About RVDS : He may have been actively involved in music since the ‘80s, but Richard von der Schulenburg has managed to remain something of a cult proposition even as he now moves alongside respected outfits such as Smallville and Uncanny Valley, also based in his hometown of Hamburg. As RVDS the producer has largely issued his music himself through the It’s label, starting out with the Hausarrest 12” in 2008, while stopping off at Laid to deliver the excellent Moon Oddity single and plenty more lunar-minded releases besides. One particular favourite was the Summer EP, which is a fine display of the idiosyncratic approach von der Schulenburg takes when making hardware-rooted house music.

As well as his production exploits he has also been a resident at Golden Püdel for the past 11 years, long before it was so hotly tipped on the international party circuit. After the Moments album released five years ago, a new RVDS long-player has arrived in the form of Shadows. It’s a sizable 12-track effort spread over three discs, bringing a different mood to his previous work. As you can tell from the opening track “Shadows 1”, which is available to stream in full below, there’s more space afforded to atmospheric pieces and less concern on dancefloor dynamics. That’s not to say there’s a lack of house beats on the album, but as ever with the sound of RVDS, the emphasis is placed on the synths rather than drums.

"Beat the Heat" is a kind of Italo-percussion- weirdo and "Love on the beach" is absolutely Soul, electronic Barry White on Acid. The electronic based pop group, Shari Vari, founded by Helena Ratka and Sophia Kennedy, is about to release its first EP, Life Should Be a Holiday, of 5 pieces produced and recorded
by the duo under broke and alcoholic circumstances. Each piece deals with the traditional forms of song writing by ignoring them – the rules and structures. … the "diving" occurs when the flexible part of the larger container is pressed inwards, increasing the pressure in the larger container, causing the "diver" to sink to the bottom until the pressure is released, when it rises back to the surface …
Felix Kubin presses the sound of the cartesian diver to the surface, which generate three music masterpieces: "I can't sleep", an ode to insomnia, "Polarisation", two poles of Kubinski dadaism and "Taucher", which starts very deep under the sea and struggle with full pressure and energy to the surface. The cartesian diver is alive!

Subsequently, the physicist Joachim Knoth (1941-2004) developed a patent for precise measurement of defects in semiconductor chips. In 10 sequenced based electronic miniatures, Felix Kubin, who presently consists of dangerous uninsulated powerlines, conducts the TXRF through an acoustical test arrangement. The experiment consists solely of a synthesizer, filter and sequencer. Full-bodied consecutive organisms arise out of which kaleidescopic irridescent blossoms sprout. At times they appear as acoustic by-products of high energy discharges on an X-ray picture and sometimes as quiescent fluorescent images. Who knows when the experiment will come to an end? Will X-rays break at irregularities? Will transparent ears crawl over fixtures and make laboratory benches corrode? In view of the entire event's musical beauty, all these questions are completely unimportant.

"A different Jimi" Siebels lives in Hamburg. He runs a label, a studio and has recently become a devoted dj after being a producer (Ego Express, Sand11, A Different Jimi) for more than a decade.
Pascal Fuhlbrügge lives in Hamburg. He hosts the monthly radioshow "Im wesentlichen Clubmusik" (Mostly Clubmusic) on Byte.fm. He also produces theatre soundtracks and music for other artists.
Pascal Fuhlbrügge on It`s 03: "When I did a soloalbum in 2005 that contained a lot of songs about dancing and almost no dance music, I thought that my life with repetitive electronic music might be over. Three years later, Jimi invites me to visit his new studio. We end up producing a new track. To my surprise it feels very lighthearted, new and exciting to me. I hope you can hear some of that in ‚The Belles.'
‚Two Deep ‚is my favourite track of Jimi's recent productions. It might not be as easily accessible as his hit "I don`t know why you say" (It`s 01), but it`s even deeper, more hypnothic - an adventure on the dancefloor, with everything heading towards the song's one and only chord change about 5 minutes into the track."

How what is that? LOST WHISTLE – an ode to Ilse Werner (a German whistle artist) or the whistle school in La Gomera? In any case it is a hit which makes you afraid of, because there is magic on it. MARZIPAN NIGHTMARE – simply to explain: you take 800g raw almond paste and eat this immediately before you’re going to sleep. The result is that ! HAUSARREST / NICHT ZU HAUSE (House arrest / Not at home)– an ode to house and „Haus“music,which is the german expression for >>music-making in the home<<. Fine track! Yes, he is a member of Egoexpress. But no, he isn't Egoexpress. He is a different Jimi. After Egoexpress, he went back to school again, an undertaking he has since dismissed, despite a top grade point average, to become a musician (again). He plays the recorder, badly but enthusiastically but that is of no real account because for him, the music happens in the clubs.Since early 2007, A Different Jimi has been at the turntables - with disproportionate success - and has a residency in Hamburg’s renowned Golden Pudel Club (where he hosts the party series Fit for Jazz, Unfit For Jazz and Fuck For Jazz). Apart from this solo project, he works in collaboration with Die Sterne synthplayer Richard von der Schulenburg and the future megastar Gay Mc. And now, on the side, he and his congenial buddies have founded the label it's. As the label’s first official act, the president of it's (Jimi) has released his own solo-debut 12". You might think: it's that easy, isn't it? ut those who know A Different Jimi, know that master Jimsen never makes it easy for himself. Like a conscientious smithy, he hammers and drives until all those little pony feet are hooved and clad with the best of shoes.And if that iron isn’t at least 100% excellent, then it’s goes back into the fire. But finally three hot irons have made it on to black gold. Two of them will get you gallopping across the dancefloor: "1753 Angelo" and "I Don't Know Why You Say". Two poppy House tracks - because House is the sound of now and exploding harmonies are Jimi's unique way of conquering dullness with a different kind of musical euphoria. The third track "My Hang" has the beauty of a moondog composition, something that is more than hard to find these days.At long last - something really fine.

DJ Plead kicks things off with his signature bass heavy sound on his version of The Yuzer, setting a high bar for what’s to come. Accompanying him on the A-side are a couple of cuts from label founder Dauwd. The first, “Electronic Live Mix” of SpaceSamba is inspired by Dauwd’s live performance at Mutek 2022 while his Deep Dub Mix of The Yuzer could be some of his best work to date on the imprint. Soela is the DJ and production alias of Elina Shorokhova, a Russia-born Berlin-based experienced pianist and vocalist who has made a hugely impactful transition into electronic music. Having released material on such labels as Kompakt, Dial, Shall Not Fade, Lost Palms, E-Beamz, Red Ember Records, Sushitech, and others, Soela joins the ranks of Scissor & Thread for this exquisite album - Dark Portrait.
The album opens in a typically understated manner with Unsuitable - a melancholic trip-hop adjacent track that sets the tone for the next 8 pieces. As Soela explains, “I was dealing with some very complex feelings, so I came up with this album, which helped me not to despair, to work on myself, to grow internally, and to start listening to myself. It helped me to keep sane when my country invaded Ukraine with a full scale war. It absolutely broke my heart, and music was one of my main salvations.”
This complex mix of emotions plays out across the album with tracks that utilize her beautiful musicality (Through the Windows feat. Francis Harris and Philipp Priebe, Drowning feat. Module One) and ear for details with skittering beats, ambient soundscapes (Spirits, Lost In The Fog) and lose-yourself dancefloor moments such as the collaboration with Lawrence on February Is Not Going To Be Forever. The title track Dark Portrait combines dubby elements with affecting pads and melodic touches, while the lead single Even If I Ask You Stay delves into multiple feelings around escaping toxic situations, and battling depression. It features a powerful vocal from Soela supported by a deeply affecting arrangement. "Dreamwalks" as well as the other songs on "A Dive Into the Subconscious" musically reflect the emotional level of memories and experiences of the producer. Drips Zacheer deals with central issues of his life, such as family, friends, travel and also fears and tries to reach the subconscious of his listeners through this sound game. The appropriately playful cover designs come from the Berlin artist and illustrator Rahel Süßkind.
Drips Zacheer is a real beatgeek on the midi controller. The 25-year-old musician has been producing hip-hop instrumentals for almost ten years, which are based on LoFi, Chill-Hop, BoomBap, jazz and also progressive rock and Bossanova. Until he was 19 he grew up in Chalkida, the capital of the Greek island of Evia, until he moved to Rhethymno on Crete to study audio engineering. He started out in 2011 as a producer for a befriended hip-hop crew, and in 2016 he began producing beats for himself. Since then he has established himself as one of the most relevant producers in the Greek beat scene and with his choice of sounds shows that he has a knack for vinyl samples and harmonic arrangements. His upcoming album "A Dive Into the Subconscious" makes it clear that instrumentals are not only used as a background for rappers, but have earned their own standing in the scene. Drips Zacheer produces beats to listen and linger - a little journey into your own subconscious.

We Release Whatever The Fuck We Want Records is thrilled and honored to announce the first ever official vinyl pressing of the soundtrack for Mamoru Oshii's critically acclaimed and all around legendary science fiction anime film GHOST IN THE SHELL (1995), adapted from Masamune Shirow's groundbreaking manga series of the same name.

Cut from the original master reels at Emil Berliner Studios (formerly the in-house recording department of renowned classical record label Deutsche Grammophon), the album comes as a LP accompanied by a bonus one-sided 7" housed in official Ghost in the Shell artwork sleeve with silver gilt printing and a Japanese obi, and contains extensive 24-page liner notes.

The haunting score is composed by Kenji Kawai, one of Japan's most celebrated soundtrack composers, alongside Joe Hisaishi and Ry?ichi Sakamoto, whose work includes Hideo Nakata's Ring (1998) and Ring 2 (1999), Death Note (2006), Hong Kong films Seven Swords by Tsui Hark (2005) and Ip Man by Wilson Yip (2008), and countless others. Kawai's compositions see ancient harmonies and percussions uncannily mesh with synthesized sounds of the modern world to convey a sumptuous balance between folklore tradition and futuristic outlook. For its iconic main theme "Making of Cyborg", Kawai had a choir chant a wedding song in ancient Japanese following Bulgarian folk harmonies, setting the standard for a timeless and unparalleled soundtrack that admirably echoes the film's musings on the nature of humanity in a technologically advanced world.

Ghost in the Shell is widely considered one of the best anime films of all time and its influence has been felt in the work of numerous movie directors, including James Cameron (Avatar), the Wachowskis (The Matrix), and Steven Spielberg (AI: Artificial Intelligence).

Release Info:
It’s been a long way. All seems to blend naturally with ‘A Long Way’, the debut album from Parisian duo Jacques Bon & Drux.

Jacques is a long term friend, who was running the Paris branch of the Smallville record store for 13 years (2006 – 2019). He made himself a name also outside of Paris as a DJ and with music released on Giegling, Kann, Mule Musiq and of course Smallville. Jacques shares his studio in Paris with Vincent Drux, a producer and sound engineer, who recently started his own imprint Cabale Records. Both got together naturally in the studio for hour-long sessions to craft an album together. House music at its most meticulous form.

First, as a short form, in which every track captures another time zone of the dancefloor experience. And then as longform, as a whole album with a narrative that combines futuristic aesthetics, classic ethos and human warmth.

From the rolling percussion and windy-city style bassline of opener ‘Distant Voices’, with its cut yet longing distant voices, through deepy, dubby and raw ‘Celeste’, the haunting synths of ‘Mirage’; The snares that arrive mid through ‘Space Ways’ and launch into another level; ‘Radiance’’s Techy vibe ride; The late night chords and peak time beat programming of ‘Your Wings’; And then final couple stick the landing with enough energy, deepness and beauty - ‘Elevate’, which channels Bon and Drux’s inner Fred P, and ‘Sandstorm’, a mastery percussive tale with a long, repetitive chord that opens and closes, teases until it disappears and remains nothing but a whispery dying effect.

Following the success of their EPs released last year on Scissor and Thread, Frank & Tony return with another outing of deeper than deep house with a three track EP including an expansive collaborative exploration with Comatonse recording artist Will Long.
The title track, Understanding takes a nod to 90s Chicago deep house with a slow rolling groove set against plush pads and euphoric stabs sure to send dancefloors swirling in the earliest of nights and mornings alike. We Begin, a dreamy trip of emotive soundscapes, kicks things up a notch with jazzy undertones but a drive meant for peak times as it unfolds in moods and grooves for ages.
The EP then culminates with a vast rework of the same track in collaboration with Comatonse artist and DJ Sprinkles collaborator, Will Long, pushing the EP to psychedelic lengths as the essence of what we call a house groove reaches new idiosyncratic heights. Essential.
