Tracklist:
A Boy Girl Action
B1 Trine
B2 I See You
Short info:
Tardis Records are delighted to welcome UK tech-house hero Flow to the Tardis Records stable for their eighth release. The three tracks making up the Trine EP were recorded together with Simon Moorecroft (a.k.a. Simon Vinyl Junkie) around the time of his first vinyl releases back in 1996-1997. All three tracks sound completely contemporary whilst having more than enough old school flavour to give flashbacks to any 90's ravers. Lead track 'Boy Girl Action' has skipping, garage-influenced beats with rolling bass and swirling atmospherics, whilst a breakbeat, vocals and a stabby intro give 'Trine' on the flip a more ravey feel. Closing out the EP, 'I See You' is the dubbiest cut here, with another heavy bassline, cut-up vocals, and subtly swung percussion. Eli and Oscar have loved testing these tracks out on the road and can vouch for their impact on a peak-time dancefloor! More

A No Fooling
B1 Beetween The Lines
B2 Lost
Short info:
After the success of Closer to Freedom in 2014, Chicago legend DJ Jes returns to Tardis Records with the Between The Lines EP, featuring two lost tracks from his personal archives and a brand new offering. Opener ‘No Fooling’ is reduced to the bare essentials until an elegant snatch of piano and spoken word sample break it down further; when the track kicks back in with a vengeance everyone in the room will know all about it, but it remains subtle enough to work the day after as well. On the flip, ‘Between The Lines’ is tougher and dubbier and will do some serious peak-time damage, whilst new track ‘Lost’ is a cut-up banger for the floor and a perfect DJ tool. All tracks have been meticulously edited and rearranged by label owners Eli Verveine and Oscar Schubaq in order to extend the grooves and maximise dance floor impact. More

A Soda Island
B Sparkling Please
Short info:
For the sixth release on Tardis Records, label owners Eli Verveine and Oscar Schubaq proudly
present two tracks from the personal archives of Peter Kremeier a.k.a. Losoul, a man who has been
rocking dancefloors and enchanting listeners with his uniquely abstract and tripped-out take on
minimal house for two decades and counting. On the A-side, “Soda Island” hangs cut-up vocal stabs
over the last word in bone-dry, bass-heavy grooves. “Sparkling Please” on the flip starts out cheerfully
but then subtly mutates into spooked insectoid psychedelia anchored by crisp percussion and bass.
Drop either of these cuts at the right moment and watch the dancers lose their minds! Mastered and
cut by Stefan Betke at Scape Mastering. More

Short info:
Latest addition to the Tardis Records family is non other than quintessential Swedish techno veteran Jesper Dahlbäck: The man who has arguably had his fi nest club moments under his The Persuader moniker. An ode to the fl oral beauty of his nordic homeland, the three cuts of the „Vårblommor EP“ tread his much beloved, hypnotic path between techno and house. It’s the subtle quirkiness and authentic grit that makes these productions stand out from the vast
uniformity of dubby club tracks. Opener „Vitsippa“ is a particularly inviting number – a grand opus with irresistible drive and intermittent crackly vocals: That rare case of a dancefl oor healer. On the fl ip, „Blåklocka“ is more laid-back, a reminisence of the persuaders early svek production style with a deep sub-bass, ambient textures and fl uttering melodies fuse into a deep, majestic groove. Driven by a positively forward-marching snare drum, „Snödroppar“ fuses vivacious synths to delayed patterns, creating yet another track awash in a kind of sentimental lucidity. Endlessly looping through the night, these three jewels will make their way into the hearts and crates of the discerning DJ. More

Tracklist: A1 Closer To Freedom B1 Echoes B2 Difficult
Short info:
If nothing else, Tardis Records is a vessel of friendship: a place where joint passions thrive.
Thusly, Eli Verveine and Oscar Schubag have asked DJ Jes from Chicago to perform his West Coast-inflected house magic. The fourth release on the Zurich/Berlin based label embodies a unique style all Jes' own: There's that mesmerizing, dubby and tribalistic disposition, chromatic and slightly outside the box. Propelled by whipping drums and twisted moods, opener "Closer to Freedom" proves to be an irresistible and cleverly-conceived shaker. "Echoes" delves into acoustic space-time and dribbles by way of percussive straightforwardness. Last but not least, there's that house tool called "Difficult": a metallically clad and sharply hissing bass-monster, briefly steering into a save haven of jazzy chords. Three pieces to sweep you off your feet:
thank you DJ Jes!.

Tardis strikes back, straight out of their intricate space-time-continuum: Here, label co-honcho Oscar Schubaq delivers a tour de force of the first order. On his first solo EP after the well-received collaboration with Eli Verveine on TAR001, which has been recently repressed, Schubaq betrays his respectful mastery of the classic tropes of house and techno. The main cut "Take It" is direct and to the point, pushing onward and onward with a graceful relentlessness. Ethereal dub textures and curious string harmonies mingle with vocal harmonics. Then there's "Exposition" which does exactly as it should: Straightforward, contemporary house that honours it's roots.Finishing the EP with "Triade", a dark ambient journey based on the core of extreme timestreched vocal drones and organic scapes, Tardis once again shows that it´s not only about music for the dancefloor. Berlin/Zurich based label Tardis is back, enthusiastically dancing out of the studio into the dawn of a much wished-for summer. For their second release, Tardis has enlisted Paul Mac aka Jorge Zamacona who hoists in not one but three rough house killers. Picking up the trail he left fifteen years ago on his "Mosaic Efforts" mini-series for Steve O'Sullivan's Mosaic label, the veteran producer portrays dazzling acumen: Bursting with the sheer power of clever drum programming, "Cut Twice" is an offering that will make people lose their heads on dance-floors: Jagged, massive, irresistible. "The Mood" ventures into deep, silky house territories, while "Stacked Team" delivers another burning cut of dancefloor-euphoria: House! A time capsule in his own right, this EP is still firmly embedded in the now: Paul Mac produced all tracks in 2013.

In the world of electronic music, 15 years is a bloody near eternity. And it's exactly how long Eli Verveine and Oscar Schubaq have been exploring their vinyl passion and the art of intricate deejaying. Time, however, is a relative matter. As producers, the two artists have joined forces for their debut EP: The choo-choo curves of "Ness" will undoubtedly bring the steamy heat to many dancefloors, while "Züri Dub" has already been turning heads via Eli Verveine' s recent podcast for RA: Here, Schubaq & Verveine dive deep into a stripped down groover. Under the alias 4E, producer Can Oral created his own unique sound of raw, futuristic acid-electro. The A-Side tracks "Ask Isadora" and "Conga Banana" first appeared on the album, Blue Note, released on Home Entertainment in 1996. On the flip are two unreleased tracks picked from his extensive archive and edited by FIT Siegel. These were also recorded during this era, which Can describes below:
"In the 90s I moved to NYC to start a band with Jimi Tenor. I had a small flat in the East Village with the apartment number 4E and that became my artist name for the downtempo and electro material I was working on. The style I called Futuristic Electro because I didn't want to relate to the old school with this. I had my studio on the kitchen floor and pretty much only used EMU SP-1200, TB-303, TR-808 and SH-101 by good ol’ Roland. In a way NYC was still developing because it was all about house music. In 1995, I opened Temple Records in Manhattan with Dr Walker from Air Liquide and DJ DB from Smile Communications. The record shop was inside the Liquid Sky clothing store. After a fire in the shop, along with a falling out with the owner I decided to talk to a fortune teller to find out what the future held. Her name was Isadora, and she had a TV show called "Ask Isadora." She told me on live television to move out, have my own shop and be independent, so I did. Thanks Isadora!" More

Repress!
Wax’o Paradiso Recordings presents its debut outing on vinyl, OK EG’s Intertidal Zone EP. The new label from the long standing Naarm (Melbourne) party is set to explore hi-fidelity, landscape-driven and cerebral music from the antipodes and beyond.
After sold out pressings on local imprints Animalia and Steeplejack, this EP explores a more contemplative side of OK EG, suitable for discerning dancefloors and meditative home listening alike.
Conceived in 2019 and completed in 2020, Intertidal Zone was recorded in collaboration with percussionist Phil Stroud. The rhythm tracks are a fusion of drum machines and hand drums, loose percussion, human voices and tuned percussion immersed in water. Joined by analog synthesisers, layered vocals, processed guitar and field recordings, the music evokes solastalgia and a reverence for nature.
The final track, Golden Hour, came from an improvisation with multi-instrumentalist Adam Halliwell on flute and jazz musician Jack Doepel on Korg bass, later transposed to modular synthesiser.
Wax’o Paradiso and OK EG acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which this music was recorded, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation, and pay their respects to elders past, present and emerging. More

Release Info:
Heist Recordings has been pushing the envelope for house music since day one and we’re always on the lookout for artists that represent our vision on electronic music. Our next guest on the label fits that profile and more. He is the embodiment of modern-day electronic funk and a true wizard on the keys: Atlanta raised cool guy Byron the Aquarius.
Byron has a solid history on the label: He remixed Parker Madicine back in 2017 and did a mad solo on the 2019 released Dam Swindle track ‘The life behind things’. We’ve done some shows together and stayed in touch while Byron was working together with Jeff Mills on his 2020 jazz crossover record ‘Ambrosia’ on Axis. Now, after a solid string of releases on labels like Shall not Fade and Purveyor Underground, Byron is making his solo appearance on Heist. His ‘Akira’ EP goes from dark basement grooves to dreamy broken beats and features a remix by New York dance music wizard Kush Jones.
The Akira EP kicks off with ‘I love yo’. In this track, Byron decides to leave his keys at home and goes in deep with a moody club workout. ‘I love yo’ is a track that juxtaposes dreamy samples with rough percussion and vocal chops with a clear nod to the work of Mr. G. The melody is mellow, but don’t be deceived; clever drum programming and plenty of sub take this track into the club vibe just the way Byron likes it: warm, hazy and sexy AF.
Byron is not known for delivering straightforward house tunes, but when he does deliver them, he does it in style. Enter ‘Get up’; the A2 of the EP. There’s everything we love about house music: smart vocal chops, driving percussion, classic house keys and a booming sub to get you bumping to this beat.
The B-side sees Byron up the tempo and take a deep dive into bass territory with ‘Love’. In this track, there’s lush pads running over a percussive broken beat and chopped R ’n B vocals to add some serious sex appeal. It’s deceptively simple and clean but ever so catchy, which clearly shows Byron’s prowess as an electronic music producer.
Going back to classic house mode, we’ve got ‘Success’: A spoken word house track that fits right in with the classics. Byron sets the mood with some bumpy key-and synth work while brainstorming about originality and blackness throughout the track. Even though the message underneath might be a serious one, Byron succeeds in delivering this in a fun, uplifting way that never gets pretentious or divisive.
The EP finishes with a remix by New Yorker Kush Jones. This is an artist who understands how to build a groove. He could take you anywhere from house to juke, footwork and techno, which is exactly why he’s been getting so much love for his music recently. Kush is an artist who sees no boundaries in his music and still manages to create his own sonic universe. His remix of ‘I love yo’ takes a dreamy approach with soft chords running over an electronic groove with a pure and improvised feel. All elements fit together perfectly and it’s the clever ad-hoc programming and arrangement that suck you into his unbounded world from the first beat.
As always, enjoy the music and play it loud.
Yours sincerely,
Maarten & Lars More
