It’s a French and Dutch invasion coming up next on Supplement Facts as Parisian Julien Chaptal and Amsterdam’s Lauhaus deliver ‘Jujuman’ featuring a remix from French house royalty Franck Roger. ‘Jujuman’ is a midsummer night’s dream of percussive grooves and hints of the wilderness. Franck’s remix adds inflections of psychedelia and a dose of wiggly acid while B-side ‘Watching You’ is pure heads down hypnotic rolling. Julien Chaptal moved to Amsterdam around 2000 to keep pursuing his career in music. First shooting to fame as part of the Dutch outfit Le Clic whilst sound engineering for local bands and DJs, Julien built a solid reputation from local hero to international DJ/producer. Snapped up by Remote Area (breakthrough album ‘Tokens’ came in 2008 on the label) subsequent releases have graced labels such as Intacto, 20:20 Vision, Cityfox, Saved and most recently, Defected. Chaptal is known as one of Holland’s most agile techno artists – solo as well as together with like minded musicians Kabale und Liebe, Quazar, Boris Werner, David Labeij and Lauhaus under the Amsterdam 661 moniker. Also a Remote Area staple artist, Lauhaus has been on the Dutch techno scene for over ten years, starting the live project Polder in 2004 with David Labeji. As well as touring with Polder or Amsterdam 661, Lauhaus is at the helm of Amsterdam parties Mono, Traffic and Mr.Stubnitz. Franck Roger is a pioneer on the French house scene and runs the consistently impressive Real Tone Records. Second studio album ‘Extensions Of Yesterday’ has just been released via Circus Company.
