The feel of this release ranges from a pragmatic spiritual funk to a loose heabangin’ frivolity. Docile 32 is 4/4 minimal held together by soulful synth and smart percussion advanced by ringing highs and detuned horns. Proper mathematics of programming moves a mix match of harmonies through a gauntlet of invisible edits gaining momentum until it is taken away. This is Docile music.

Docile #21 is a collection of elements that have been captured from unique sources and fused into fluid creations. Environment and progress of time are catalysts for a creation to form a process. Docile’s nameless and faceless process works to liberate a new sound and describe its’ own natural pattern.
Docile connects to the random to pull out patterns; those patterns can be honed down to construct a logical but abstract funk. Mistakes are made and processed and reworked into a melody. Nonsensical, indiscriminant, drunkin’ funk turns to soulful harmony with presence and conviction. The development of the Docile sound has evolved at its’ own pace over time. The assembly of sound is an intuitive process, and the acceptance of errors is a vital part of the Docile working method. Docile is a labor of love that takes a stand against mass produced music that an artist is well removed from. Docile has a hands-on dedication to every part of the vinyl process to ensure what you get is a legitimate effort. Team Docile are craftsmen that use their collective skills to produce vinyl with a unique quality and sense of style. The over all sound of Docile #20 can be described as soulfully dark, immature, and lovesick amid a funky party atmosphere. The personalities of each track nudge you to its direction with simple grooves that tell stories that are felt without words. Each new season must demonstrate progression, growth, and change. The 16th release in seven years, the latest from Docile promises to amaze the digital world while retaining our strong analog base. We stay in the midst of an ever evolving sound while expressing our own individuality. As an artist label, their goal is to provide a unique version of Detroit minimal. Old sensibilities are used to guide basic progression along a path of tweaks and burps. Ticks, clicks and melody are used to hold together the shifting center of a busy bop.
