Martin Landsky needs little introduction – his services to the cause of house and techno have been well documented, particularly through his long and fruitful collaboration with Steve Bug’s Poker Flat label. Always willing to take chances, Landsky continues this legacy with what might be the fiercest assault of the dancefloor of the year – get ready for Ekko Trax. This three track release sees Martin achieve something very special – a raw and honest tribute to the sounds that inspired him – namely the early days of Detroit and Chicago, before genres like house and techno had been defined and pigeon–holed. Each cut here is a creative interpretation of the tough, jacking rhythm trax popularized by originators like Ron Hardy at the Warehouse in the mid 80s – uncut machine funk made with one purpose in mind – delirious and ecstatic dancefloor movement.
Even the titles reflect the stripped down vibe – these trax are purposefully rough-hewn and fully authentic – aggressive and euphoric slices of electronic body music that build their groove and melody out of swaths of deadly delay and echo. Showing it’s still possible to innovate with basic materials, 'ET1' and 'ET2' are equally irresistible – paired down to the essentials and shot through with a charged, raw energy. 'Let It Snow' continues the theme – an acidic monster built on the sounds that shaped a generation. Each of these tracks has a timeless quality, managing to both pay their respects to the origins and keeping things moving forward at the same time. After „1000 Miles“ (pfr73) and „Let Me Dance“ (pfr82) our one and only Martin Landsky is back with another strong release: „Man High“. Honni soit qui mal y pense, „Man High“ doesn‘t intent to glamourise drug abuse. It‘s a tribute to Captain Joe Kittinger and the Man High project, a pre space-age military project that took men in balloons to the upper layers of the earth‘s atmosphere. Not only took the balloon Joe Kittinger to a record high, he also performed a sky dive from 75.000 ft. Imagine how yo feel, falling free from the stratosphere, close to unconciousness, rotating like mad with 22 g ... Martin‘s track „Man High“ captures a bit of that vibe with it‘s live played wildpitch-like oscilating synth modulations.

After his huge hit-single „1000 Miles“(pfr73), his remixes with Steve Bug for Nick Holder‘s „Erotic Illusion“(pfr75) and his superb Bonus-Mix for „Poker Flat Volume 5 - Bets‘n‘Bluffs“ (pfrcd19) Martin Landsky returns with a brandnew 12“ in February before he starts working on a new album project for Poker Flat!„Let Me Dance“ is asking for joint dance action with spoken word shreds, driving synth-lines and a snappy beat. Compared to his recent releases, „Let Me Dance“ is a true and wonderful old-school affair that reveals the deeper and more housey facette of Martin in an impressive way. Sebo K one of the most in demand producers of the moment contributed a fantastic remix. Apart from being a splendid DJ or production work for Anja Schneider, Sebo released an array fo strong singles on Mobilee as well as remixes for King Roc, John Dahlbäck and others. Sebo picks up on the vibe of the original and makes it even more housey and adds a tighter beat.

This is Martin Landsky’s first 12“ release in 2006. It took some time, but it definitly has been worth the wait. "Back (Go For The)" (pfr59) was his last release on Poker Flat in July 2005, so we were really keen to check out some new sounds of our long-standing friend Martin Landsky. He has created a dark and monumental piece of music, using simple but effective sound patterns, repeating them by adding nice delays and other smart fx, step by step slowly building it up in tremendously hypnotic fashion. Striking indeed! On the flip side it’s Dusseldorf’s Loco Dice, resident DJ at Ibiza’s hippest DC10, a true global player, known and loved for his releases on Timo Maas’ label Four Twenty, Josh Wink’s Ovum, Sven Väth’s Cocoon and Richie Hawtin’s Minus. What a list...! But back to the music. His remix of „1000 miles“ is less dark, more funky, smartly playing around with some short soundtips, gliding softly towards a quiet break, before evolving to full power, step by step. The groove is the key! Our tip: This 12“ will definitely be a guiding light for this year’s summer, especially on the magic island of Ibiza!

Yeah. Only a few months ago „FM Safari“ (pfr54) received great feedback from press, DJs and the party community. Now Martin Landsky, who also just finished a mix-cd for Systematic returns with a new 12“ on Poker Flat! „Back (Go For The)“ on the a-side is another great stomper in that typical Landsky manner. Jacking and driving, the track also features the vocals of Filip G whose „Yeah‘s“ have the effect of an additional instrument.„I Can‘t Get Up“ on the b-side is a slightly darker track that smells like old-school techno spirit. After the latest smashers „Reject“ (PFR37) and „Fools“ (PFR45) Martin Landsky is back with another extra-fine Poker Flat production. „FM Safari“ is pure hypnotic minimal house While the forward pushing rhythm construction builds and changes slowly throughout the entire track, a magic melodyfragment forms the epicentre of the song. Constantly repeated by different instruments from a fleet-footed synthie to a dry acid bassline the melody unfolds a magical atmosphere that makes you move. Promising newcomer PATRICK CHARDRONNET is contributing two deep remixes. The „Cheeky Chimp“ mix comes in a comparetively tighter and drier soundsetting and the Silent Snake mix on the Bside is a rather restrained version that builds very slowly and crawls like a snake just to kick into your hollow of the knee when you don‘t expect it. Almost one year after his smasher „Reject“ (pfr37, featuring Filip G.) started his trium-phal procession through 2003, it‘s now Martin Landsky on the run again. His new single „Fools (They Don‘t Know The Time)“ could be your personal guide to the dancefloor. It‘s an exciting and pushing mixture of a warm, but electrifying bassline, straight forward go-ing beats and synthies. On the a-side we have the Main Mix with the vocals by Cassy. The tight drums keep the rhythm ticking over while dub fx and a thick bassline add the drama and suspense. On the flip comes 'Groove Tutorial' - as fair a name as any when the programming is this good. The beat shuffles and chugs along, always staying fresh and interesting, while a minimal layer of other instrumentation adds depth. instrumental tracks together form a wordless musical story, almost like the soundtrack of a movie. It
manages to capture a whole range of emotions in subtle melodic miniatures, dreamy ambiences, dusty beats, deep dub-tracks and driving groove-excursions. An ever-changing kaleidoscope of colours and moods. Although it's an electronic album, it also incorporates live-drums, guitars, bass and other acoustic instruments like celesta, glockenspiel, melodica and even DJ scratching to create a more organic feel. The album received fantastic acclaim from both music fans and journalists around the world and made it into the top-lists of the month, the year, the decade - alongside an array of awards for best production or best album.
Back in 2006, the original pressing only included a selection of songs from the original 13-track album release. It missed out on songs which had been released on singles or didn't "fit" on the so called "vinyl edition". Due to 'public demand' and simply because this album deserves a proper vinyl
release we are happy to finally present, for the first time, the full album on vinyl. It spans of three vinyl discs and is packed in a beautiful gatefold sleeve which also holds a download-code. The recut has been carefully crafted from first generation, orignal masters by Calyx in Berlin. Since the album has been praised for its fantastic sound the primary directive was to cut the lacquers for the re-issue so that they would sound exactly the same as the original release, which has been the CD version of the album. Kings of Tomorrow's place in electronic music history is well assured. One of the alias' for New York legend Sandy Rivera, K.O.T. helped define the early 90's New York house sound with a series of key releases that climaxed in 2001 with the global smash 'Finally' - truly one of the house music classics. Happily, Sandy Rivera is still making killer, soulful house music and this latest release on Poker Flat Recordings continues to showcase his immeasurable talent for groove.
'Kaoz' is a bumping, attitude-full jam rich with thick, punchy drums and a driving synth pulse - topped off with a stunning spoken word vocal from Divine Essence. 'Kaoz Dub' does a lot more than strip the track of its main vocal elements - the groove is rebuilt as an edgy, tension-filled underground house banger - breaking down into a devastating bass section.
Dario D'Attis - the Swiss born DJ and producer who's also known as The Funk Ensemble - delivers a fine remix that perhaps draws on some the 90's influence that K.O.T. defined, producing a bumping, building epic track that seems destined for heavy rotation amongst those in the know.

With his first release on the Poker Flat Wax series, the young Brit drops three new mission statements from the underground, each unified by a slick production sensibility and irresistible feel for groove. Voices is a deep bomb - a shuffling, kinetic rhythm with oceans of space for subtle melodic elements and textures. Spread out over eight and a half minutes, this is one to get lost to.
Point Blank's deep pads and detuned kick drum reference Detroit's classic house sound, the raw drums and vocal snippets adding a truly basement vibe. Area 51 is another atmospheric late night jam, with a bumping rhythm track and subtle pad washes - stripped down and weaponised for the serious dancers.

The Night Riots EP kicks off with 'Partitions', which sees the boys in sparkling form - twisting and teasing a sick groove out of fairly simple sources.
'Darth J' follows a similar path - the devil is in the detail, and Mennie and Sandre get down to some serious beat science, punctuated with some subtle chords and vocal stabs in the process.
'In A Pixel World' reveals the pair's love of classic Chicago vibes distilled though French Touch, bringing in a super funky groove
