Whether or not they are actual twins, Shiho and Yuhiro do create magic on their Basic Fingers debut.

The Patchouli Brothers first began throwing parties in an Albanian dive bar in Toronto's east end, but have gone on to grace the stage at a spectrum of the city's establishments. They hold down a residency at a rotating disco jam called Beam Me Up which, while held monthly at the Piston, has taken place in a film studio, an artist commune, above a furniture store and inside the Great Hall. Their debut 12" for Basic Fingers features two cuts. First up 'Wicked One', a fiery slice of gospel served with a rich piano hook. Basic Fingers is back and welcomes Philou Louzolo to the label, who delivers two blistering edits and one original track for the label's twenty ninth release. First up is 'Lumumba's Revenge', an original cut, produced and arranged by Philou Louzolo himself, creating an intoxicating mood to start off the release. Next up is 'Tartit's Tribe', an edit of an original desert song from the Tombouctou region of Mali. As if that wasn't enough to set the juices flowing, Philou ends the release on the flip with 'Fadimata's Dibabba', a track built around exotic melodies, chanted vocals and chunky percussion. More

Alma Negra is a Swiss collective that consists of four musically driven friends, the Figuiera Brothers Dersu & Diego whose roots are established firmly in their Cape Verdian heritage, Dario with his half and half Portuguese/Italian mix and finally Mario with Spanish roots. Alma Negra is not only a mountain in the Cordillera de la Ramada range of the Andes Mountains, it's also a collective who are based in Basel, Switzerland. The collective is made up of Miajica, Dario Rohrbach & Dersu Figueria. They are passionate diggers who loves playing music from all over the world & had their debut last year on the infamous Sofrito label with heavy edits from the islands of Cabo Verde.
