Lisbon-based Frenchman Brawther, who is also one-half of Dungeon Meat for more raw grooves, shows off his mastery of deep house on this fresh new EP for B2 Recordings. 'Sundials' (feat Nathan Haines) immediately soothes the soul with its lunging chords and seductive sax lines. Occasional female coos add further lushness to this most heartwarming of tunes. 'Second Nature' has a little more height and drive to it but again the drums are warm and fuzzy, the chords smeared in artful ways and the overall vibe utterly heady. Last of all is the bubbly and dubby 'Gotta Let It Go' with its bottomless depths and chords that melt off into an infinite horizon. Gorgeous stuff from this always quality artist.

Just over 10 years into releasing music, the LP sees the frenchman collaborating with an array of musicians and his first vocal song, with the appearance of Detroit unsung Hero Javonntte and .The listeners gradually transit via Dub,Techno, Hip Hop, Ambiant and straight up Jacking numbers. "Brudan in Leeds" sees a new collaboration with Daniel Paul (Cab Drivers). The album also marks the start of his imprint "Negentropy", a long awaited home for all his musical endeavors and fantasies. We are happy to introduce a new release and a new project from Ben Vedren and Chez Damier; a new collaboration that has been in the making for some time now. Side AA1 presents a unique sound in its vibe, kind of a minimal track. The French discussion/vocal in the background adds another dimension. You don't need to speak the language to understand what's going on, but you must wonder at some point: Do I understand French or is it the music that made me understand them? An "organ" sound intervenes towards the end bringing power and light to the hall. It’s eleven minutes of pure music! While "AA" is composed of two different remixes of a different track, “Berlin Nights in Paris” It can probably be called the House anthem. It starts strong with some acid sound and is filled with a lot of wonderful elements. Like a gourmet meal, you wonder if the track shouldn't have been at least three times longer to satisfy the gluttony of the listen. The Techno remixes of the track. It's a perfect example of Detroit meets House. Techno track can, with no doubt, feed and drive the dance floor. No need for more than five words to describe it – it's a serious Techno track.

After a string of releases in 2016, french journeyman and beat craftsman Hugo LX returns on Balance Recordings with his first House long player. Since leaving Richie Hawtin’s M_nus family, Magda has set about forging her own distinctive path in electronic music. Unshackled from minimal techno expectations (not that she could ever be defined so narrowly), she has found freedom in this new chapter of her career. Whether its curating myriad unusual sounds on her reborn Items & Things label alongside fellow M_nus emigres Marc Houle and Troy Pierce, developing her own premium tequila brand or burying herself in her new studio setup, all of her output is imbued with a sense of adventure and exploration. Her effort for Balance indulges both the cerebral, boundary-pushing side of her musical make-up, and the more dancefloor focused one - which is, of course, not without its kooks, quirks and moments of oddity. “The most important thing is the narrative - what you're trying to say and how” she says of the process of putting her selections together. “That's why I love the idea of a two mix compilation because it allows for lots of experimentation and space. The challenge is piecing together tracks that may be opposites into something that makes sense. The legendary Chez Damier presents the first of two carefully curated 12"s under the Purpose For Design banner on his own Balance Music, carrying on the Chicago label's mission to deliver the finest contemporary deep house sounds. On the A-side, Ethereal Sound alumnus Miruga delivers "Midnight Theme", a jazz-tinged number filled with swimming keys floating atop a thick undercurrent of bass, while UG provides their mix of Brawther's "Endless", a garage-inspired track filled with feather light vocal snippets, creamy chords and a snappy, upbeat rhythmic flex. On the B-side, "The Way I Feel When I Think Of You" sees Introspective combine an insistent yet smooth synth pulse with reverb heavy piano chords resulting in an improvised, rustling percussive feel.
