Swedish producer Tiger Stripes, the alias of Mikael Nordgren, brings his techno touch to Hot Creations for his debut EP on the label this summer. Jack My Yum is a heavyweight three-parter that sees the Swede invite Hot Creations stable mate, Matt Tolfrey, to provide a stellar remix. Opening track Jack My Yum is a warped and heavy roller with a smattering of dark vocals. Haunted brings with it a bass that you can feel reverberating off the concrete walls of a darkened club, interspersed with an eerie melody. Following his recent release Americas on the label, Leftroom Records boss Matt Tolfrey brings his groove and a bouncier bassline to proceedings with his version of the title track. Dunjacka completes the EP, with Nordgren sewing together a techno beat with broken vocal stabs, underpinned by a throbbing groove throughout. Tiger Stripes has collaborated with legendary names such as Kerri Chandler, Adeva, Leroy Burgess, Riva Starr and Jerome Sydenham, with his brand of deep and futuristic techno seeing releases on some of the underground’s biggest imprints including Desolat, Drumcode and Cajual.

January 2014 sees Swedish artist make his long-awaited debut on Desolat on the 'Sisters EP'. Title-track 'Sisters' kicks things off off a bumping bass line and strong percussion and the track moves along until a distinctive vocal, which is sure to be one of the most memorable hooks of the year, enters the fold. 'Sisters' reminds us that there is always summer somewhere, a true anthem.
Following on is 'Keep A Movin' which is a hypnotic rolling house track full of energy but with a darker vibe and an equally engrossing vocal - sure to be deadly on the dancefloor. On remix duties, tINI instantly marks her personal stamp on the original by taking out much of the vocal, slowing the BPM and infusing a woosy meandering bassline with the original melody. The end result is both brilliantly trippy and totally engrossing. Overall then, the 'Sisters EP' showcases Tiger Stripes considerable talent through three tunes of the highest calibre.

Following the warm reception of the first two volumes in the "Leads & Bites" series, Ibadan Records is returning with a third volume to be released on vinyl in December, 2019.
The Leads & Bites series was launched in 2010 to address the growing appetite for a musically versatile, pumping house release among house music connoisseurs. Over the years, the action-packed series has seen the likes of Tyree Cooper, Earth People, Kerri Chandler, David Sumner and Christian Prommer contribute to the series. The previous volume, Leads & Bites Vol. 2 quickly became one of the label's most sought-after contemporary releases. The new edition welcomes Ibadan's longtime artist Argy and Ibadan's new generation torchbearer, Janne Tavi to the growing series.

Ibadan announces the release of a new remix by Dennis Quin of Kerri Chandler & Jerome Sydenham ft. Troy Denari - You're In My System on vinyl in December, 2019.
Quin, a self-professed house addict and die-hard Kerri Chandler fan since the early nineties, had been searching for a new vocalist to work with. He turned to Simon Birkumshaw, label manager and A&R of Chandler's Madhouse Records, who recommended Troy Denari, the original vocalist of the classic Ibadan track "You're In My System". When Denari revealed that had just resung the vocals, Quin was inspired to remix the track.
Quin's aim with this remix was to update the track for his sets and give it contemporary production values in line with his current digital sets. "It's always tricky to put your hands on a huge record like this," he says. "It's a legendary track that everyone knows, so I was extremely careful in terms of mixing, timing, and all the rest." The result is a modern version of the classic that is very true to the original. At the same time, Quin makes his mark by bringing his own drum and percussion into the mix.
The remix versions cover all the bases for various digital distribution formats, including atmospheric dub, club and instrumental mixes, plus a special three-minute edit for Spotify.
Working together for the first time, the members of the musical team were excited to exchange their ideas. "Troy, Kerri, Jerome and I have gained so much out this intense collaboration. It has developed into a deep friendship that is all about house music, good vibes and pride in our achievements. Each of us is fulfilled by our individual roles in this project. I'm really proud to be part of this family."
Christine Pedersen, managing director of Ibadan Records, is excited about Quin's first release on the label. "It's always a pleasure to welcome new and talented collaborators into the fold. And I love the new vocal. Troy's singing brings a fresh spin to the track."

A simple dinner in Berlin transforms into a studio session, which in turn evolves into a track, which sets the spark for what has now materialized as one of the most highly anticipated albums of late.
