Jordan Peak fits the Instinkt brand like a glove. This grenade of a release has concrete boots that will be smashing holes in dance floors for months to come. ‘Drums for Days’ is the most powerful release on this label to date with two tracks combing some stunning drum programming and the trippiest vocal hook you’ll hear this year. New-school house with just the right amount of nostalgia done in the classy way only Jordan Peak is capable of.

Jordan Peak makes a stellar return to the Air London imprint this September with the 'Cause For Concern' EP, a three-track collection from the London based producer. The ever on-point Jordan Peak has been continually delivering striking and versatile material over the past four years, releasing records via some leading labels in underground house and techno, such as Tsuba, Robsoul, Bass Culture and One Records. Here we see Jordan return to the Air London label, following his 'It's Time / Hanging By A Thread' EP on the imprint last year. Peak kicks off the 'Cause For Concern' EP with 'Tones & Textures', a rugged groove-led workout fuelled by a bumpy, penetrating rhythm. The synthesized elements then add a warm and charming character to the composition, meandering around the percussive foundation; Peak employs ethereal pads, swirling dub echoes and resonant stabs here to create a mesmerizing and hypnotic vibe. Following is 'Sacred Ground' which picks up the pace slightly with insistent sub tones, naturally swung organic percussion, ever evolving, tension building atmospherics and a trippy spoken-word vocal line uttering the track's title sporadically. Once again resulting in a classy, understated piece of work from this clear-cut talent. The package is then closed with 'Divider', a brilliant construction to finish the package which sees Jordan opt for a more minimalistic approach, stripping back the drums to a sparse yet punchy vibe, while rounded low-end tones drive things along, and bubbling bell sounds, gritty stabs and aggressive bass hits are thrown into the mix intermittently.

We welcome UK’s rising star Jordan Peak on board for his first fully fledged techno release. Jordan has been making waves ever since his entrance on the international circuit in 2011 and with releases on Bass Culture and Robsoul a.o. his future is looking bright. Last year he started his own imprint Rogue Society, a label focused on music on the borders of house and techno. Jordan’s first steps into purist techno territory appear more like giant leaps. All four tracks sound like he is been making techno tunes for years, an extraordinary display of his talent. Black Paint kicks of a funk fuelled groove accompanied by modern day dub stabs and fx programming. Follow up Crocodile Tears brings memories of early Slam/Soma records to mind, updated to 2014. On the flipside you’ll find 2 dark, hypnotic groovers. Relentless in their pace, both with catchy melody lines that’ll stick in your brain for weeks to come. Another fantastic BALANS debut

ordan Peak's fledgling Rogue Society imprint hits it's second release in February with 'Super Flavor'/'Bassuka' from Jorge Savoretti featuring remixes from John Daly and Dan Curtin. Rogue Society kicked off late 2013 with a release from Peak which garnered support from Ryan Elliott, Kirk Degiorgio, Norm Talley, Radio Slave and Neville Watson and the London-based artist has recently continued his run of form with an outstanding release for D'Julz's Bass Culture imprint. For RS002 Peak hands the reins to Argentinian producer Jorge Savoretti, a producer adept at turning in infectious house for the likes of Esperanza and Hometown, who delivers two original cuts. ‘Super Flavor' is vintage Savoretti - employing a simple tight groove and filtered vocal to significant rolling effect while 'Bassuka' is a more manic, technoid cut which rolls atop a rich Juno bassline.
Ireland's John Daly, no stranger to quality imprints himself, drops a rousing stab driven version of 'Super Flavor' which is unadulterated throw down, floor shaking deep house in the true meaning of the word. Dan Curtin, a label-mate of Peak on Bass Culture, delivers the remix of 'Bassuka' and takes it down a stringladen, classic house path like only he can. Showing off his experience and innate understanding of balance in production, Curtin's version is a master class in emotive restraint. Curtin returns for the digital exclusive 'Chord Ambush' remix of 'Bassuka' which revels in loose, tribal rhythms and an acid bassline.
