'Self Knowledge' is a deep, techy roller clocking it at nearly 10 mins - plenty of space to expand into its full potential - the groove grows ever more hypnotic and engaging as the track unfolds.
Next up is 'A Reefa' - a non too subtle reference to a certain herb that might have inspired this loose yet highly funky deep house jam.
'Casa De Estrela' changes the vibe up with a more direct and jacking track - even though it would work at prime time, Chocky's feel for space and drama make sure the track will be heard in many diverse surrounding and sets this year.

IvanLatyshev is a record producer and DJ with more than 10-years experience, having grown up in Russia's cultural epicentre of St Petersburg. Developing a love for deep house, the young producer has been releasing his perfectly-realised club tunes on labels such as Toolroom, and now provides us with a second outing on Dessous Recordings. The Art of Flying EP presents two original tracks and a pair of remixes of the lead cut.
The original 'Art of Flying' is quite a statement - a jazzy, swingy beat introduces the track, before solidifying around punchy 4 / 4 groove. Restless synths drift in and out resulting in a track that is both exceptionally funky and deeply wonky - topped off with a killer spoken word vocal.
The ever-dependable Eddie Fowlkes steps up on remix duties and supplies a more jacking interpretation, adding a filthy bassline on his Fly Mix.
The same track also gets a 'Crazy Dub' rework which expands the space within the track and strips it down for maximum club effect.

James Dexter's star has been rising for a while now - the young Brit turning out killer tracks regularly on the back of hugely well received DJ sets. On his second outing for Dessous Recordings, Dexter does what he does best - four slices of deep, funky and vibing house music for the floor.
Lead track 'Drift' is typical of Dexter's flair for subtle, edgy sounds, wrapped inside a warm and inviting groove. Elements come and go, but the shuffling, infection feel runs throughout.
'Take Me' is a more upfront vibe with a seriously bumping groove - Dexter clearly well versed in the roots of house music from Chicago.
'Whose Rules ?' is a snappy, bright and lively production, with a sub bass that will troubler some of the world's best club systems in the coming months. The light, jazzy vocals offsets the groove perfectly - sure to be a big tune for a wide variety of DJs.
The last track of the release is 'Disco Deep' - and it pretty much does exactly what it says - a swung, groovy feel punctuated by disco claps and balearic flourishes that will sound as good on the beach as in the basement.

Hailing from Japan, Iori Wakasa is a name that has been gathering a great deal of hype over the past few years - and with good reason. Having built up his skills as a majorly talented DJ in Tokyo spinning a wide range of sounds and styles, his reputation continues to grow at pace thanks to a string of amazing releases on labels such as Highgrade and WirSindEins in recent years - not to mention strong support by some of the scene's biggest names. Here he proves what all the fuss is about - a stunning three track EP on Steve Bug's Dessous Recordings.
'Be There' starts things off right - uber deep vibes throughout, with bubbling synths and spacey effects, all tied together by a hypnotic Chandler-esque rhythm track.
'Give Me' continues the vibe, deep and jazzy chords punctuate the shuffling rhythm and trippy vocal samples add a layer of wonkiness that will see this get a lot of attention.
'Feel It Dizzy' strips things down a notch, a bass heavy dancefloor filler with dubbed out percussion, effects and vocals snippets.
A triumphant EP from Iori Wakasa - truly one to watch.

After a considerable career releasing on numerous labels, as well as being co-founder of Essen based label Mild Pitch, Langenberg finally drops his first album under this alias. Max Heesen, (who is also one half of Ribn with Manuel Tur) delivers the smartly titled 'Central Heated House' for Steve Bug's Dessous Recordings.
The LP format suits Langenberg's hypnotic house classicism well, allowing time and space to stretch out the grooves and moods over four sides of vinyl - working both for the DJs and perfect as a soundtrack for the autumn.
The LP kicks off with 'Jade', a melancholic, tape saturated introduction to Langenberg's deep tastes. 'Room 210' maintains this atmosphere, with fizzing percussion and warm Detroit-esque melodies.
'Groove 26' is perfectly timed for the hot summer, as lush Rhodes chords and KDJ style vocal snippets provide the heat for the openair vibes.
The single from earlier this year 'Shadows' features the talents of vocalist Blakkat, and caused some serious response when it hit airwaves and dancefloors alike.
'Never Worry' is a heads down roller, built around a simple but perfectly executed bassline, while 'Dreamliner' is trippy laidback sunshine house all the way. 'I'll Be Late' and 'Planitz Proposal' step back into the club, with Langenberg's signature crisp percussion, crunchy hits and analog synth wizardry on full display. 'Rain & Roses' closes out the album in a similar way to how it started wistful, thoughtful house music with soul.

Timmy P's latest outing on Dessous Recordings continues the long list of illustrious labels that have been home to his house vision. Now based in London, Timmy has a string of emphatic releases under his belt, not least on influential imprints such as Local Talk, Extended Play, Dirt Crew and MadTech.
With Safety First, Timmy's playful approach to the deeper side of house shines though. The title track mixes crisp, crunchy drums with warm, soft pads and a bubbling bass line - a deep rolling cut with plenty of punch for the floor. The fantastically named 'Grim Fandango' is a little tougher, with the snares and claps snapping tightly over a taut, un-resistible vibe. Timmy's balance of dynamics is masterful, each element perfectly complimenting each other to create a tour de force over 8 minutes.
'Bosh' is similarly crafted - the original echoing classic 90s house but feeling completely fresh for 2016, while James Dexter's remix is a robust, deep roller. This is house music made with joy and passion.

Long an unsung hero of the underground, Langenberg (a.k.a Max Heesen) has a string of quality releases to his name, both on his own solo as a part of his Ribn moniker with Manuel Tur. This outing on Dessous Recordings provides yet another string to his bow; 'Shadows' is a supremely soulful outing featuring the vocal talents of Blakkat. Liquid deep and balanced perfectly between euphoric and melancholic, 'Shadow' sees Mark Bell (Blakkat) deliver an emotional invocation over a beautifully crafted track, with echoes of the master Larry Heard clearly present.

Also included on the vinyl release are two extraordinary remixes - UK legend Atjazz providing a sumptuously realized fusion of melody and driving, dance-floor urgency.

Brooklyn's house veterans Frank & Tony (Scissor & Thread) drop a huge remix of their own to complete the package - serving up their distinctive and timeless NYC deep and raw vibes to complement Langenberg's original fully.

Always eager to champion new talent, Dessous Recordings unearth a precious gem from Brussels-based Lockwood, a duo comprising childhood friends Gert-Jan Haegeman and Billy Hillaert. 'Let's Talk' sets out their stall: a shuffling, shimmying groove upon which an unruffled bassline and blue-tinged jazz chords blissfully coast. This is warm, dreamy, house so deliciously laidback and soulful that it never outstays its 9-minute running time. The choppy, busy handclaps and ridiculously over-the-top squidgy bass of "Sway" explore different territory - frenetic synth-funk shimmering with layers of synth and zingy repetitions. 'Yearning' for its part melds a tough, rubbery tick to cycling keys and choric pads. It's the bass that's the star here, bending the tune around its abrasive low-end. Meanwhile, Nils Penner underpins "Let's Talk" with a huge, booming bassline and brings its spoken-word sample to the fore: a treatment which somehow retains the magic of the original's vibe while lending it a dark, glittering technoid edge.

Alex Blaxx drops three original tracks for Dessous Recordings following a couple of very well received releases on Buzzing Fly and Sccucci Manucci. Blaxx now resides in Manchester by way of Cape Town - both cities with strong house music credentials. Blaxx himself excels in lush house productions with plenty of soul and a lot of dance floor knowledge. The EP’s title track 'It’s Been Done Before' gives a healthy nod to the hugely fertile period of New York house in the 1990s, but retains a freshness and spark that sets it apart from many of his contemporaries. It’s highly musical and organic, with hugely effective hooks, builds and pads that will bring smiles to the faces of dancers worldwide. 'Gilmore Heureux' is a darker affair, with a raw evolving groove with a Detroit flavor. It’s got plenty of grit, and a few innovative twists and turns along the way. 'All the Difference' slows the pace slightly, unwinding a killer groove driven by a piano and punchy drums. About midway through a sublime synth bass joins the fray, and the track lifts off into the ether.

Vincenzo returns to Dessous Recordings with something a little special. 'Merry Go Round' features the stunning vocal talents of Language aka Kaori Kaneko, a haunting, drifting and highly affecting piece of music that sounds like nothing else. Kaori already released two albums on Japanese Crue-L Records as Kaori and three albums with her band Language on Madoromi / Atari Productions and was also featured on the Chi Chi Squads classic 'Treat Me Right'. Built on dreamlike, evolving pads and textures, the vocals are reminiscent of the best work of Tracey Thorn, rising and falling over the 7-minute duration of the original mix. After some minutes a crisp, chugging, mid-tempo beat develops and lifts the track yet further, a moment perhaps best enjoyed at sunrise. The Reprise Mix is a totally beatless mix, emphasising the pads, guitar and piano work. The third track sees Axel Boman on remix duties, who primes it for the dance-floor with a loopy, hypnotic rework that retains the original character but adds a visceral, gritty quality for the dancers.

The young French producer and DJ Oliver Andrade returns to Dessous Recordings with his brand new, fresh for 2014 EP, 'Madness'. Madness kicks off with 'Egregius' – quite a statement for this rising talent in European house circles. The lead track evokes classic deep house from the US Mid-West, whilst never being defined by its influence. Synths bubble to the surface, pads wash over the raw and funky drum track, and a looped vocal ties the whole piece together. 'Madness' treads a similar path, but with a slightly tougher vibe. The atmospheric, late-night mood is enhanced with reversed samples, lush chords and the occasional robotic voice. 'Bac a Sable' shakes things up with an unsettling rhythm that works its way into an infectious driving groove, accentuated by jarring synths. It feels specifically tailored to pushing that early morning crowd to the next level.

Dessous Recordings team up with one of Berlin’s most talented and thoughtful producers for this sublime three tracker. Andre Lodemann has been quietly turning out deep classics for some years now, both on his own Best Works label and influential imprints such as Freerange and Room With a View. Here, Lodemann provides us with some perfect examples of why he’s held in such high regard by DJs, producers and clued up music lovers alike. 'Imagine' starts out with an insistent, nagging groove that’s counterbalanced with an ethereal, soulful vocal. Lodemann then allows the track to grow and evolve through a series of gear changes – a beautiful synth melody, string stabs and fizzing percussion all drift to the forefront and then recede. This is head music for the dance floor – Deep House with true feeling. 'Eyes Wide Open' also contains a wealth of melody, welded expertly to a groove that works the soul as much as the body. Lodemann’s knack for creating epically emotional house music is on full display here – 'Eyes Wide Open' will no doubt be the choice of many a DJ looking for that perfect sunrise record over the summer months. Langenberg has been busy releasing his distinctive brand of knowledgeable deepness for well over half a decade now. As co-founder of the Essen-based label Mild Pitch, the man otherwise known as Max Heesen has been responsible for some sublime moments in house, both on his own label, and for imprints such as Liebe*Detail, Drumpoet Community and Poker Flat. Here, Dessous Recordings get their hands on the sumptuous release ‘The Finisher‘. Informed and influenced by the classic Detroit sound, Langenberg produces yet another exceptional transmission. The title track is as smooth as liquid gold, yet contains a dub-tinged techno edge reminiscent of Langenberg’s Ribn project with Manuel Tur. The soulful piano interplay is pure Detroit meets Essen, and combines to produce one of the year’s standout moments. Next up is ‘Wait State‘, a bouncing groove featuring Langenberg’s trademark crisp drums and percussion, and a fantastic revolutionary vocal sample. ‘Sun and Sorrow‘ is on a more driving tip, but maintains a familiar minor key motor city deepness.

UK stalwarts Jamie Anderson and Owain K team up again for another sumptuous slice of contemporary house music on Steve Bug’s Dessous Recordings. Jamie Anderson has
been exploring and manipulating the links between house and techno for over 15 years, having released on numerous influential labels, both solo and as a collaborator with
other top artists. But it’s his work with Bristolborn hot-property Owain K that is currently exciting discerning dancefloors worldwide. ‘Do You Know‘, their latest collaboration, sees Jamie and Owain drop some serious sunshine grooves - shuffling hi-hats and a classic, Chitown synth let you know that this is all about the good times. The spoken word vocal pays homage to forgotten jazz legends – the uplifting vibe sure to put a smile on the faces of dancers all summer long.
Jamie and Owain switch it up on the other main track in this release. ‘Keep It Pumping‘ drops the tempo to 118bpm and digs its toes into the sand for a balearic-tinged nu-disco stomper.
