the persuader - snödroppar
Tracklist:
A Vitsippa B1 Blåklocka B2 Snödroppar
Short info:
Latest addition to the Tardis Records family is non other than quintessential Swedish techno veteran Jesper Dahlbäck: The man who has arguably had his fi nest club moments under his The Persuader moniker. An ode to the fl oral beauty of his nordic homeland, the three cuts of the „Vårblommor EP“ tread his much beloved, hypnotic path between techno and house. It’s the subtle quirkiness and authentic grit that makes these productions stand out from the vast
uniformity of dubby club tracks. Opener „Vitsippa“ is a particularly inviting number – a grand opus with irresistible drive and intermittent crackly vocals: That rare case of a dancefl oor healer. On the fl ip, „Blåklocka“ is more laid-back, a reminisence of the persuaders early svek production style with a deep sub-bass, ambient textures and fl uttering melodies fuse into a deep, majestic groove. Driven by a positively forward-marching snare drum, „Snödroppar“ fuses vivacious synths to delayed patterns, creating yet another track awash in a kind of sentimental lucidity. Endlessly looping through the night, these three jewels will make their way into the hearts and crates of the discerning DJ. More

Equally known for dark electro-pop as DK7, muscular club tracks with Tiga or powerful high-profile remixes, Jesper Dahlbäck has dutifully served techno in all its forms over the last two decades and turned into one of the pillars of the scene. As with most electronic heavyweights, the Swedish producer's catalogue holds plenty of more or less hidden sub-projects that experimented with techno or house in the past, and remained pivotal to many. One of them, the Persuader, was among the few names that built cult label Svek, an underground brand of refinement that spawned dozens of forward-thinking and neatly cut house/dub 12 inches between 1996 and 2003. That's this very facet of his music personality that Jesper offered to reincarnate for the 5th installment of the Concrete Music label. More than ever in the Dahlbäck canon, Autumn Leaves veers towards the abstract, as opener "A Hymn To Him" suggests. Under a line of sizzling metallic hi-hats, some sparse piano keys respond to erratic moody chords, suspended amidst an almost beat-less landscape, conjuring both a feeling of space and solitude that one Murcof wouldn't deny. One has to wait until the second track, "Sun Position", to hear a proper techno pulse, though transposed in a dark, puzzling setting made of ominous synthetic slabs that resonate with claustrophobia and gloom. The B face smoothes round the angles and shifts us to more familiar grounds with the softer and friendlier forms of "Jaco's Ladder", a relaxed moment of classic-house warmth caressed by loungey chords. Concrete nights resident and Perlon regular Cabanne then softens the vibe of "Sun Position" and gives it a more comfortable but insidious minimal house background, as a closing to this captivating and contrasted set.

Tracklist:
A Boy Girl Action
B1 Trine
B2 I See You
Short info:
Tardis Records are delighted to welcome UK tech-house hero Flow to the Tardis Records stable for their eighth release. The three tracks making up the Trine EP were recorded together with Simon Moorecroft (a.k.a. Simon Vinyl Junkie) around the time of his first vinyl releases back in 1996-1997. All three tracks sound completely contemporary whilst having more than enough old school flavour to give flashbacks to any 90's ravers. Lead track 'Boy Girl Action' has skipping, garage-influenced beats with rolling bass and swirling atmospherics, whilst a breakbeat, vocals and a stabby intro give 'Trine' on the flip a more ravey feel. Closing out the EP, 'I See You' is the dubbiest cut here, with another heavy bassline, cut-up vocals, and subtly swung percussion. Eli and Oscar have loved testing these tracks out on the road and can vouch for their impact on a peak-time dancefloor! More

A No Fooling
B1 Beetween The Lines
B2 Lost
Short info:
After the success of Closer to Freedom in 2014, Chicago legend DJ Jes returns to Tardis Records with the Between The Lines EP, featuring two lost tracks from his personal archives and a brand new offering. Opener ‘No Fooling’ is reduced to the bare essentials until an elegant snatch of piano and spoken word sample break it down further; when the track kicks back in with a vengeance everyone in the room will know all about it, but it remains subtle enough to work the day after as well. On the flip, ‘Between The Lines’ is tougher and dubbier and will do some serious peak-time damage, whilst new track ‘Lost’ is a cut-up banger for the floor and a perfect DJ tool. All tracks have been meticulously edited and rearranged by label owners Eli Verveine and Oscar Schubaq in order to extend the grooves and maximise dance floor impact. More

losoul - Sparkling Please
Tracklist:
A Soda Island
B Sparkling Please
Short info:
For the sixth release on Tardis Records, label owners Eli Verveine and Oscar Schubaq proudly
present two tracks from the personal archives of Peter Kremeier a.k.a. Losoul, a man who has been
rocking dancefloors and enchanting listeners with his uniquely abstract and tripped-out take on
minimal house for two decades and counting. On the A-side, “Soda Island” hangs cut-up vocal stabs
over the last word in bone-dry, bass-heavy grooves. “Sparkling Please” on the flip starts out cheerfully
but then subtly mutates into spooked insectoid psychedelia anchored by crisp percussion and bass.
Drop either of these cuts at the right moment and watch the dancers lose their minds! Mastered and
cut by Stefan Betke at Scape Mastering. More

Tracklist: A1 Closer To Freedom B1 Echoes B2 Difficult
Short info:
If nothing else, Tardis Records is a vessel of friendship: a place where joint passions thrive.
Thusly, Eli Verveine and Oscar Schubag have asked DJ Jes from Chicago to perform his West Coast-inflected house magic. The fourth release on the Zurich/Berlin based label embodies a unique style all Jes' own: There's that mesmerizing, dubby and tribalistic disposition, chromatic and slightly outside the box. Propelled by whipping drums and twisted moods, opener "Closer to Freedom" proves to be an irresistible and cleverly-conceived shaker. "Echoes" delves into acoustic space-time and dribbles by way of percussive straightforwardness. Last but not least, there's that house tool called "Difficult": a metallically clad and sharply hissing bass-monster, briefly steering into a save haven of jazzy chords. Three pieces to sweep you off your feet:
thank you DJ Jes!.

Tacklist A1Take it, B1 Exposition, B2 Triade
Tardis strikes back, straight out of their intricate space-time-continuum: Here, label co-honcho Oscar Schubaq delivers a tour de force of the first order. On his first solo EP after the well-received collaboration with Eli Verveine on TAR001, which has been recently repressed, Schubaq betrays his respectful mastery of the classic tropes of house and techno. The main cut "Take It" is direct and to the point, pushing onward and onward with a graceful relentlessness. Ethereal dub textures and curious string harmonies mingle with vocal harmonics. Then there's "Exposition" which does exactly as it should: Straightforward, contemporary house that honours it's roots.Finishing the EP with "Triade", a dark ambient journey based on the core of extreme timestreched vocal drones and organic scapes, Tardis once again shows that it´s not only about music for the dancefloor. Tracklist: A1 CutTwice B1 The Mood B2 Stacked Team
Berlin/Zurich based label Tardis is back, enthusiastically dancing out of the studio into the dawn of a much wished-for summer. For their second release, Tardis has enlisted Paul Mac aka Jorge Zamacona who hoists in not one but three rough house killers. Picking up the trail he left fifteen years ago on his "Mosaic Efforts" mini-series for Steve O'Sullivan's Mosaic label, the veteran producer portrays dazzling acumen: Bursting with the sheer power of clever drum programming, "Cut Twice" is an offering that will make people lose their heads on dance-floors: Jagged, massive, irresistible. "The Mood" ventures into deep, silky house territories, while "Stacked Team" delivers another burning cut of dancefloor-euphoria: House! A time capsule in his own right, this EP is still firmly embedded in the now: Paul Mac produced all tracks in 2013.

Because elegant and raw club music is never going out of fashion. Which one can also learn from Schubaq & Verveine's brand new label Tardis, it's name meaning "time and relative dimensions in space". As producers, the two artists have joined forces for their debut EP: The choo-choo curves of "Ness" will undoubtedly bring the steamy heat to many dancefloors, while "Züri Dub" has already been turning heads via Eli Verveine' s recent podcast for RA: Here, Schubaq & Verveine dive deep into a stripped down groover. You need more? Let yourself go in the chasmic looseness of "Spencer F.Byrd".
