Now Glass has been reworked across two fresh 12” releases via Ninja Tune. On the first, original “Glass” album track ‘Fall Into Water’ sees itself packaged up with Machine Woman’s remix of ‘Paradise’, a mighty, mechanical study of the original, the track’s original framework pounded from up high and expertly reassembled. Also on the flip, Gavsborg (Equiknoxx) remixes ‘The Journey’ - urgent and reflective in equal measure, it is an impactful and intricate exploration of the original. For the second 12”, album cut ‘Red Glass’ is partnered with Hieroglyphic Being’s remix of the same track - following the release of his much sought after and critically acclaimed album for Technicolour Records, he provides a tranced out dispersion of the original. It shares it’s slab of wax with Beau Wanzer’s remake of ‘Fuel The Fire’ - the original becoming a stuttering, looping rhythm of brooding intensity. The third part of our Producer#3 series. Following his recent release on the Manchester based Mind On Fire label, Danny Drive Thru provides two tracks for Producer#3. Eclipsemoonsun is a deeply burnt piece of atmospheric cimematica, smouldering & minimal. Crumbling drums merge with ethereal voices & weightless keys, its 3 minutes of disintegrating funk. Marcus Intalex under his new Trevino alias remixes. In line with his recent tracks for Martyn’s 3024 label & Scuba’s DJ Kicks mix he pushes the tempo to create a technoid stepper. Its a dusky production in the 130 bpm realm with a warm electro flourish and darker acidic undercurrent. After including his smash-up of the “death star theme” on Producer#2 and dropping his debut vinyl with the Cakeology E.P in 2010, the green llama aka Mr Dibiase returns once again to Fat City. Its classic Dibiase, all raw, chopped & loose around the lines, ripping apart some spaced soul parts in trademark wacked-out -cosmic fashion. Danny Drive Thru finishes off with his cover of MOP’s “Ante Up”. Included on the Producer#2 cd, the repsonse was so good we had to do vinyl. Virtual voices mix with lo-fi keys and beats. Tongue-in-cheek, clever, funny & addictive. More

Very limited, hand stamped vinyl release of Julio Bashmore & Swing Ting remixes of Mosca’s “Tilt Shift”. Julio Bashmore ups the tempo, warming the track whilst adding extra subs. With clever twists & frills he brings the track into new areas in a typically understated fashion. Swing Ting are DJs Samrai & Platt, so called after their club of the same name which is one of Manchetser’s most forward thinking underground monthly gatherings. They provide an instantly effective blend of grime, garage & bassline with both their vocal & dub versions. Their remixes display their deep understanding of these styles. With the vocal version they cooly chop the rhythms into a ruff dance floor workout while the dub takes things deeper & dreadier, finding natural space in the groove & rocking a pure sound system rinse out.
