"Prime Sequences" is the latest album by dj and electronic music producer GummiHz, real name Alexander Tsotsos. Alex has an ear for what he describes as elastic frequencies, thus gummi-hertz! In other words, low bass lines, airy synth phrases and shuffle rhythms, playfully arranged within loose forms. A philosophy that comes across throughout this long player. Elements fall in and out of order, time swings back and forth, all together in perfect harmony! Pushing the boundaries of what has become his signature sound, a fusion of house and techno all the way from Berlin to Detroit! This package features underground music coming straight from the heart, or the Hertz more appropriately! The story unfolds within no less than nine tracks showcasing Alex's versatility in making waves!

The opening track titled "Berlinopolis" is a sonic portrait of the city of Berlin, where Alex lives since more than a decade. A smooth soundscape produced by combining abstract melodies with field recordings of the city's ambience. "'Second Wave" follows airy jazz chords and drum parts to launch the listener into trajectory. It feels like the sort of track that would probably make it into Herbie Hancock's deep house collection! The title track "Prime sequence" is a Detroit brewed piece with some Berlin minimalism rawness in the rhythm section! Combining a mixture of drama, suspense and shaking drums to dominate the dance floor. Next up comes "Submerge", a tight and hypnotic affair carrying the right amount of subtle release. It locks in right from the start and doesn't let go! "Prime Dub" dives deeper into the frequency spectrum. Rhythm and sound stimulate the brain waves as a heavy chord phrase cycles to infinity. "Proto Sequence" follows a simple still infectious groove laced with various modulations. This track has party written all over it! Inspired by proto-house motifs pioneered by artists like Chi-town's Ron Hardy. "Metafunk" reaches out to Berlin's club culture at its core. That is, the youth and street culture! The phrase on repeat signifies the urge to reclaim the streets, while endlessly flowing within finely tuned electronics. "Mindloop" is a track written for the after hours looping state of mind. Another minimal house cut with a fair dose of psychedelic sound design. Lastly, "Descension" relaxes the mood through deep pulsating rhythms and playful arpeggios. Pushing towards a meditative state by stimulating mind, body and soul!?

"Prime Sequences" covers a wide range of styles like ambient electronics, peak time house and techno, as well as seriously effed up after hour minimalism! Made for both djs and music lovers, this is the second long player by GummiHz to come out on vinyl after his debut album "Sleepless Nights" back in 2009! While it succeeds his latest EP, "Groove is in the Hertz". What makes it even more special is that it comes out on brainchild Claap, giving the artist total freedom of expression.

After his last release on Claap "Head Rush" last summer was snatched by the guys at Defected for the Defected In the House series, Alex is back with his next record aptly titled "Rejuvenation EP". This two tracker carries a pair of absolutely necessary house grooves. Rejuvenation features an elegant arpeggio which builds up to an intense crescendo bound to hypnotize dancefloors the world over. Intense but very elegantly produced it carries Alex's signature sound and explores a similar musical territory to Secret Voyage (CLAAP004) which has received overwhelming responses since its release. The motif on the flip side remains similar but with a more mature soundscape, showcasing Alex's endless sonic diversity. The track first appeared as a tool on our third release back in 2011. For the five years of the label, Nikola found it appropriate to rework on the tool and turn it into a powerful track. Its already been a couple of years since the debut release by BODJ on Claap. This young talent has not let the time pass in stagnant waters. On the contrary BODJ has been very concentrated with studio work as well as his dj residency holding the Audiorama nights at the infamous sixdogs club in Athens. The results are two stunning productions evident of the way BODJ's sound has matured and evolved to the right direction. His second solo EP on Claap titled "Irish burnout" features two very well crafted club tracks. Produced for the late hours, this EP sits right on the boundaries bewteen house and techno. Each track follows a moody sonic path reminicent of the dub side of techno, while at the same time the tempo is set to give each element plenty of space to develop within the arrangement. Next number on Claap and it is another special offering. For our 16th release we welcome new kid on the Berlin block Kindimmer. We have had an eye on this upcoming creative spirit in a while and everyone was buzzing at ClaapHQ when we got the tracks that Kindimmer sent over. The grooves on both tracks got us so hooked that we asked Kindimmer to produce locked grooves out of these beauties and turn this release into a locked album! On side A "Workz on dope" is a house groove reminiscent of that MCDE aesthetic but done in Kindimmer's own and unique production attitude. Hailing from Volos its by no luck that we have nicknamed Kindimmer as Volos city drum ensemble! Next to "Workz on dope" we have added 3 locked grooves full of elements appealing to the djs who like to work it while playing! On the flip "The distraction of fever" has that characteristic raw detroit vibe. Dominant stabs and a serious groove full of beeef! First up, Secret Voyage (CLAAP004) by GummiHz, is tranformed to an Afro house groove raised to spiritual heights by one of France's most prominent house producers. Based in Lyon Manoo is a name associated with quality productions and we are glad to have a remix of his on one of our most popular releases. The original has also been signed with Defected last year on the Defected ITH series by Osunlade. Another very special remix comes from one of New York's finest house dons Jerome Sydenham. Founder of the highly respected Ibadan records imprint, being a strong staple in the New York house scene since the late 80s, having brought to light more than just a few of today's household names like Joe Claussel, Dennis Ferrer and Kerri Chandler amongst a plethora of talent adding to his own great productions on the platform. 12th release on the label and this spring comes full of surprises. With our first compilation in sight titled "Alles Claap vol.1 presented by GummiHz" scheduled for June, label head Gummihz has invited some of his favourite producers to remix songs from the label's catalogue. Alles Claap vol.1 will see a series of four vinyl singles throughout spring with a double cd including 9 exclusive remixes and a very special dj mix by GummiHz, looking back on the label's lifespan in the past two years. This is the first single in the series featuring two great remixes from two constant forces in the club scene. These are none other than Jimpster and D'Julz. Jimpster is a name thats been associated with quality productions and has proved to be a constant creative force through the years, with various releases on esteemed labels ,as well as his own highly resprected Freerange imprint. Jamie gives a totally new spin on "White flowers" by GummiHz and Nikola Gala. Imagine that we are talking about an original that even has a part of a band playing a full jazz theme and Jamie found the way to bring even more action to this! Captivating stuff! On the flip side we are happy to have a remix from one of the modern staples in the french house front. D'Julz needs no introduction really. With a strong reputation for modern, swinging house grooves, Julien has released original music on many well established labels as well as his own exquisit Bass Culture imprint. New addition to the Claap roster and we welcome Moire Patterns debut EP on the label. To be honest this record is a vinyl sampler of Moire Patterns debut long player coming up on Claap! But lets not spoil all of the magic and keep some details secret still. Moire Patterns combines effortlessly disco, house and techno elements with a punk production attitude! All tracks have been performed live in Moire Patterns' in numerous studio sessions in the past months. If we were to talk geography to describe Niko's (to his friends) sound, then Detroit, San Franciso and Chicago are definetely on the map! Powerful, dancefloor focused and yet airy and deep, the record showcases Moire Patterns different moods and directions. "Deep down" is an excellent floor warmer, stripped down to the basics which urges you to get down! This song appears exclusively on the vinyl release. On the flip "It could only happen with you" has that characteristic raw detroit feel. A track full of energy that can cause serious heat issues on the dancefloor or even your living room! The remix on the same side comes from from Detroit's own Santonio Echols! Santonio needs no introduction really but for history's sake, he has been releasing productions with long time friend and associate Kevin Saunderson on their Reese & Santonio project with noumerous releases on KMS, as well as Chez Damier amongst a plethora of productions dating back to 1987! We cannot even describe how honoured we feel to have a true Detroit legend doing the remix work for us! Santonio has notched up the mood of the original song and has come up with a classy techy mix keeping the energy high all around. Zipping up your boots? We 're going back to the roots!

House up with Claap! Its all about self control and John Dimas is well aware of that. Carrying a string of releases on esteemed labels John has made a quite a reputation for himself bringing a classic Chicago style house sound with that irresistible Dimas signature swing! His tracks have been favourites with djs like D'Julz, Shonky, Loco Dice, Chez Damler amongst many others. To be honest, we are very honored to have these tracks carrying the Claap stamp. John starts off with 'Quick dance', a track which label head Alex Tsotsos better known as GummiHz has been spinning heavily in his sets since a while back. Fresh and bouncy. 'Quick dance' builds up effortlessly to an acid theme as a node to the UK! The title track self control sexes things up as a soft voice sings a chorus repeatedly over a filtered electric piano and a very dominant bassline. Reminiscent of the house sound in Chicago, it has sweat written all over it! Falling skies wraps up the package keeping the mood in swing mode. House music with great attitude which you can play next year too!!

Square room heroes are back on Claap with their debut EP. After releasing "Now is the time" (CLAAP005) back in September the heroes, George and George, have been busy working on new material. The two tracks featured on this EP comprise mainly of works from Thessaloniki's native George Boronas. Crashed detail with its enchanting string arrangement captivated label head GummiHz who immediately rushed to provide a powerful and dramatic interpretation of the original. We are also very excited to have a remix from one of the grooviest house heads around, none other than Ekkohaus. With a string of releases on labels like Moon Harbour, Liebe detail, Morris Audio to name only a few, Kostas Tassopoulos has established a signature sound full of swing and shake!! And his remix on Crashed detail does exactly that. Ekkohaus takes the stabs and chord arrangements to another level over his characteristic swinging beats. On the flip side Pitch the feelings is rough n tough funk reminiscent of early 90s beefy sampling. SRH's George Boronas has chopped a funk groove up to the point of delirium in an effort to pay his dues to influences such as dj Sneak and Carl Craig!! Essential stuff!! More

Next release on Claap coming up and it is another GummiHz affair! After his last release on Claap "Head Rush" last summer was snatched by the guys at Defected for the Defected In the House series, Alex is back with his next record aptly titled "Rejuvenation EP". This two tracker carries a pair of absolutely necessary house grooves. Rejuvenation features an elegant arpeggio which builds up to an intense crescendo bound to hypnotize dancefloors the world over. Intense but very elegantly produced it carries Alex's signature sound and explores a similar musical territory to Secret Voyage (CLAAP004) which has received overwhelming responses since its release. The motif on the flip side remains similar but with a more mature soundscape, showcasing Alex's endless sonic diversity. Add a bonus beatzz extract to round up an essential EP for the open air season and not only.

A fresh face in the scene, BODJ has already had a couple of releases under his belt and caused some serious heat with his "Blisters EP" back in 2010!! "Every Day" is an easy and very classy house cut. Quite emotive with flowing rhythm patterns, it is an ode to every day lovin! On the remix duties, These Days afficionado and man of the moment Argy takes the track into a sweatier territory with his NYC dub mix.
