Kamikaze Space Programme - Dust to Dust (Slave to Society Remix)
London based label Natural Selection present their 3rd release in the form of a 4-track physical and digital EP courtesy of Kamikaze Space Programme (aka Christopher Jarman), entitled "Ashes To Ashes, Dust To Dust EP". The release also features a remix from Slave To Society (ex AnD). Cut by Simon at The Exchange Vinyl and mastered by Dadub Studios, Berlin. Jarman is widely considered as one of the most forward thinking and innovative sound designers around. With roots indebted to the music he released as Raiden in the early 00's, his abstract, field recorded, industrial and broken admission into the annals of Techno via his prevailing alias; Kamikaze Space Programme, has seen his music backed, supported and released by the heaviest of renowned labels such as MORD, Mote-Evolver, Osiris, TRUST & more. As an avid field recording artist, Jarman's release by and large is made up of foley sound design and sonic experimentation using bespoke apparatus and homemade microphones. Capturing internal resonances and electromagnetic radiation of objects, re-amplified or organic, classic hardware dub mixing completes his instantly recognisable Kamikaze Space Programme aesthetic, and successfully traverses the divide between Techno, Drum and Bass, Electro and Breakbeat. Natural Selection are well known for bridging the heavier spectrum of Techno, Electro, Acid, etc. with new, experimental style and form. One can always expect cutting-edge, hard-hitting, underground electronics from Natural Selection, with extreme diversity in sound

Bristol's Kamikaze Space Programme joins the TRUST family with a blistering EP of industrial bass music. 'Stokes Croft' opens with none other than prolific Ninja Tune artist Emika as a guest, whose haunting vocals turn 'Choke' into an ear-catching hybrid of industrial bass electro and gothic pop. Three percussive bangers further elaborate Chris Jarman's philosophy of crafting hard-edged beats from found and self-recorded sounds rather than worn and tired presets - head-strong, futuristic, and ready to obliterate stylistic stagnation with sonic innovation.

Planetary Assault Systems is one of UK techno veteran Luke Slater's most enduring aliases, a project focused on forward-thinking techno with maximum cerebral impact. 'In From The Night' came out in 1993 as part of the 'Planetary Funk Vol 1 EP' on Peacefrog and has remained an underground favourite since.
Here on his own Mote-Evolver label, Slater revisits the track with a fresh perspective across two edits and an interpretation from Drumcode's Adam Beyer and celebrated Brazilian DJ/producer Webbha. The techno titans team up to deliver a remix with thunderous energy as tense synths patterns loop, evolve, and grow ever more edgy as the track unfolds throughout.
On the flip, the first 'P.A.S. Edit' is a potent touch-up that finds pounding drums overlaid with raw and textural synth patterns alongside occasional crashing claps and a rising sense of dark cosmic energy. The 'P.A.S. Live Edit' unfolds in broken patterns and reverberates with menace as more searing synth lines fire across the dance floor.

INFO
This October, LaFontaine and Orbe drop the seventh chapter of Mote-Evolver's 'Parallel Series', curated by label founder Luke Slater.
After the first release by Luke Slater (as L.B.Dub Corp) and ASC in 2011, the 'Parallel Series' has continued to host split releases from the likes of Shifted, Rene Wise, Billy Turner, Bas Mooy, Developer, Truncate, Sev Dah, Jeff Rushin, and more.
The seventh instalment on Mote-Evolver sees 199X Recordings founder LaFontaine debut on the label following releases on Planet X and Negativ Notion. Kicking off the release is '3015', a track that immediately captured the ears of Slater after Ø [Phase] played it during b2b live stream in his studio. The resonating kicks, detuned synths and off-kilter sonics pulsate strikingly throughout before 'Kokkur' keeps the hypnotic energy flowing with aquatic fx, deep space pads and oscillating grooves.
Fernando Sanz and his Orbe Records imprint has been lashing the block-rocking techno of Sanz's comrades Eduardo De La Calle and Steve Stoll, but mainly of Sanz's prolific moniker, Orbe. He provides murky soundscapes, smoky chords and orbiting drums in his '9DVR' cut until 'Trimax' rounds off the release with kinetic synth flutters and glistening bleeps that ebb and flow with the ghostly atmospheres.

Steve Rachmad, aka Sterac returns to Luke Slater's Mote-Evolver imprint this May to release the 'Numbers' EP.
Since his earliest days in the scene, Amsterdam's Steve Rachmad has created a legion of monikers to cover his compositions' variety and broadness. One of them being Sterac which focuses on the deeper and more obscure end of the techno genre. The Sterac discography consists of signature cuts, spread out over genre-defining labels such as M-Plant, Tresor, Klockworks, Afterlife, Mote-Evolver, Indigo Aera, and Delsin.
His 'Numbers' EP sees Steve drop the first release of 2021 under his Sterac alias as he makes a return to Luke Slater's Mote-Evolver label with four tunnelling techno tracks.
Kicking off the release is 'Ghost 37', which employs vacillating grooves, ominous synths and intricate mechanics before 'Lost Track 22' fuses sizzling 303s, dynamic drums and mammoth, alien-sounding modulations.
On the flip, 'Rey Fur 2.1' keeps the energy flowing with a high-impact clapper featuring bustling fx and expansive tones until 'Tr-15' masterfully rounds off the EP with twisting synth flutters, rattling highs and hypnotic bass grooves intricately unfolding underneath.

True to the DNA of Luke Slater's imprint, Rene Wise fires off a throbbing combination of big room-ready 4/4 mechanics, high-velocity bass and hypnotic acideries on a dopey, dubby flex - engineering the tools of chaos for a highly immersivedive into the basement's teeming underworld and its nocturnal fauna.

Fresh off the new album we welcome the arrival of a limited L.B Dub Corp single. Opening proceedings, 'See The Light' unveils a soulful and vocal driven side to the L.B.Dub Corp sound, whilst 'We Are going Home' switches up the aesthetic and movesinto duskier, percussion driven territories. Last up, Slater punctuates the EP with the intricate, snaking sonics of 'Calling The Spirit', harnessing slick, skipping hats and a hypnotic, ever-evolving lead line.

(180 gr vinyl incl. DL card) Following its launch in 2006, Slater's L.B. Dub Corp moniker has been responsible for refreshing house music on labels like Mote-Evolver and Ostgut Ton, with the latter hosting the pseudonym's debut album in 2013. 'Side Effects’ is the project’s first body of work since then. “I wrote the tracks over the last year between being on the road as P.A.S. and playing a few L.B. Dub Corp house sets, which naturally evolved into ‘Side Effects’ almost accidentally” – Luke Slater

His hard-edged beats, insistent tones, and occasional flash of devious humor make Deutschmann a natural addition to the Mote-Evolver roster: his natural versatility and clear-minded futurism result in compelling club tracks and DJ nights, and his Mote Evolver debut EP Lost In A Loop is no exception to this rule. With just a simple schematic to work with, Deutschmann does what the best producers do and enlivens those simple instructions until they give an illusion of greater complexity.
