D2. Open Door (Gerd Remix) 08:51
Release Info:
In certain circles, this is a record that would easily be called „eternal“. Back in 1996, when it was originally released, it sounded like nothing else - and still does. The sixth record of Frankfurt’s soon to be imperial Playhouse label and Losoul’s first outing on the label, it hot-wired many things at once: house and techno, US roots and European fruits, grittiness and wittiness, high tech funk, the expansion pf playtimes and the concept of minimalism in dance music. Elegance met effectiveness.
A composition that hooked you and also caused a stir elsewhere. Daniel Bell licensed it to his Elevate label and commissioned a very young Theo Parrish to remix it, Michel De Hey did the same with his EC Records and treatments by Gerd among others.
Here you finally get both of those carefully restored, remastered and reissued next to the originals. Amply placed on a double 12“, it also features the previously unreleased D1. Stemming from the same time and era as Open Door it rings and feels like a compact lost brother. Addictive as on the very first day and here to stay.

Losoul, whose real name is Peter Kremeier, has been one of the leading figures of legendary 90's and 00's German label Playhouse. He released numerous LPs and EPs during the last three decades, including underground hit "Open Door". He also appeared under the names "Silhouette Electronique" and "Don Disco". Belong, originally released in 2000, gathers nine titles of pure electronic music. From minimalistic house (Taste not Waste), through 90's trip hop (Sunbeams in the rain) all the way to more experimental endeavors (Late Play). The album also includes the track "Overland" which samples the bassline of Billie Jean by Michael Jackson in an eccentric and joyful way.Belong represents the 2000's musical turn, with its delicate, smart, minimal and emotionally groovy sound. A pioneering yet soulful layout of independent electronic music.

Losoul - Ghost Talk
2
Losoul - Idealist Jungle
Slices Of Life is proud to welcome LOSOUL with 2 timeless house groovers.
Losoul is without a doubt one of the more elusive legends of house music. Over the last 25 years he has been forging ahead expressing his own ideas of outstanding club music that not only satisfies the vibe of the dance floor but also takes risks, asks for interaction and demands personal exposure: energetic and ambivalent at the same time.
Since the mid nineties, when Losoul teamed up with the legendary Playhouse label crew, he has continuously developed and refined his characteristic style of house music that captures the essence of the groove while honoring the open spaces between. With this style he is still building bridges between the founders and the following generations of electronic music lovers. The extent of his mastery is evidenced through his comprehensive catalogue of releases on various imprints such as Logistic Rec., Hartchef, Hypercolour, Karat, Tardis and of course his own label Another Picture (founded in 2014).
The two distinctive tracks featured on this Slices Of Life release perfectly represent Losoul’s years of experiences in producing, technical developments and worldwide touring as DJ. Proving once again his particular skills and laid-back attitude yet sounding fresh and thrilling at the same time.
“Ghost Talk” is reminiscent of Losoul’s driving minimal productions of the ‘90s with its trippy atmosphere and spooky morphing voices. “Idealist Jungle” on the B-side leads us into a green, sweaty twilight zone, accompanied by continuously rolling beats and warm basslines.
Like most of Losoul’s productions “Ghost Talk” and “Idealist Jungle” evolve slowly and steadily build their energy over the long distance. Once started you are all at once captivated by the pulsing deep grooves and psychedelic atmospheres and locked into the seductive journey.

Losoul - Side Street Noise
2
Losoul - Passing Sun
2021 Repress
Tracklist:
A1. Side Street Noise B1. Passing Sun
Short info:
Next round for Another Picture. After exploring the highs in electricity and the lows of the deep grounds we go further into things. Sensing vibration of the fire below and turning it into a never-ending evolution of sound and groove. This is what you might know about Losoul tracks - and here you can't go wrong either. There are scattered artefacts of the city bringing vibe and inspiration - the streets, the people, the concrete, the action - it's all in between.
Then there's the ever-changing beauty of nature out there on a day to just leave things as they are. Soul, movement and emotion. Again Losoul gives a strong example of experience from his longterm career in house and techno production and performing. Two pieces of music timeless in many ways.
See you on the dancefloor. And everywhere else.

Short info:
Losoul returns to action with his first long player in almost ten years, and delivers a stunning collection of
compositions for the Hypercolour released “Island Time”.
Otherwise known as Peter Kremeier, the German producer has mesmerized us for many years with his organic
and emotive house music, largely released on the influential Playhouse label, but of late has seen him release
singles for Karat and Tardis Records, as well as his very own Another Picture label.
Fans of Losoul won’t be disappointed, as a diverse yet utterly familiar sound aesthetic pours out over the album’s
seven tracks in his own inimitable style. The jazzy broken beats of “Gold Tooth” shine with their micro-sample
chops, whilst “Mean Time” is a dense and dubby slow stomp, teasing the drums with space echo and injecting
sparse bass work where it matters. Inventive, spongy house grooves are delivered on “Boppin Lower” and
“Square Down Smoother” whilst the album closer, “Lava In You” is a master class in ambient sonics and
shimmering keys over a lo-fi swinging groove.
It’s been over 20 years since Losoul’s signature single “Open Door”, and the German producer continues to pour
out honest and rewarding music. More

losoul - Daddy, What's A Rise?
2
losoul - Time & Space
Tracklist 12”:
A1. Daddy, What’s A Rise?
B1. Time & Space
Short info:
Peter Kremeier, AKA Losoul, has always been an artist we’ve greatly admired here at Hypercolour, so it was a real thrill to
have him on the label back in 2014, and here we have an essential repress of the ‘Slowly Turning’ release. A huge catalogue
of eclectic, distinctive and funky music for labels like Playhouse, Moodmusic and Freak ‘n’ Chic, Losoul turns in two
exceptional tracks on this EP that were lapped up on the initial release.
‘Daddy, What’s A Rise?’ is classic Losoul; a heavy low slung groove never lets up, with micro disco stabs and distant vocal
snippets, looping round and round for over 10 minutes, but without ever standing still, the filtering and deft touches keep things
moving at just the right funky pace.
B side cut ‘Time & Space’ is a glitchy and dubbed out affair, a solid 4/4 beat underpins a myriad of delayed percussion and
panning synths, spatial effects and an incessant chord stab, head music for the heads indeed!
Selected DJ reactions
Troy Pierce (Items & Things) – Classic Losoul! Good stuff…
Josh Wink (Ovum) – dig the simplicity of Losoul’s tracks, groovin!
Jimpster (Freerange) – I’m a big fan of Losoul so dead happy to hear some new stuss, this is killer too, especially ‘Daddy’, defo playing this out a
lot
Ralph Lawson (2020 Vision) – Heavy as you would expect!
Will Saul (Aus) – Epic win!
Roman Fluegel – Great material by a true legend!
Midland – Very good, thanks
Roy Davis Jnr – Deadly groove!
Detroit Swindle – Classic Losoul, nice one
Ewan Pearson - Losoul is one of the great European house producers and doesn't seem to get the props that some of his peers get. This is as
usual a cut above - Daddy is more than a disco loop, and Time & Space is completely hypnotic.
Davide Squillace – Just fantastic, big fan of Losoul
Raresh (arpiar) – superb release, wow, thanks a lot!

losoul - Sparkling Please
Tracklist:
A Soda Island
B Sparkling Please
Short info:
For the sixth release on Tardis Records, label owners Eli Verveine and Oscar Schubaq proudly
present two tracks from the personal archives of Peter Kremeier a.k.a. Losoul, a man who has been
rocking dancefloors and enchanting listeners with his uniquely abstract and tripped-out take on
minimal house for two decades and counting. On the A-side, “Soda Island” hangs cut-up vocal stabs
over the last word in bone-dry, bass-heavy grooves. “Sparkling Please” on the flip starts out cheerfully
but then subtly mutates into spooked insectoid psychedelia anchored by crisp percussion and bass.
Drop either of these cuts at the right moment and watch the dancers lose their minds! Mastered and
cut by Stefan Betke at Scape Mastering. More

MARCO GOMES
Short Info: Marco Gomes is coming with a much personal and intimate album named " week ", as much as a real research on sounds and textures.
It's a day to day travel in which each element of the week, each day, with its particular soundscape, is part of an ensemble that expresses the complexity of emotions and the difficulties to catch the real life in its crudeness.
This album is kind of melancholic, it's hard to deny it, but it's not expressed in a naive or depressed language. Some dark sounds, industrial, are always balanced with melodic or harmonic elements.
Rhythms change along the pieces, the idea remains, in this kind of sharp and sweet poetry, in a kind of spiritual romanticism.
This quest of sound of structures is an existential investigation on the modern life through the prism of ruled time oppression versus sublimation of the machines.

10 years of hard work delivering quality releases has given us an infinite amount of pleasure and satisfaction, and this 12-inch reflects that beautifully. Baby Ford is, most definitely, a living legend of the House scene, and has made a permanent mark in our record crates and club nights. This release is concrete evidence of what we've always strived for, the privilege of working with artists who have inspired us from the very beginning. His career has spanned 25 years of artistic integrity. He was headlining Acid House parties way back in 1988, and has developed his current sound through years of sublime dj sets and an impressive number of releases We're extremely proud to be included in such a heavyweight discography, amongst labels such as Rhythm King, Rephlex, Ifach, Force Inc., to name just a few. For Karat, it's more than an honor, it's an accomplishment. The track "W9" is rooted in the pure sound tradition of 'Sir' Baby Ford, massive, powerful and deep as hell... A true masterpiece! Chloé is, and will always be, a dear member of the Karat family. We put out her first two 12-inch releases and have since watched her career grow steadily over the years, up to where she is today - well respected and admired on the international club circuit. She's always stayed true to her roots and has been a regular part of Karat events and compilations, and this time she brings out a solid tune with as much class and finesse as we've ever heard from her, more in the House Music vein than any of her previous production

Karat welcomes a new band for the release n°47. We are happy to host some canadians again on the label. The Mole, Guillaume & the coutu-dumont, Egg and Eddie C have already represented this country for Karat ! These guys from Vancouver know how to make it right ! 3 massive tracks, « Boomer » in a rough and fat pumpin’ style, with nice breakdowns and atmospheric landscapes ; perfect for the club, nice for home ; « Full moon cycle », the depest piece of the record, doesn’t need much precise words ; it’s simply beautiful moody and elegant music ; « House of business » is a nice groovin’ track with deliciously arranged with typical jazz elements, brass & keyboards, in a pure canadian cut-up house vein !

Karat is delighted with this new single by SEUIL. We’ve been watching this guy attentively in his progression and we’re glad to finally find him on Karat while his production skills have reached a ripe condition. We guess his rise has just begun so watch him carefully in the near future. The two tracks of the record, in different ways , are close to Karat’s spirit ; deep, funky and abstract enough to be used as a floorfiller or at home for a precise listening. Sub boogie drama » is a jazzy atmosphere with an elegant restraint , even if you can feel the real swing in it. Ketalgine network » offers a true inner odyssey, deep, sensual, funky and exquisitely oppressive.

Paris is in the House! Here you can taste the flavour of some kind of proper parisian house. The two guys from Sucré salé offers two deep but punchy house tracks, wich reflects in a certain extent this city’s state of mind; What looks superficial can also be cleverly structured; That’s the case for this ep, something fresh, positive, well produced and executed.
