Illum Sphere’s 2016 album “Glass” was a focussed statement from the DJ and producer - a poised reflection on detachment and an assertion of his many talents. Now Glass has been reworked across two fresh 12” releases via Ninja Tune. For the second 12”, album cut ‘Red Glass’ is partnered with Hieroglyphic Being’s remix of the same track - following the release of his much sought after and critically acclaimed album for Technicolour Records, he provides a tranced out dispersion of the original. It shares it’s slab of wax with Beau Wanzer’s remake of ‘Fuel The Fire’ - the original becoming a stuttering, looping rhythm of brooding intensity. Limited to 500 copies and includes ‘Wounded’ Fotomachine Remix (digital download).

Also on the flip, Gavsborg (Equiknoxx) remixes ‘The Journey’ - urgent and reflective in equal measure, it is an impactful and intricate exploration of the original. Limited to 500 copies and includes ‘Wounded’ Fotomachine Remix (digital download).

With Coexist, The xx defied any perceived "difficult second album" pressures to create a record that cemented their status as a truly global breakout act. "I See You", das dritte Album von The xx, wurde im Zeitraum von März 2014 bis August 2016 aufgenommen. Alle Songs des Albums wurden geschrieben von Jamie Smith, Oliver Sim und Romy Madley Croft. Alle Lyrics des Albums wurden von Oliver Sim und Romy Madley Croft geschrieben. Das Album wurde von Jamie Smith und Rodaidh MacDonald (der auch am Debütalbum von The xx mitgearbeitet hat) produziert. Das Album entstand dabei in einer Zeit, in der sich The xx sowohl als Band, als auch als Individuen außerhalb ihrer Wohlfühlzone bewegten. Während der letzten Jahre war Romy zeitweise nach Los Angeles gezogen, um vor Ort mit einigen der weltbesten Songwritern zu arbeiten. Oliver war Gesicht einer globalen Kampagne von Dior. Jamie wiederum veröffentlichte sein Debüt-Solo-Album, das Grammy-nominierte "In Colour". Und nebenbei arbeitete Jamie noch als Produzent mit Künstlern wie Frank Ocean, Alicia Keys und Drake zusammen. Incorporating influences from noise, hardcore, hip-hop, and electronic. NOLIFE has created an assaulting take on contemporary experimental electronic music. With his sole physical release being an extremely limited self-released cassette earlier this year, the forthcoming YOU WON’T SURVIVE THE STATE OF NEW YORK EP is the most fully realized NOLIFE project to date. Created in a state of isolation and poor health the five seamless tracks of heavy beats laced with dissonant noise samples create a dark picture of the NOLIFE existence.
