18 Months after serving up his debut LP ''Fallen'', D'Marc Cantu returns to his other home from home, Crème Organization. He’s back with a six track EP, Alternate Frequency, that sees him explore the same prickly analogue house and techno that has made him into the revered producer he is today. The title track opens up the EP with fizzing analogue synth lines and a nervous, howling melody before acid, muffled vocals and coarse claps all get chucked into the dense sci-fi mix. 'Size And Shape' is a more propulsive and dancefloor facing track. Surfing along on a lively kick drum, repeated vocal phrases interact with choppy percussion, glowing pads light up the backdrop and a delightfully lively melody runs amok at the centre of it all. Like an old school garage house track in overdrive, it’s full of charm. 'Straight Shooter' is then a zithering, 100 mile an hour piece of skeletal acid techno that grows ever more frantic and 'Tazakuro' is a liv ely anal ogue brew of cowbells, freewheeling synths and tumbling drums. ‘Titanium Control Arms’ lurks deep in outer space with the humdrum of intergalactic space travel gurgling all around the central melodic motif and 'Speed Freak' is just that, a hyper-driven bit of electro with frantic percussion and riddled with unnerving synth lines that makes you want to jiggle every bone in your body.

Michigan resident D'Marc Cantu serves up his next album on the ever-excellent MOS Recordings on June 11th 2012. Though essentially a house and techno producer, American Cantu often goes further than most, calling on a world of influences to ensure his jacking productions are as far away from standard as possible, yet still do damage on the right dancefloors as have previous EPs on this label, Nation and Crème Organization. His latest offering, A New World, aims to capture, detail and relay many different stories from within the re-born city of Detroit. Across the course of eight tracks, many different moods and styles are explored from dark and abstract to more synth lead and serene. There are plenty of squelchy acid lines and frantic percussive workouts, but so too are there pockets of slower, deeper, dubbier introspection that speak of mystery and intrigue as does the city of Detroit itself. Says D’Marc of the album.. "Detroit, MI has a rich history and is filled with amazing people and I wanted to capture what I feel every time I go there. With every song there’s an evolution that leads you to a new yet familiar place. These songs all have a story and each revolves around the concept of growth, community and rebuilding. Originally released in a limited edition of 500 copies in 1982 Monoton’s second album ‘Monotonprodukt 07’ is now a collector item and also one of the most important album of all-time. It has been voted one of the 100 best records by highly influential UK magazine The Wire. Monoton was founded in 1979 by hypermedia wizard Konrad Becker as an art project that underwent various transformations and collaborations in its exploration of psycho-active sound. A pioneer in experimental electronic music, Becker continued to break new ground in electronic media.‘Monotonprodukt 07’ has been reissued on vinyl by desire (and is still available as a double picture-discs limited to 500 copies. It’s the first time ever that tracks from the album are remixed and desire is proud to had such great artists/producers as US Prositutes, Svengalighost with fellow partner and L.I.E.S. boss and Hospital Productions artist Ron Morelli. Monoton ‘Monotonprodukt 02’, also known as MP02, is the debut album of Austrian electronic maverick Konrad Becker. Out in 1980 it was a precursor of the minimal techno dub sound that was starting to be popular more than 15 years after. The album has been reissued by desire a couple of years ago and a new pressing is in the work. Anyway it’s time to launch a remix EP with new (and not so new) producers giving crédit to the work of the Austrian master. On the A side we find 3 new artists paying their dues : Sergie Rezza, whose debut album out on desire was critically acclaimed, Abdulla Rashim (Abdulla Rashim Records / Northern Electronics / Semantica) and also Opal Tapes’ boss Stephen Bishop own Basic House. The B-side is a great megamix of the album tracks by the one and only ambient/electronica veteran Scanner !

This music encompasses two worlds, lives in between territories - between techno and noise, the far end of a darkened club and a dreaming mind’s afterthoughts. Very earthly and deeply rooted, it sometimes appears fragmented, full of sonic embroideries, full of sonic dirt, even. Like two universes colliding, imploding one on the other, giving birth to a new space, without boundaries or restraints. Something to dance to, on a spaceship. Sergie Rezza is the musical meeting of Romain Poncet and DJ Deep. In DJ Deep’s words there has been a “magical click” between him and Romain, when (after releasing the “Opening Moment EP” on Deeply Rooted) they both decided to meet in Romain’s studio. “I think there is something that matches between Romain’s unique energy, enthusiasm and ability to focus and develop his craft of making music and the passion I have for music in it’s various forms and concepts. What we do together is very different from the Romain Poncet records or from what I would personally produce by myself. In the process of working together we experimented on sound quite a lot and playing with atmospheres and beats. It feels like we found our own path in using sounds in a very specific way and playing with textures and feelings”.
