Dewalta & Shannon have teamed up and delivered some mind-bending releases in the past on Cynosure, Haunt and Meander. But after listening to the "Runaway Sugarcube EP" you'll agree that the two have most definitely come up with their most twisted combination of techno to date. The shuffled funk of Capitaloid starts things off and takes you straight into the deep depths of the warped afterhour soundtrack. So many details swirl about including subtle vocals mumbling in the background about finance, with morphing wave table digital funk and analogue bass power driving the groove. Jus Wanna follows suite and takes things up a notch with a harsh over compressed groove and a mean ass grinding bass line. Lastly, Under Your Tongue has the down beat acid touch. Waves of liquid morphing bass build up to a monster industrial percussion line. A tip of the hat to the sound of Plastikman and Speedy J on this one.

Mike Shannon throws another volley of no way back and only forward techno. Gravitron is the monster A side named after a cheap amusement park ride that spins it's passengers inside a wheel faster and faster until it's passengers are all floating off the ground. Playing this track at 100 db should also give the listener the same effect. Valosel 4000 is a phase shifted bass monster. With a chest hitting kick this track takes hold of a spacious, wave table bass line that connects the listener with a sound influenced from early 90's UK techno/hardcore but weaves it's reference into a complex maze of compression and dynamics only found in the music of the future.

Mike Shannon has revived Cynosure Recordings after a two-year hibernation, and its revenge has come with a focus on Mike's solo productions and Collaborations. Reset, Bleep puts the label's catalogue back at 000 and begins to count backwards to where its roots began.
The A1 - Bleep Back is a deep bass monster with some definite in your face, morphing wave table trickery. And if Shannon's latest sets are anything to go by, it is a tried tested and true weapon on the dance floor, one that you'll find yourself coming back to in your mind. Following is "Serge Up", a super dry and crunchy minimal house number produced with the famous Serge Modular system, a rare synth used by producers like Richie Hawtin and Jean Michel Jarre. In the hands of Shannon, this machine has produced some of the weirdest and wildest sound to come out of his studio to date. Finally we have "Bleep Forward", an alternate mix of the A1 track. This time Shannon enlists the help of NYC/Berlin badass Evan Baggs. This version leans more towards a futurist sound with an underlying modular bubble and a synth progression that chugs tirelessly forward. Backed with an Aux88 style 808 groove and Ghetto Detroit style bass line, this track is poised to be a regular from Berlin to Brooklyn.
