vinyl release of Julio Bashmore & Swing Ting remixes of Mosca’s “Tilt Shift”. Julio Bashmore ups the tempo, warming the track whilst adding extra subs. With clever twists & frills he brings the track into new areas in a typically understated fashion. Swing Ting are DJs Samrai & Platt, so called after their club of the same name which is one of Manchetser’s most forward thinking underground monthly gatherings. They provide an instantly effective blend of grime, garage & bassline with both their vocal & dub versions. Their remixes display their deep understanding of these styles. With the vocal version they cooly chop the rhythms into a ruff dance floor workout while the dub takes things deeper & dreadier, finding natural space in the groove & rocking a pure sound system rinse out. Support has come from all over including Marcus Nasty, Mosca, Wifey Crew & Simbad

franklin de costa - Purple Train
New sounds from an old friend... I'd been running Franklin De Costa's records for years, but after I played for his party in Berlin a few years back we kept in touch. He runs a club night called Mother's Finest which puts on artists like Tessela, Truss, Untold, DJ Fett Burger and more, as well as releasing singles under his own name on labels like Killekill and Curle, and, as Mudkid, beautiful tracks on Greta Cottage Workshop. The three trax built for this EP on Not So Much are, like anything fresh and futuristic, hard to pin down in words. SSSooo is a kind of detuned chattering b-boy cut that slides sideways between dimensions while always driving forward. MLDK is another one for any dancers with moves. It's tension-heavy, dubby basement shit with an almost spoken/sung synth line providing the dread and at the same time, a sense of class. Both MDLK and SSSooo have a playful side too, a knowing kind of sultriness, if that makes sense - but the rhythms are tight and efficient. Purple Train on the other hand is loose as anything, and ramps up the narcotic sexiness in a groove for afterhours sessions. I don't want to describe it as sex, drugs and rollers, but this is kind of writing itself. With this one, the dub is wise, the time is forgotten and the wrongness is righteous. FDC is the second outside artist (after Samuel/Ploy) to release on the label, and I'm really happy that the family is finally growing - all the waiting and all the declined demos have paid off. There are more releases from more artists in the pipeline, some you'll have heard of, and some fresh blood too. Thanks for reading and listening! Mosca

Two productions for today's dancefloors from Samuel. These are rough and rugged club tracks built from hardened rubber, with plenty of rhythm and a melancholy edge, and they don't sound like anything else. This is the first time I've released another artist's music on Not So Much and honestly, I can't think of a better way of doing it. I'm very proud and very excited. Thanks for reading and listening, Mos.

OVERVIEW
For its 303rd release, Tresor Records is glad to present a commissioned work by Donato Dozzy.
Rome based production maestro and DJ extraordinaire Donato Dozzy is unanimously considered as an illustrious
leading light in all techno artforms.
Along his long career and extensive discography, Dozzy has proven to use his instruments most interesting ways,
always re-inventing his music, always presenting new approaches to both the deeper and the more rhythmic
forms of electronic music. It was self-evident to Tresor Records to enroll Donato Dozzy’s talents for this
assignment, a nod to the seminal Roland TB-303 bass synthesizer.
The result is a relentless collection of radical, propulsive and bleeding-heart acid tracks. In Dozzy’s words.
Donato Dozzy wishes to dedicate this work to his lifelong friend Filo.

candi station - Hallelujah Anyway (FK's Director's Cut Signature Praise 12" Edit)
Following the 7” revisiting Candi Staton’s much-loved gospel anthem, this Glitterbox Recordings 12” features four diverse remixes of ‘Hallelujah Anyway’, three of which are new to vinyl. Kicking off with Larse’s Vocal mix, touching deeper territory with a mid-tempo house rendition, Dr Packer’s indulgent piano-littered mix is next, picking up the energy and re-introducing the disco beat. Italian producer Moplen delivers a 90s-influenced Classic Club Vibe mix, maximising Candi’s uplifting vocal. Finally is FK’s Director’s Cut Signature Praise 12” Edit, a Frankie Knuckles and Eric Kupper production which is available here on vinyl for the very first time. Picking up the pace with soaring synths and a grooving beat, the mix takes the anthem firmly back to the dancefloor, compelled by the original song’s call for jubilation. Four must-hear mixes from Glitterbox, breathing fresh energy into this timeless record.

Following the re-release of Drexciya’s essentials 'Neptune's Lair', 'Hydro Doorways', 'Harnessed The Storm' and
'Digital Tsunami', the reissue series continues with Transllusion’s ‘Opening Of The Cerebral Gate’ and the
‘Mind Over Positive And Negative Dimensional Matter’ 12” coming on February 10th 2023.
Produced by the late James Marcel Stinson and released in 2001 via Supremat, a short-lived sub-label Tresor
dedicated to a more abstract and experimental electro sound, ‘The Opening Of The Cerebral Gate’ was conceived as the second part of the so-called Drexciyan Storms – a whopping stack of seven albums by the
Detroit pair released under dierent monikers within a single year. This phase marks a groundbreaking time
for the duo, their cosmos breaking wide open, right at the dawn of a new technological era in electronic music
production. All this is deeply reflected in Transllusion’s first album. This phase marks a groundbreaking time for

The next issue in the on-going Mastermix series features a centerpiece of Frankfurt’s club history: Wild Pitch Club.
A predecessor to the esteemed Robert Johnson and a stepping stone for Panorama Bar’s very own nd_baumecker.
Founded by Playhouse masterminds Ata and the late Heiko M/S/O it was a Thursday club night that heavily featured house music as a prescription to the ongoing techno fever. Enamored with the US-American roots of it and all things deep, it not only presented the right records, but also their creators and protagonists. With a string of guest DJs from Robert Hood and Claude Young to Kerri Chandler and Theo Parrish as well as talent from the UK and Europe, it was one of the culture’s hubs at the time.
Here you have its testimony. Selected and mixed by Ata and nd_baumecker, it’s an authentic snapshot of the club’s vibe and spirit, spread over two 2x12” volumes, a collectable tape (download included) and a pleasant streaming version, it’s the full dosage. Like Roach Motel confessed: Wild Pitch, I love you.

Riva Starr x Todd Terry - Creators (Acidapella) (Vinyl Only)
Italian-born artist Riva Starr collaborates with New York-based DJ and producer Todd Terry on This Is The Sound. Previously, the pair have remixed each other’s solo productions, but their joint project on Hot Creations signifies a new beginning for the acclaimed producers. Together, the pair bring Riva’s vision to life on the title track, weaving a classic-house-tinged melody with crisp claps, penning an irresistible groove. Peak-time in every sense of the word. Riva Starr serves his solo offering on Creator, evoking a darker vibe. Chugging drums thump between a squelchy acid melody, paying homage to the birth of acid house in the late 80s, chopped with more contemporary textures. Based in East London, Riva Starr’s roots lie in Naples, Italy. Having moved to London in 2008, Riva immersed himself in the UK tech house scene, playing across the country in Printworks, Motion, and Orange Yard to further afield in Pacha, Watergate and Space Miami. As a multi-dynamic producer, Riva’s discography boasts remixes of work by Dennis Ferrer, Fatboy Slim, and Claptone and solo releases on Defected, Black Book Records and his own Snatch!Records imprint. Grammy Award-nominated artist Todd Terry is a stalwart on the global house scene, breaking through in the mid-90s with the classic house heater “Keep on Jumpin” ft. Martha Wash and Jocelyn Brown. Since then, Todd has produced a colossal body of work on Defected, Inhouse, Freeze Records and several others, keeping his sound aligned with his New York heritage and reinventing it with a fresh flavour.

Robohands - Relax
Robohands, aka Andy Baxter, joins the Bastard Jazz family with a new EP titled "Giallo." Partly inspired by Italian Giallo (meaning "yellow") film soundtracks of the late 70s and 80s, as well as the experimental sounds of pioneering krautrock bands like Tangerine Dream and NEU! Armed with an old Juno 60 synthesizer, Andy wrote, recorded, and mixed all the parts himself, including the live drums, adding in multiple layers of effects. Spread across 8 tracks, "Giallo" spans atmospheric meditations ("Giallo;" "Claws;" "Relax") to jazzy improvisational explorations ("Fear"), interwoven with brief solo instrumental tapestries ("Horror;" "Float By Like Clouds;" "For the Different"). There is an elegant cinematic quality to the EP, further refined by Robohands' production prowess and technical chops. "Giallo" builds on the Robohands sound, taking it in an exciting, more experimental direction.

The MUSHROOM HOUSE compilation is a collection of balearic, afro and cosmic tracks that have been released on Toy Tonics EPs over the last 5 years. Original tracks and remixes by friends of the label: Auntie Flo, Rebolledo, Hyenah, Daniel Avery, WhoMadeWho & DJ Koze, Munk … and there is also legendary italian cosmic DJ Baldelli featured.
All these tracks are exclusively produced for Toy Tonics. A few had been already released before on Gomma records. The now sleeping indie-electronica label that was the „mother“ of Toy Tonics. It’s fun to see that these tracks seem not to get old. They sound still fresh and ace. Like the DJ Koze remix of WhoMadeWho or Munk’s Nigerian Jam. Now they all come together on double vinyl. Vinyl comes Including the new 60 page TOY TONICS MAGAZINE no 1.

Jonny Rock - B
At the helm for our sixth Gottwax release, is edit maestro, Jonny Rock. Jonny Rock delivers two eclectic, dance floor driven gems which will no doubt firmly secure themselves in many a DJ’s record bag. Already in the hands of some prestigious selectors, this limited press white label is not one to be slept on for the true collector. Illusively named A1, the first track on the EP showcases Jonnys canny sampling ability. Playing with familiar sounds to create a unique and elating edit, Jonny shows us why he’s one of the best around. B1 is a sordid late night roller, primed and ready to shake up the underground dance floors. DJs will wanna keep this one on the back burner. We’re excited to put this out, and honoured to have Jonny Rock on the release.

Debut album Blind at The Age of Four is the first full-scale entry into the anachronistic world of Jack Warne's GAUNT - a world of music, technological experimentation and visual art that has been building since his days at the Royal College of Art, where he first began to combine his talents as a designer and visual artist. Following early releases ETB I&II and 'Raw Cartoon' (which featured on Leon Vynehall's fabric Presents compilation), Blind at The Age of Four is a bold and audacious introduction. The album is built from ever-shifting loops of experimental electronics and accompanied by surreal, uncanny visuals, all created by Warne through both analogue and new technology, across augmented reality, 3D Rendering, drawing and digital painting techniques. This is all bound together in a digitally rendered suit of Armour.
"GAUNT is the empty vessel" the producer and fine artist explains of his simultaneously modern and mediaeval avatar. "The GAUNT character is the haunting of the music. It's a visual embodiment of the cathartic process I get out of music. That's why it's a suit of armour, because something needs to go into it; you put it on."

Dames Brown ft. Waajeed - Glory (Floorplan Remix)
Dames Brown continue to build upon their Defected success with this three-track vinyl package, featuring remixes from two highly respected house selectors. May 2023’s release of ‘Glory’ with Dirt Tech Reck label founder Waajeed saw the uplifting track spotlighted by BBC Radio 6’s Craig Charles, capturing the effervescence of the Dames on his flagship show. Experience the extended version of ‘Glory’ on wax for the first time, in addition to Chicago pioneer Kelly G.’s Dancing Dub Club Mix, a previously unheard wax exclusive built on a distinctive, dancefloor ready 4x4 kick. On the B-side, fresh from their double release on Classic Music Company that received major BBC Radio 1 attention, ‘We Give Thee Honor / Makes Me Wanna’, the soulful innovators Floorplan lend their unmistakeable brand of eclectic, gospel house to ‘Glory’ for a match-made-in-heaven remix that celebrates the two neighbouring genres of soul and gospel.
