gummihz - acid jazz
2
gummihz - 8am groove
Tracklist 12" single:
A. Acid jazz B. 8AM groove
Short info:
"Club cuts" is the new release by GummiHz. It features two dancefloor heavy tracks spanning from acid to dub house/ techno. On side A, 'Acid patch', is a serious dancefloor weapon with a characteristic killer TB 303 bassline and airy jazz piano licks, produced back in 2010. '8am groove', on the flip, is a dub cut that, in typical GummiHz finese, rolls effortlesly between detroit house and techno. An excellent record cut for the dancefloor!

A1. Berlinopolis A2: Second Wave A3: Prime Sequence
B1: Submerge B2: Prime Dub
C1: Proto Sequence C2: Metafunk
D1: Mindloop D2: Descension
Special Remarks:
"Prime Sequences" is the latest album by dj and electronic music producer GummiHz, real name Alexander Tsotsos. Alex has an ear for what he describes as elastic frequencies, thus gummi-hertz! In other words, low bass lines, airy synth phrases and shuffle rhythms, playfully arranged within loose forms. A philosophy that comes across throughout this long player. Elements fall in and out of order, time swings back and forth, all together in perfect harmony! Pushing the boundaries of what has become his signature sound, a fusion of house and techno all the way from Berlin to Detroit! This package features underground music coming straight from the heart, or the Hertz more appropriately! The story unfolds within no less than nine tracks showcasing Alex's versatility in making waves!
The opening track titled "Berlinopolis" is a sonic portrait of the city of Berlin, where Alex lives since more than a decade. A smooth soundscape produced by combining abstract melodies with field recordings of the city's ambience. "'Second Wave" follows airy jazz chords and drum parts to launch the listener into trajectory. It feels like the sort of track that would probably make it into Herbie Hancock's deep house collection! The title track "Prime sequence" is a Detroit brewed piece with some Berlin minimalism rawness in the rhythm section! Combining a mixture of drama, suspense and shaking drums to dominate the dance floor. Next up comes "Submerge", a tight and hypnotic affair carrying the right amount of subtle release. It locks in right from the start and doesn't let go! "Prime Dub" dives deeper into the frequency spectrum. Rhythm and sound stimulate the brain waves as a heavy chord phrase cycles to infinity. "Proto Sequence" follows a simple still infectious groove laced with various modulations. This track has party written all over it! Inspired by proto-house motifs pioneered by artists like Chi-town's Ron Hardy. "Metafunk" reaches out to Berlin's club culture at its core. That is, the youth and street culture! The phrase on repeat signifies the urge to reclaim the streets, while endlessly flowing within finely tuned electronics. "Mindloop" is a track written for the after hours looping state of mind. Another minimal house cut with a fair dose of psychedelic sound design. Lastly, "Descension" relaxes the mood through deep pulsating rhythms and playful arpeggios. Pushing towards a meditative state by stimulating mind, body and soul!?
"Prime Sequences" covers a wide range of styles like ambient electronics, peak time house and techno, as well as seriously effed up after hour minimalism! Made for both djs and music lovers, this is the second long player by GummiHz to come out on vinyl after his debut album "Sleepless Nights" back in 2009! While it succeeds his latest EP, "Groove is in the Hertz". What makes it even more special is that it comes out on brainchild Claap, giving the artist total freedom of expression.

GUMMIHZ - Out Out
Tracklist 12":
A. Aerini
B. Out Out
Special Remarks: GummiHz new record on Claap featuring two minimal rockers! Anthemic "Aerini" on side A and 'straight outta Berlin' groove "Out Out" on side B. Vinyl only!
Description: The silence is over! GummiHz is back on the release front! A dedicated frequency explorer, GummiHz follows a phylosophy that making music should always be adventurous, interesting and fun. For this reason, he has dedicated the last couple of years in rebuilding his studio setup and now it is time to share the fruits of this expedition.
"Groove is in the Hertz" includes a selection of recordings, showcasing the perspective of GummiHz on minimal house and techno. The series is split into parts with part one featuring two minimal cuts. "Aerini", on side A, offers eleven and a half minutes of miinimal techno bliss. Anthemic voices combined with live recordings set a balearic atmosphere, while sitting elegantly on top of finely programmed rhythmics and basslines. Curated and mixed by label owner Alex Tsotsos aka GummiHz, the label's first compilation marks the first milestone to the labels short lifespan. Spreading the message of Claap! A strong cast of producers here with Jerome Sydenham, Jimpster, D'Julz, Santonio Echols, Manoo, Oskar Offermann and Claap core artists John Dimas and Nikola Gala. All have stepped up with some excellent interpretations on early Claap releases, focused strongly on the dancefloor. The result is some stunning productions showing Claap's pure club sound experience. "Alles Claap vol.1" carries the GummiHz characteristic mixing signature along with previously unreleased material plus a GummiHz exclusive new track. Alles Claap is a story about the label's past, present and future all taking place simultaneously! The perfect soundtrack to your summer nights or any other season!
Having played various venues around the globe and with a plethora of diverse productions coming on all levels of house, techno, disco and more, Alex Tsotsos has built a strong reputation with his different projects and GummiHz is a strong proof of this. In his usually extensive dj sets he is known to effortlessly fuse together elements of different tracks in constant evolving transitions. A very versatile and saught after dj, Alex is well respected amongst the international dance community and at the top of greece's export in musical talent. It has been the past couple of years that GummiHz started carving his own path in the industry by launching Claap along with two vinyl only imprints, C-EDITS and the Raw Instinct volumes. A necessary step in his artistic evolution after working solely with Berlin's Mobilee records on many singles, his debut album "Sleepless nights" (2009) and one of the milestone mixes in their compilation series. In the meantime, Alex didnt hold back on the productions, having released a plethora of productions on labels like Real Tone, Ibadan records, Wolf + Lamb, Defected, Claap and many more under different projects and labels. This compilation comes right on cue to set GummiHz new status in the global scene, not only as a saught after dj and producer, but further on as a key figure in the evolution of modern dance music and the clubbing culture. In its short lifespan, Claap has released more than a few tracks that have gained their place in the hearts and bags of many. Projecting exciting new talent in the global circuit through a strong focus on the music above all else. The result is a plethora of quality dance tracks by label boss GummiHz on one side along with amazing records by Claap household names like Nikola Gala and John Dimas in just a couple of years. Songs like 'Secret Voyage' by GummiHz, 'Quick dance' by John Dimas and 'Oasy' by Nikola Gala being only a few examples. Adding to the bill are exciting newcomers the Square Room Heroes, very promising producer Quell, talented young artist BODJ and recent signee Moire Patterns. All inspiring artists who belong to an exiting new wave of dance producers. GummiHz presents Alles Claap vol.1. Its all about the music!

Next release on Claap coming up and it is another GummiHz affair! After his last release on Claap "Head Rush" last summer was snatched by the guys at Defected for the Defected In the House series, Alex is back with his next record aptly titled "Rejuvenation EP". This two tracker carries a pair of absolutely necessary house grooves. Rejuvenation features an elegant arpeggio which builds up to an intense crescendo bound to hypnotize dancefloors the world over. Intense but very elegantly produced it carries Alex's signature sound and explores a similar musical territory to Secret Voyage (CLAAP004) which has received overwhelming responses since its release. The motif on the flip side remains similar but with a more mature soundscape, showcasing Alex's endless sonic diversity. Add a bonus beatzz extract to round up an essential EP for the open air season and not only.

GummiHz, - Ruff Passage
Already in the forth installment, Claap continues it's streak of quality releases. This time label head GummiHz is back with a breazy and grooving maxi titled "Head Rush". Featuring four new cuts welcoming the summer heat. "Head Rush" is a captivating piece reminiscent of that 90s NY house sound. It is a nod to the past with a touch of now. Breezy and cool, with the sort of drums that will keep the floor pumping. The drums out mix is a more pumped out version of the original, stripped down to the drums and voices. "Secret voyage" taps into a more ballearic atmosphere. A captivating arpeggio draws the frame to a very elegant arrangement of organic rhythmical elements. "Ruff Passage" is a dubbier cut which was created to remind you of previous house producers of the ruff!! A must have for all occasions to keep the heat on!!

Flip it over and "Out Out" brings out even more rhythm to the game

gummihz, nikola gala, kindimmer - everything looks yellow
Tracklist 12" single:
A. GummiHz - Paraphonic state
B1. Nikola Gala - Paradise (2015 version)
B2. Kindimmer - Everything looks yellow
Short info:
Vinyl release celbrating five years of Claap. Music by GummiHz, Nikola Gala and Kindimmer.
The opening track by GummiHz, titled 'Paraphonic state', explores the beauty of paraphony. Produced solely by using a drum machine and a paraphonic synthesizer, the arrangement focuses on the bare essentials of a monster of a track! Moving between the lines of Detroit techno and minimalism, a sound that GummiHz is famous for. Next up is Nikola Gala with his updated version of 'Paradise'. The track first appeared as a tool on our third release back in 2011. For the five years of the label, Nikola found it appropriate to rework on the tool and turn it into a powerful track. Tight, dirty and raw! Upcoming talent Kindimmer has also become a strong part of our core since his first appearance on Claap. His track 'Everything looks yellow' is another excellent production by an artist who knows how to handle rough and smooth! A smooth melody locks over some solid drums that carry this 'rough' sound that has helped him build a strong reputation amongst fans of electronic music.

A. Irish Burnout B. Rigel
Its already been a couple of years since the debut release by BODJ on Claap. This young talent has not let the time pass in stagnant waters. On the contrary BODJ has been very concentrated with studio work as well as his dj residency holding the Audiorama nights at the infamous sixdogs club in Athens. The results are two stunning productions evident of the way BODJ's sound has matured and evolved to the right direction. His second solo EP on Claap titled "Irish burnout" features two very well crafted club tracks. Produced for the late hours, this EP sits right on the boundaries bewteen house and techno. Each track follows a moody sonic path reminicent of the dub side of techno, while at the same time the tempo is set to give each element plenty of space to develop within the arrangement. Two tracks carrying the right hypnotic to pump ratio! Making this record functional from the warm up to the closing set! This EP is set take a spot in plenty of record bags out there! B1. The distraction of fever B2. Beat loop 1 B3. Beat loop 2 B4. Stab loop
Next number on Claap and it is another special offering. For our 16th release we welcome new kid on the Berlin block Kindimmer. We have had an eye on this upcoming creative spirit in a while and everyone was buzzing at ClaapHQ when we got the tracks that Kindimmer sent over. The grooves on both tracks got us so hooked that we asked Kindimmer to produce locked grooves out of these beauties and turn this release into a locked album! On side A "Workz on dope" is a house groove reminiscent of that MCDE aesthetic but done in Kindimmer's own and unique production attitude. Hailing from Volos its by no luck that we have nicknamed Kindimmer as Volos city drum ensemble! Next to "Workz on dope" we have added 3 locked grooves full of elements appealing to the djs who like to work it while playing! On the flip "The distraction of fever" has that characteristic raw detroit vibe. Dominant stabs and a serious groove full of beeef! This one is for these moments when turnng the heat up is the only way to go! There are 3 locked grooves on this side too, which are extracts from "The distraction of fever". Another Claap record set to turn heads and raise hands on the dancefloor. House music from B to the D!

A. GummiHz - Secret voyage (Manoo remix) B. Quell - Real People (Jerome Sydenham remix)
Third single of the upcoming debut mixed cd compilation "GummiHz presents Alles Claap vol.1". This time with Jerome Sydenham and Manoo on remix duties. First up, Secret Voyage (CLAAP004) by GummiHz, is tranformed to an Afro house groove raised to spiritual heights by one of France's most prominent house producers. UPC: 827170492462 Release: 25.03.2013
Tracklist 12" single:
New addition to the Claap roster and we welcome Moire Patterns debut EP on the label. To be honest this record is a vinyl sampler of Moire Patterns debut long player coming up on Claap! But lets not spoil all of the magic and keep some details secret still. Moire Patterns combines effortlessly disco, house and techno elements with a punk production attitude! All tracks have been performed live in Moire Patterns' in numerous studio sessions in the past months. If we were to talk geography to describe Niko's (to his friends) sound, then Detroit, San Franciso and Chicago are definetely on the map! Powerful, dancefloor focused and yet airy and deep, the record showcases Moire Patterns different moods and directions. "Deep down" is an excellent floor warmer, stripped down to the basics which urges you to get down! This song appears exclusively on the vinyl release. On the flip "It could only happen with you" has that characteristic raw detroit feel. A track full of energy that can cause serious heat issues on the dancefloor or even your living room! The remix on the same side comes from from Detroit's own Santonio Echols! Santonio needs no introduction really but for history's sake, he has been releasing productions with long time friend and associate Kevin Saunderson on their Reese & Santonio project with noumerous releases on KMS, as well as Chez Damier amongst a plethora of productions dating back to 1987! We cannot even describe how honoured we feel to have a true Detroit legend doing the remix work for us! Santonio has notched up the mood of the original song and has come up with a classy techy mix keeping the energy high all around. Zipping up your boots? We 're going back to the roots!

John Dimas, - Falling Skies
House up with Claap! Its all about self control and John Dimas is well aware of that. Carrying a string of releases on esteemed labels John has made a quite a reputation for himself bringing a classic Chicago style house sound with that irresistible Dimas signature swing! His tracks have been favourites with djs like D'Julz, Shonky, Loco Dice, Chez Damler amongst many others. To be honest, we are very honored to have these tracks carrying the Claap stamp. John starts off with 'Quick dance', a track which label head Alex Tsotsos better known as GummiHz has been spinning heavily in his sets since a while back. Fresh and bouncy. 'Quick dance' builds up effortlessly to an acid theme as a node to the UK! The title track self control sexes things up as a soft voice sings a chorus repeatedly over a filtered electric piano and a very dominant bassline. Reminiscent of the house sound in Chicago, it has sweat written all over it! Falling skies wraps up the package keeping the mood in swing mode. House music with great attitude which you can play next year too!!

Square Room Heroes, - Pitch the Feelings
Square room heroes are back on Claap with their debut EP. After releasing "Now is the time" (CLAAP005) back in September the heroes, George and George, have been busy working on new material. The two tracks featured on this EP comprise mainly of works from Thessaloniki's native George Boronas. Crashed detail with its enchanting string arrangement captivated label head GummiHz who immediately rushed to provide a powerful and dramatic interpretation of the original. We are also very excited to have a remix from one of the grooviest house heads around, none other than Ekkohaus. With a string of releases on labels like Moon Harbour, Liebe detail, Morris Audio to name only a few, Kostas Tassopoulos has established a signature sound full of swing and shake!! And his remix on Crashed detail does exactly that. Ekkohaus takes the stabs and chord arrangements to another level over his characteristic swinging beats. On the flip side Pitch the feelings is rough n tough funk reminiscent of early 90s beefy sampling. SRH's George Boronas has chopped a funk groove up to the point of delirium in an effort to pay his dues to influences such as dj Sneak and Carl Craig!! Essential stuff!!

GummiHz, - Rejuvenation

BODJ, - Every Day
Coming up on Claap we welcome a new name on the label. BODJ is an upcoming producer from Athens (GR). A fresh face in the scene, BODJ has already had a couple of releases under his belt and caused some serious heat with his "Blisters EP" back in 2010!! "Every Day" is an easy and very classy house cut. Quite emotive with flowing rhythm patterns, it is an ode to every day lovin! On the remix duties, These Days afficionado and man of the moment Argy takes the track into a sweatier territory with his NYC dub mix. While, the love mix explores a more romantic side of the original track. Label head GummiHz rounds up the package with a bubbly night fever mix. A filtered disco house take, reminiscent of french house in the late 90s. Top tip!!
