What in the? Who in the? Bileebob, aka John Williams, is by far the most multi-talented artist on UR. Why? Because he sings, he DJs, he makes his own instruments and his own tracks, and none of us quite
understands any of it – all we know is it’s funky! We cannot begin to explain the immensity of how distributors, and other people who determine what you listen to, completely overlooked this artist as they did Drexciya when they first came out. We are especially proud to carry this man’s music as it will be discovered in the future to be some of the baddest Detroit Techno ever made. Unfortunately released during the height of Berlin minimal influence when no DJ dared to play anything with a complex beat and during the construction of the Submerge building when Mike didn’t have any money left, this UR gem stands out from all other UR tracks and is a huge seller all year in our record store when people ask, “When did this come out and what the hell is this?” Electronic music has no parameters or at least it shouldn’t. With a focus on thematic flow and an immersive listening experience, the London-based label explores works from leading lights of the 1990s and previously unreleased cuts that celebrate the human heart that can be discovered in synthetic sound practices. The development of techno in the 1990s saw the music evolve in different directions across the world. From the expressive blueprint laid out by the Detroit pioneers, a wide range of tempos and energies emerged. Techno's evocative synthesis and intricate drum machine programming was especially potent for deeper explorations away from the dancefloor. Documents Of A Different Reality casts back to when technology was steering quantum leaps in communication and creativity and the future was shot through with naive optimism. It was also a time when the media and industry hadn't caught up with the music to box it into distinct categories. As such, there's a sense of creative freedom that informs the older tracks on the album, from 2000 And One and Sandy Huner's sparkling example of early Dutch techno to London-based LA Synthesis' detailed take on braindance and the majestic night sky vision of cult legend Stasis. There's also space for rare, late 90s machine funk from Icelandic outlier Thor alongside Connective Zone's charmingly fractured bleep dream and a more contemporary offering from Barcelona-based duo Permutation. Meanwhile Mind Control and CiM both capture the spirit of stylistic fusion with twitchier rhythms that take influence from hardcore and jungle as much as techno. With an atmospheric through-line of melancholic pads and harmonious leads, this small but perfectly formed collection naturally follows on from previous, equally thought-out compilations on Cold Blow, and adds a distinct perspective on the history and continuing legacy of pioneering early ambient techno.

Plumbing hidden depths beneath a deceptively tranquil surface, MLO's mid-90s masterpiece Io is an overlooked gem from a golden era for ambient electronic music. Originally released in 1994, Jon Tye and Pete Smith's collaborative album responded to the growing chill-out movement by leaning into classical and avant-garde influences from Satie, Debussy and Cage through to Soft Machine, Incredible String Band and Eno. Recorded across various studios stacked with classic and rare synths, Io was patiently composed into slowly unfolding suites punctuated with ripples of arrhythmic interference to arrive at a purist vision of true ambient.
The next instalment in Forever Records' ongoing reissue series shines a light back on this landmark piece of UK electronica with the first official reissue since its original edition on Rising High. As well as the original double LP pressing and a new CD digipak version, there will also be a uniquely numbered, limited edition housed in a gatefold sleeve that comes with a bonus 10" featuring two previously unreleased versions of the album's opening cut, 'Wimborne'.

Tbilisi Records proudly presents the first volume in the series: Giya Kancheli - Music for Stage and Screen.
Giya Kancheli (1935-2019) was one of the most acclaimed and beloved Georgian composers of the 20th century. He created celebrated symphonic and chamber works, but also brought depth and beauty to theater and cinema through his original scores. Working in tandem with directors, screenwriters, playwrights, and conductors, Kancheli helped to define multiple eras of Georgia's diverse, multidisciplinary artistic identity.
In collaboration with the composer's family, Tbilisi Records has compiled a series of recordings of Kancheli's music composed for film and theater. This first double LP presents some of his earliest creations: music for two theater productions, Khanuma (1968) and The Straw Hat (1966), and one of the composer's earliest soundtracks, music for the film Extraordinary Exhibition (1968).
This album includes archival recordings, unreleased tracks, and alternate takes from sessions made available here for the very first time. These collected examples from the composer's early career illustrate his already established style, while serving as a foundation from which to compare his later works and artistic evolution. "Giya Kancheli - Music for Stage and Screen" also highlights Kancheli's incredible propensity for collaboration, emphasizing his role as a critical figure in the constellation of artists that defined Georgia's creative milieu.
The label extends its deepest gratitude to the family of Giya Kancheli, whose trust and kindness made this release possible. Our heartfelt thanks also go to everyone who once lent their sound or vision to these recordings - musicians and photographers whose names may be lost to time, yet whose spirits live on in the music and images that endure.

From the vaults of mastermind Günther Fischer came this unreleased outstanding Rare Groove material with breathtaking international high class Jazz from 1974. It bears no comparison with absolute international most wanted sounds from Marc Moulin's Placebo,
Masaru Imada´s Green Caterpillar, the german ensemble Catch up, UK´s Nucleus or the US jazz milesstones from Catalyst. It is unbelievable that an East German band played and recorded such fresh modern electrified Jazz at this time.
In a perfect modern jazz line-up, Günther Fischer not only plays the Saxophone but also the Synthesizer! Despite the fact that this highly sought-after and therefore mostly fully booked studio and stage band worked with greats such as Manfred Krug, Uschi Brüning and Armin Müller Stahl in the 1970s, these deep and funky inspired "underground jazz" recordings were made and presented to select jazz concertgoers.
Günther Fischer and his formation show here that, in addition to the popular Soul Jazz field, they are
also in top form in the groovy, electric Avantgarde-Jazz Rock niche and are playing in the absolute top league. These four tracks are a unique discovery that already belong to the holy grail of Jazz and make Günther Fischer immortal in East German and international Jazz Funk of the 1970s.

Nearly 15 years have passed since the original version of this LP was released (the first iteration as a 4X12" LMTD set back in 2012), and it has truly aged like fine wine! This release features five timeless cuts from the mind and soul of cv313 and a truly mesmerizing otherwordly dub of the illusive radius project, mixed and recorded near the heart of Detroit! (with nearly all of the tracks making their debut on wax) This entire project has been beautifully remastered by dub innovator and pioneer, Stefan Betke [POLE] @ scape mastering in Berlin, DE. You can just drop the needle and close your eyes for a near 20 minutes of fathomless sonic depth, massaging your brain and mind, a deep dive into an immersive analogue world. Like all four previous volumes, Vol. 5 offers a colorful mix of songs from the late 1970s and early 1980s. From extremely rare tracks to easily accessible ones and even unreleased material-this release has everything to make a collector's heart race. Let's take a closer look at a few of the songs on this album. Kicking things off are Bill Deal & The Rhondels, a band that needs no introduction. The same cannot be said for Tom Balistreri and Ryjel. The latter presents "Heart's On Fire," a seven-minute journey into previously unreleased deep disco. "Old Mother Winter" may not be a typical disco song, but it's undoubtedly a fantastic composition. The Stone Mill Band is relatively unknown even among hardcore collectors. The most recent track on this album is by singer Tory Wynter who already contributed a song for Can You Feel It Vol.4. "Oh Let The Rain Fall Down" was released in 1988.
The second record opens with "Been Thinkin' About You" by Avatar-an amazing song and probably the rarest gem on this album, in stark contrast to Piz-Zazz - a record you can find easily for a few dollars. Saxophonist King Perkoff was born in Santa Monica, California, but now resides in Berlin, and with "When You Live In Marin" he delivers a real disco-funk banger! Glenn "Shake & Bake" Doughty played professional football as a wide receiver for the Baltimore Colts from 1972 to 1979. Together with some of his teammates, he founded the Shake & Bake Band in 1975. We probably aren't telling Tramp fans anything new here. Anyway, a little over two years ago, we reissued the first of their two extremely hard to find 45-RPM singles ("Shake & Bake Pt. 1 & 2"). We also included a DJ-friendly edit of the song on "Movements Vol. 12." It is a must for us here at Tramp that we also reissue their second single, "Starflight Disco Pt. 1 & 2," soon!
So there you have it, 13 obscure but brilliant MODERN SOUL, DISCO and BOOGIE tunes of which all have not been compiled anywhere else. We sincerely hope you enjoy our guided tour back into the late 1970s and 80s Disco era.

Records, D. Wynn reconnects with the deeply soulful Detroit sound that defined his

Born in Wroc?aw. Known and liked as a member of the Wroclaw-based duo Skalpel. Much less known and liked as the author of several solo albums that illustrate and explore different states of consciousness: Breslau (solo debut released on Ninja Tune) - the frenzy of war, Dream Logic - the meanders of dreams, Delirium - psychedelic hallucinations, Fyodor - religious exaltation and ethical illusions. On the album "Refleks", he explores the state of consciousness of an old digger and beatmaker. He lives in Wroclaw.

Refleks is tender and free. Of the two meanings of this word [in Polish], I choose the one that is a reflection of light on a river. Hypnotic and never monotonous, brilliant and charming, with depth slumbering beneath. The whirlpools we encounter on the album are only slightly cunning; they are rather playful. Although one can look into the abyss, it is not greedy-it allows you to stay on the shore and does not consume you unconditionally.
In some tracks, it even throws you out: you think you're still riding that slide-a tunnel you think is endless-but it ends safely and suddenly in the grass. In the plush. As if a momentary wind carried you away, only to stop at the least expected moment, finding yourself in a completely new yet seemingly familiar space-time-at home, which is not yours, yet not foreign either. While the titles clearly suggest Wroc?aw-based situations, in my opinion, we are moving on a higher level of intimacy and abstraction. On the waves of the ether, the forgotten element of everything that cannot be measured, weighed, or counted. What we know for sure, but might only seem so to us. In the hospitable cosmos of a well-settled head.
