This is the remix edition of Dino Sabatini's recent second album "Omonimo" (April 2016, Outis Music).Like the recent album, this EP "Concentrica" features renowned Italian veteran pianist/accordionist Antonello Salis on the tracks "If" and "It All Ends Here", albeit here in different versions. Out of these two tracks the former is on "Concentrica" reworked by Dino Sabatini and the latter in a collaborative live variation between Salis and Dino Sabatini.
Simultaneously with the announcement of "Concentrica" was it announced that Dino and Antonello are launching their new live project: Dino Sabatini & Antonello Salis present 'Electronic Opera Concentrica'.
Howie B is veteran producer mainly known as a purveyor of early trip hop, having produced cuts from Tricky's debut album, Björk's "Post" and "Homogenic" as well as other major like U2.

After inaugurating the 'Opera' sub-series of his Outis Music label with the sublime 'Omonimo' double LP this April, Dino Sabatini has invited some choice allies to help define the vocabulary and expand the vision of the new imprint. The aforementioned album, which wove together Sabatini's atmospheric conjuring skill with the piano flourishes of Antonello Salis, already exhibits the label's commitment to dismantling the 'either-or' logic of contemporary genres by successfully merging a variety of supposedly irreconcilable styles, talents, and worldviews (e.g. both mythological and the technological perspectives). The follow-up EP, 'Concentrica', draws on the material from 'Omonimo' and delivers it into the hands of additional remixers in order to continue the Outis Opera voyage.

The leadoff contribution, a variation on 'Sometimes Back' from Howie B, unwinds slowly and undulates gracefully, luring the listener into a dense thicket of sound foliage before a surprise entrance from sonic beasts made of thick distortion and delay effects. The deceptively light percussion touches and keystrokes give this cyborg dub a deceptive tranquillity that contrasts delightfully with the growls and feverish swells of the 'lead' synths. This fades into a re-imagining of 'If' by Sabatini, augmenting the original's ambience with all kinds of new elements from rolling toms to translucent curtains of harmonic string-like sounds. More of a continuation of the original than a reprise, it strikes that perfect balance between passivity and activity - the listener can 'relax' but still have the freedom to actively, deeply explore inner space.
Next up is a focused mix of 'The Unexpected' from ASC, known for his many contributions to the Silent Season label and for a kinship with uncategorizable artists like Kangding Ray and L.B. Dub Corp. Though subtitled as his 'Grey Area' mix, this track is rich with tone colour and a feeling of curiosity that, thanks to the producer's flair for layering sound washes and filtering percussive elements, never elevates into full-on anxiety and leaves one wanting to know what lies behind the door from which these hazy sounds are escaping.

The final track, as it was on 'Omonimo', is once again 'And it All Ends Here', although this time Salis and Sabatini reach the ending in a drastically different way than before: a dramatic fade-in of music box and environmental ambience gives way to even more dramatic string arrangements, quick piano stabs and time-reversed ephemera. As such, the record ends in mystery, with a question mark or a 'to be continued...' rather than a resolute conclusion, but this is part of the record's appeal: imagining what lies beyond the grooves is just as rewarding as the listening experience.

Dino Sabatini is not just a Prologue artist having the first 12" release in our catalogue, he is also one of the most authentic Prologue artists who is responsible for providing the well known Prologue sound aesthetic. Cassegrain continue their empowering run of techno electronics with 'Centres of Distraction', their debut album on Prologue.
Leading us on a 10-track expedition into a wilderness of rugged, challenging sonics, the album marks the production duo's development from adventurous new-bloods to fully fledged Techno explorers.
Over the course of the last five years, Alex Tsiridis and Hüseyin Evirgen, now both firmly entrenched in Berlin, have created a heavily detailed rhythmic language of morphing synthesis, high end processing and club-chiseled production. A basis for much of their studio work, their controlled, hardware-focused live sets have brought them to a unique and respected position as showmen.
A nod to the classic 90s electronic album format - spanning a wide range of tempos and genres - 'Centres of Distraction' covers a lot of ground. After the opening club-ready syncopations of 'A Study Of Splashes', itself a warm and addictive cut, the duo set out on a new exploration in purist electronica, beginning with 'Resilin'. Morphing from abstract and reduced broken beats into a stirring melodic piece, it's the most song-structured we've heard them.
And so change and contrast are to continue as key themes. 'Centres' drops with its funky, off-centre lines and rattling percussion, to be quickly followed by the mighty 'Intrude - Restrain'. 'New Hexagon' charms us into a deep hypnosis with its percussive and rhythmic synthesis, highlighting the intricacies of the duo's drum programing.
The serene mid-tempo tones of 'Glasshouse' create yet another dramatic change in focus as a temporal, high-pressure and high-intensity atmosphere is built and then gently deconstructed. But Cassegrain also stands for high-end dance music, and 'Scythian' is perhaps the peak of the album in that respect. An unrelenting and timeless shock of electricity, the stuttering, frenetic energy winds its way around the heart of Cassegrain's current club sound.
Again dropping the tempo in search of refreshing alternatives, renowned Greek cellist Nikos Veliotis (of the Mohammad group on PAN, or In Trance 95 on Minimal Wave) contributes his growling, measured strokes to 'Empress Cut In Segments'. An intense soundtrack of sublime cacophonic peaks, once again tappng into a newly developed taste for melody and progressive structures.
The album approaches its end with 'Arcane', the type of psycho-techno that Cassegrain do so well - metallic lines overlapping and modulating to full effect - the tension palpable. This is the prelude to the beautiful 'Seldom Cloud' that sums up all of the more experimental, melodic studies found on the LP. Floating bells and ethereal bodies swarm in a fitting conclusion to the album.

Edit-Select is the project of Scottish DJ Tony Scott and one of the pioneers of deep driven hypnotic Techno. Already confirmed with tracks like Bauer on Ostgut Ton or his own label "Edit Select" Tony belongs to the best and most respected techno producers in the world. Nearly all of his techno tracks have been played and charted by all Techno DJ ?s. But that's was not the reason to sign the album "Phlox". No, we really think the moniker Edit Select with all his passion for deep driven techno track is more than a perfect fit into our label philosophy. Tony ?s ability to design real hypnotic was already recognized from us for years now. So much the more we are extremely proud to present "Phlox" a extremely doped mixture between emotional ambient tracks and very effective sci-fi tricks tracks moving to hypnotic monsters for the dance floor. Dino Sabatini is not just a Prologue artist having the first 12" release in our catalogue, he is also one of the most authentic Prologue artists who is responsible for providing the well known Prologue sound aesthetic. Dino´s productions always deliver exactly our vision of music; deep, hypnotic, atmospheric and mind-driven. It's no surprise that we are more than proud to announce the third Prologue album this year, which comes from our high respected mate from Berlin. The album is called "Shaman's Paths" and it is more than just an album for all of us. Dino´s Shaman's Paths is his personal interpretation of the sounds of Africa, which provides since decades the basis of trance in order to loose your mind in sounds and drum arrangements and it is his personal interpretation of the Prologue sound aesthetic. The Album is planned for October 2012 and will be distributed over "WordandSound". One part will be a CD mixed with all tracks, which simply is the Shaman's Paths to follow. Further we will also have one 12" Vinyl which will contain the most club oriented hypnotic tracks from the Album and a complete digital album with all separate tracks.
