Daniel "Blackbelt" Andersen has been active in the Norwegian dance music community for a number of years. He got into electronic dance music in the early 90's, and first started emulating the sound of Detroit techno on his father's home computer. In the last half of the decade he bought his first turntables and a mixer, and was soon DJ'ing around Oslo. His first releases were on Canadian label Restructured Recordings and Prins Thomas' first label Tamburin, under the name Kalle Magnus & Daniel, a collaboration with his childhood friends Kalle Sandås and Magnus "International" Sheehan. Through the last years he's enjoyed success with his releases on Full Pupp, Trailerpark and Claremont 56 and recently remixes for fellow Norwegians Fjordfunk and the lowlands disco kings the Glimmers. His productions has been licensed to a number of compilations like MOS Balearica(yes, a shit name...we know...) The Glimmers Fabric Live 31.

His ideas might lay around for 5-10 years before that crucial missing "middle part" pops out of nowhere(or in this instance:2 old ideas gets combined into a new one) but essentially they all come out with the same colour, taste and smell... and they all sound like nothing but Blackbelt Andersen. Over a 3 month period in 2011 I invited Daniel into the mess that I call K16 Studios for a hectic but creative reworking of the material that he had piled up. The idea was to use Daniel's tracks as templates and use whatever kind of tool we had at our disposal to colour in the white fields. Kalimbas, cheap old throwaway synths, guitar amps and effect boxes... Some tracks needed little more than a sprinkle of eq'ing or some re-arranging and others where reworked from the bottom up.
I know we might be blowing our cool by blowing our own horns, but it´s hard not to get excited listening to this brilliant masterpiece. Toot toot toot!!!!

after his much applauded tribute to Manuel Göttsching, norwegian martial arts grand wizzard BLACKBELT ANDERSON returns with another deadly sample of his secret technique: the main cut "alfaz de pi" molds the ancient styles of cowbell driven space disco and ruff acid into a powerfull weapon for dancefloor action. "sandoz" overwhelms in a more gentle way with its sweeping balearic chords and the melancholic melodie while the PRINS THOMAS edited "snake eyes" hands out some hard capoeira style slaps. surely one of the most crushing releases on Full Pupp so far.

perfectly primed for that elusive number 75 release.
This time teaming up with Rex Ronny, we're stoked to have him back and even more
stoked about the music engraved in these grooves.
DJ Sotofett and Rex Ronny embodies a solid 7 track EP for Full Pupp with a strong Sci-Fi pallet of Cosmic-Italo racers. "Epidermis" is not another conjectural Nu-Disco record but a strong Disco-Dub infused travel in rhythm and melody. The entirety of the EP is bound together by four Galactic synth tracks and three driving Disco cuts, all with an individual approach. It's a solid nod to the excellence producers of Italian Disco and UK left-of-center dance music has taught us since the late 70's. Rex Ronny (aka Ronny Nyheim from PsyPal fame) was challenged by DJ Sotofett to play all synth parts live in the studio, for Sotofett to mix the material in his new studio set up for ultimate Cosmic, Dance & Dub sonics. To perfect the rhythm suction, congas by Stiletti-Ana (from Jesse) was added in the mix, and LNS contributed with a harmony-bridge for maximum pathos.

Jaeger Club´s resident Ivaylo returns here to Prins Thomas' always on-point Full Pupp label for a release defined by its imaginative take on contemporary house and techno. Featuring three peak-time dance floor tracks, Syklon is a release that speaks to discerning dance floor connoisseurs in emphatic fashion.

Anyone who’s followed Ivaylo’s musical career to date will know that this is a man who values quality and eclecticism above all else. Raised in Bulgaria but now firmly based in Oslo, the Jaeger resident has really been finding his feet of late, playing alongside some of the scene’s best-known names and consistently putting out expert sounds courtesy of his Bogota label. 2019, however is the year that the producer’s sounds are sure to reach a new audience still. Indeed, his first solo release of the year comes at us here courtesy of fellow Oslo dweller Prins Thomas’s always on-point Full Pupp imprint. Featuring three classy tracks that explore the producer’s many influences, this one is every bit as exciting as we’d anticipated.
It’s the dubby, weighty sounds of ‘Syklon’ that get the release underway. Notable for its classy drums and unlikely turn of pace around the halfway point, it’s an innovative track that speaks volumes of Ivaylo’s knack for taking chances—and being greatly rewarded for doing so. Kicking off on a fairly innocuous tip, it morphs into a full-bodied techno workout thanks to some expert synths and an old-school vocal.
‘Aerodynamisk’ is another impressive battle weapon, with this one drenched in positive, sun-glistened sounds and emotive overtones. Banging but also deep in parts, it walks the tightrope between two very different strands with an impressive distinction. Like ‘Syklon’ before it, it refuses to stand still and opt for a straightforward approach, with this one also taking the listener on a wild ride over the course of its 6-or-so minutes. Culminating the release is ‘Karla’, a baseline-led jam that really comes to life with the piano keys come into play. A catchy jam that’s hard not to fall for, this one is full of enticing, mysterious vibes from the off. An imaginative listen from start to finish, Ivaylo’s latest truly is a release worth treasuring.
