Blaxx himself excels in lush house productions with plenty of soul and a lot of dance floor knowledge. The EP’s title track 'It’s Been Done Before' gives a healthy nod to the hugely fertile period of New York house in the 1990s, but retains a freshness and spark that sets it apart from many of his contemporaries. It’s highly musical and organic, with hugely effective hooks, builds and pads that will bring smiles to the faces of dancers worldwide. 'Gilmore Heureux' is a darker affair, with a raw evolving groove with a Detroit flavor. It’s got plenty of grit, and a few innovative twists and turns along the way. 'All the Difference' slows the pace slightly, unwinding a killer groove driven by a piano and punchy drums. Max Heesen, (who is also one half of Ribn with Manuel Tur) delivers the smartly titled 'Central Heated House' for Steve Bug's Dessous Recordings.
The LP format suits Langenberg's hypnotic house classicism well, allowing time and space to stretch out the grooves and moods over four sides of vinyl - working both for the DJs and perfect as a soundtrack for the autumn.
The LP kicks off with 'Jade', a melancholic, tape saturated introduction to Langenberg's deep tastes. 'Room 210' maintains this atmosphere, with fizzing percussion and warm Detroit-esque melodies.
'Groove 26' is perfectly timed for the hot summer, as lush Rhodes chords and KDJ style vocal snippets provide the heat for the openair vibes.

'The Journey' opens through supple drum movement and glowing Rhodes figures that unfurl lazily across the groove, as little chord flourishes flicker at the edges like light catching dust through half-drawn curtains. 'Love Is' softens the mood further through hazy vocal vapour and richly upholstered keys that melt gently into the rhythm. On the flip, 'Free Your Mind' introduces firmer rhythmic pressure without disturbing the record's low-lit sensuality. 'Da Jazz' closes things beautifully through brushed percussion and featherlight piano motifs with a rolling swing that feels most elegant in its looseness. Very classy deep house, this.

It's always a treat here at Circus Company to be able to shed the light on a lesser known talent. After all, it's a philosophy we have built the label on, but there's no denying we need to have that personal connection with the artists whose music we release. In the case of San Francisco act Moniker, our own dear Dave Aju has a previous history with Kenneth Scott from the duo, having lent some vocals to his 2009 jam “What Do I Do?” So it is that we come to release this, the first fully fledged vinyl offering from Scott and his studio partner Emilio Orlandi after years spent treating Californian crowds to their live, hardware-driven sound. The machines definitely rule the roost in the world of Moniker, but unlike so much of the current obsession with analogue noise and the lo-fi aesthetic, Scott and Orlandi instead coax heartfelt emotion and hand-crafted grooves
from an array of beat boxes and synthesisers without making any self-conscious moves to demonstrate how .undigita' they are. Instead, the music takes priority, coming forth in soothing waves of harmonious chords, captivating leads and understated drums that speak volumes for simplicity and soul within deep house. The live aspect of Moniker's mission undoubtedly shines through, manifesting itself in smart switch-ups and breakdowns, impulsive edits and subtle variations that can only result from an on-the-fly jam. Mainly though, this is an exercise
in satisfaction, speaking to the same pleasure neurons that would have been tickled the first time you heard Metro Area. In keeping with the warm tones of the original material, Patrice Scott makes for a thoroughly welcome addition to the fold. The Detroit deep house legend has forged his own elegant path through his releases and his excellent Sistrum imprint, always able to conjure up an otherworldly atmosphere by capitalising on the hypnotic qualities that are possible with 4/4. Here he takes A side track “Billy D” and runs it a hot bath of shimmering pads and
submerged acid, while the beat snaps forth with an urgency that offsets the ambient elements perfectly. It's as refined a slice of house music as you could ever wish for, and as such it couldn't be amongst better company than Moniker.

Argentinian DJ and producer, Ernesto Ferreyra, provided Cadenza with a rich and inspirational album back in 2010, the intricate and balanced "El Paraíso De Las Tortugas" was a masterclass in minimal electronic dance. Four years on, and Ernesto returns to Luciano's label with the 'Insight' single, and a precursor to another album for the label, slated for October release. "Voltage Poem" displays a huge progression for Ernesto, a stomping, elastic backbeat, peppered with live percussion, shakers and micro glitches dances around the mechanical funk of the bassline. A Jamaican poet waxes lyrical, a gem of a vocal "with me riddim, with my rhyme, with me rough bassline, with me own sense of time", as Ernesto get's busy on the delays and reverbs, really dubbing out various elements and creating a real trip of a track. A highly accomplished composition here from Ernersto, and one that really points to some of the goodies we can expect on his forthcoming long player. On the flip, "There Is No Answer" is another playful slice of tripped out dance. A solid groove and frenetic drum pattern is tied down with deep and melodic chords, a lone male voice asks the question (to which there is no answer?), static crackling and radio frequencies humming in the background whilst the hi-hats cut through sharp to keep the energy levels shining. A great return from Ernesto, and a single that nicely builds up some anticipation for his second album for Cadenza, later this year.

First up, our homeboy Phil Evans, aka "the coach” aka daddy cool, with Chocolate Funk. Imagine warm pads, crispy drums, and a bassline so addictive it should come with a warning. Add his signature offbeat stabs and a swing smoother than the creamy drizzle on kimchi fries, and you’ve got a groove that lingers long after the needle lifts.
Fresh blood incoming! Wavelength Infinity marks the Pager debut of the Parisians Aline Umber & Maxime dB, and they’re making waves. Deep, undulating basslines meet shimmering pads in a hypnotic blend of rhythm and texture. It’s a groove-roller that pulls you in faster than a free drink at the bar.
Flip it over, and California Sunshine Boy Rocky delivers debut number two with Aquatic Maneuvers. Flowing pads and bubbling percussion weave together a lush, evolving soundscape. Organic and intricate, it shifts like underwater currents, with each layer wrapping around you like the warm embrace of an after-hours vibe you never want to end!
And then there’s the Gude-Launebär himself—Markus Sommer, aka Frau Hommer, answering the eternal question: Does it Funk? Spoiler: absolutely. Rolling basslines, sharp percussion, and cheeky melodic twists come together. This is Hommer energy at its peak!

Following his great contribution to our "Deep Love" series we now welcome him with these two unique tracks. Ranging from House to Disco and Jazz influences, Kito found his very own style and switches easily between them. Up tempo and energetic tracks with great melodies, driving bass lines and clever sample use.
To complete this fine package we asked one of our all time fave producers and almost neighbour of Kito, Roberto Rodriguez from Helsinki, He turned "Do You Know Me" into a deep and bass heavy beast, much more stripped than the original tune he managed to make a true dance floor Gem of a remix. The second Man on remix duty is our Boy Nachtbraker from Rotterdam, also a Dirt Crew fave and meanwhile a household name for great melodic house jams. He added a brilliant bass line and cut the original "A Thousand Times" up to turn it in a true Nachtbraker tune.
A very cosmopolitan affair this is and musically one great record we are very proud of to release!
