Yoshihiro Hanno aka Radiq is a highly acclaimed musician and composer from Japan, now living and working between Tokyo and Paris. He did releases on imprints like Sub Rosa, Logistic and Progressive Form. Hanno worked with the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra as well as Arto Lindsey or Ryuichi Sakamoto. Besides he got international fame as a composer for different film scores including work with Asian movie master Hou Hsiao-Hsien and film director Jia Zhang-ke. Radiq is since some time well aligned with the Philpot Camp. When he and SoulPhiction met again last year during the Philpot Tour in Japan, co-operation was affirmed and tracks were committed. Two of those funky nuggets are released here, one coming with a brilliant SoulPhiction remix treatment. "Thanks for purchasing a real copy!"

The mighty one-man-band with the most notoriously misspelled airport pick-up signs in music history returns to his beloved hometown imprint Musique Risquée with a scorching three-track can of shake-ass. Guillaume & The Coutu Dumonts is never one to shy away from fresh contrasts in his works, and we have no exceptions here - all manner of dark-to-light, flacid-to-hard, and identifiable-to-WTF? moments, sounds, and vibes abound.
Lead-off piece "Histories Vraies" brilliantly soundtracks the inevitable future moment when a season-premiere costumed viewing party for Game Of Thrones unknowingly gets their punch spiked with moon rocks and teleported right to the middle of Panoramabar at peak time. A2 jam "Far Is The Field" counterattacks with the next level fusion of Sun Ra Arkestra-esque transmissions wrapped around a Humpty Dance-on-steroids Bassline, twisting and shifting away from the hands on the clock with beautiful ease - "I am Music.." indeed. Finally, B-side long-burner "Whatever's Inside" rocks a sultry belly dancer's theme song at an FM and modular synth Bazaar on Uranus, with G & the CD's patented sharp percussion fills ensuring that the resulting melted faces and hearts will still be set in motion by the all-important collective flexing of the Gluteus maximus.

Fellow Yay Area freak and veteran fan of all things slightly askew for the dance floor, Dave Aju, managed to get DJ Milanesa onboard in the studio for this nasty ass jam of the highest/lowest order. "Chili Dog" surely finds its inspiration in the classic Dance Mania cannon of raw shit-talking party-rocking house trax, but Aju's unique knob twists and turns here and there on co-production steers it clear into 2015 - the first wildly oversexed dance move anthem of the year is here, and hopefully only the first of many: "if you're hungry double up, everybody's ready!"

For is 3rd release on Musique Risquée, after the well acclaimed Dirty Lipreading single and is first full lenght Foe Destroyer, Stephen Beaupré is back with a really solid record. That's all there is to say. Gl'amour as the distinctive signature of Stephen Beaupré, his subtle use of vocals, strings colored with warm echos layered on a big and chunky drum beat. You can easilly acknowledge is natural sens of storytelling unfold in a brillant way. On the flipside, When you have it, would be an excellent way to summarise Stephen electrifying live sets: funky, melodic hypnotic and sexy. Pigeons aren't necessarily the first birds that come to mind when we think of funk, but that doesn't mean these rats of the street don't know a stone-cold groove when they hear one. San Francisco natives Sutekh (aka Seth Horvitz)and Kit Clayton (aka Joshua Kit Clayton) aren't the first producers that come to mind when we think of funk either, but as Pigeon Funk the veteran West Coast glitch kingpins have delivered an angular and crazed version of 23rd-century funk from an ultra-robotic future. For those who are already familiar with the work of the two men involved, this second Pigeon Funk album should come as no surprise: the duo specialize in top-drawer, maximalist playfulness, angular funk with blocks of squirms, whistles, horns, Latino squabbles, and faux-lounge robotics tripping over each other in a sonic playground that reveals new dimensions with every listen. The Largest Bird in the History of the World… Ever! is a braindancer's delight, well within the label's tradition of surrealist mindbending for the dancefloor. But Pigeon Funk is all pedigree. Kit Clayton, who owns the Orthlorng Musork label, has four albums to his name, including the 1999 cult-classic Nek Sanalet on ~scape. He has recorded for Background, Mille Plateaux, Plug Research, and Carpark among others over his decade-long career in computer music. Sutekh, who has spent the last few years recording for the always-quality Soul Jazz and Leaf labels, is the producer behind full-length demented techno monsters like 2000's Periods.Make.Sense and 2002's Incest Live, two gems that appeared on Force Inc. at the height of the Frankfurt's label's heyday. And they aren't kidding when they claim this
album to be The Largest Bird in the World… Ever! Funk has yet to meet the talons of a pigeon this big, and the outcome is bound to be messy, loud, and unprecedented! More

After a being released a couple of years ago on an american indie rock label, it was time to bring this track back out again and release the funk one more time on the dancefloor with Akufen's remix of Supa Doopa from Les Georges Leningrad, a cult rock band from Montreal recently disbanded. For the first on Akufen's own label Musique Risquée, this almost unknown remix he's made in the last years is available again on 12” with a completely new and much improved mastering and a nice full side cut. This track brings us back to the funky swinging side of Akufen's music, with his usual crazy voice cut-ups, groovy piano stabs and solid driving drum programming, recalling Herbert'scraziest moments.
