Kastil, aka of the spanish Mario Castillo, is well known and especially for his role as a producer of furious and intricate techno works with a high industrial influence. But at 30D we like that our close people (and Kastil is very close, since he is responsible for the mastering of all our label's releases) have absolute freedom to release what they consider appropriate, here is a clear example: Mario leaves aside his usual four-to-the-floor vision to immerse himself -completely on purpose- into classic IDM and into the most beautiful, musical and even epic electronica. Only one of the four tracks that conform the EP ('Polymorphic') clearly looks to the dance floor although it shares, along with the three remaining tracks, the artist's passion for the timeless sound of the 90's. QuadroQuill EP will be released on 30D Records' sub-label ExoPlanets, in both, vinyl (strictly limited edition) and digital format.

Label-owner Kastil continues the Soul Notes imprint with a release that represents the self-reivention process that he is currently experiencing. Emphasizing on advanced synthesis and a more atmospheric approach to his sound, the Basque country native takes one on an intergalactic journey through his current mindset. The title track 'Binary Star' is a spacious journey where Kastil subtly blends ferm drums with a mystic pad and unusual drum changes. The effort slowly builds into a otherworldly peak with an original synthline. For the A2 effort called 'Forest Curtains' Kastil heads into more repetitive territory where the focus lies heavily on drums and FX, some squeeky synth bits set the tone. On the B side we find a very interesting Binary Star rework from EOMAC (of Lakker fame) who sets a somewhat dark tone which is reminiscent of Garage from a futuristic techno point of view. Not a track to pin down to one genre but definitely an effort that will turn a lot of heads.

SNW01 contains some previously unreleased cuts from Labelowner ''Kastil''. Where he never thought of releasing this before. He rapidly changed his mind after seeing the reactions to these ''cuts'' at his gigs but also on his Soundcloud page and facebook. After several people requesting a release of the A side ''Rush'' he decided to press them up to serve his loyal followers. These are two rough, peaktime house jams which have a mesmerizing effect to them. The vocal in ''Gather Up!'' is the perfect example. These are two underground slammers, produced with class and in high demand.

Kastil takes the A-side with the title track "Paraside," a classic deep house Chicago jam that exudes style, while "17th Street" has the same deep US flavour but with more drive and purpose. On the flip, Mr. Cinelli creates a trippy and subtle reinterpretation of "17th Street" but still retains the bouncy flavor in a way he only knows how to do it. Watch out for those snares.

Belfast's Seven Music returns with yet another 12" that sees the return of montel, a Belfast house head whose rise has been nothing short of meteoric. First surfacing in January of this year, montel has graced many of the underground House scene's best imprints with his straight up, no nonsense approach to House & Garage! Brooklyn's Let's Play House and Love Revolution, Paris's Skylax label and also UK based label, Midnight Love Club have all had the pleasure of this man joining their ranks in 2013! Kicking the release off in style is the intense cut "While The Record Spins" which is a full blown dance floor filler that captures the old skool sound with montel's own edge, with "Love Jones" maintaining the feel good vibes. Soaring synths, atmospheric breakdowns, and great use once again of smooth vocal samples. On the flip, "Hip Hop Anonymous" takes it back to the 90s, pairing an acidic bass line with a heavy rap vocal before the track erupts into pulsating ecstasy, whilst curtain closer 'Hold On' demonstrates montel's diversity, opting for a deeper feel that exudes a subtle Bass approach.

2012.. A new year and a new era for Seven Music! 7M012 sees the debut of the mysterious Robotalco. We were so impressed by his recent releases on Home Taping Is Killing Music and On The Prowl we had to get in contact with him. What a release he is provided for us. This is real Deep House music!
