Tambien is a beacon of hope in a dark warehouse. This is their second offering for the ESP Institute. After their debut Drogato on the label in late 2013, this Bavarian trio have ignited excitement among discerning dancefloors worldwide. This sophomore effort brings to light a deeper and more melan- cholic side of their House repertoire. The A-side’s Der Elf gives us serious goosebumps as its monotonous marching 909 snare lays ground for an almost random arrangement of beautiful bending synths and psychedelic chopped female vocals. On the flip, we have a lengthy gorgeous come-down with Are You In Touch w/ Varan? After more than half of this muted and breezy oscillat- ing vibe, we’re awaked by naive and melodic twinkling keys, helping us all face the daylight.

Tambien is a Bavarian trio with good taste and this is their first offering for the ESP Institute. Listeners will find these tracks trance inducing. Drogato is versatile thumper, appropriate to set the vibe in the early-evening, or as deep dancefloor maintenance in the wee hours. It has a pulse and fuzz that are infectious, toying with implied melodies that barely exist outside the confines of your headspace. Dois is a cruising track based on a simple staccato melody and a classic breakbeat, with a hand so subtle that nobody can dismiss its golden-era approach. With this pairing of tracks, we welcome Tambien to the ESP Institute, and invite all listeners to enjoy their warm embrace.

The label is run by Marvin Schuhmann & Valentino Betz, who together with Munich producer Bartellow are also responsible for Tambien. The freshly founded label is accompanied (under the same name) by a physical record store Marvin & Valentino opened in the beginning of March in the center of Munich. After the well received three track edit record by Tambien, that came out as a self distributed promo release pushed by Marvin & Valentino in spring 2012, this release offers two own productions by the trio. Each side contains one track, both meandering in the realms of analogue dance music. Expect more from Public Possession, as there is quite a few releases already in the pipeline, as for example Bell Towers and Matthew Brown.
