P&D Recordings, the label run by Phil Weeks (Robsoul) and Didier Allyne (Syncrophone) has quietly gone about it’s business since 2008, re-releasing slabs of classic house music that have influenced the pair over the years. Having now reached their 5th Anniversary, Phil and Didier are releasing a compilation CD of the very best tracks they have licensed.Artists gracing P&D vinyl, and now this compilation CD, have included some of the dons of Detroit and Chicago such as Rick Wade, Chez Damier, Ront Trent, Joshua, Mike Dunn and Johnny Fiasco, as well as other US and worldwide stars like Jesper Dahlback, Mood II Swing, The Rhythmist and Quitefrut. The CD also includes two P&D productions, the collaboration between Phil and Didier, with final track ‘Closer’ being exclusive to the release.The simply titled ‘P&D Recordings 5th Anniversary Compilation’ represents the raw essense of house music from it’s founding fathers in the cities that gave birth to the now multi-faceted genre. There are no sub-genres on display here, every track is unadulterated House music at it’s most pure. Didier Allyne mainstay of the local techno stage, Didier Allyne embodies has some kind of underground Already in the mid 90ies: A record store clerk, distributor, artist and DJ & Founder Syncrophone Phil Weeks is a house music purist. Italy’s own L.D.F. returns with a fresh slab of raw, analog funk - pressed to wax and destined for selectors
who still worship the turntable altar. Known for his dusty drum programming, hardware-led studio rituals,
and a deep affection for the roots of house music, L.D.F. has steadily carved out a niche in the European
underground. His sound fuses Mediterranean warmth with Midwest grit - always rough-edged, authentic
and geared for the dancefloor.
His new vinyl-only EP entitled Tribute To The Latin Posse doffs its cap to early Chicago house - where
808’s snapped, synths hissed, and basement energy reigned supreme. Across five tracks, L.D.F. links up
with a heavyweight group of collaborators: Javonntte, Gari Romalis, Tilman, and Böhm. The result is an
EP that feels like a dusty box of DAT tapes discovered in an old storage unit - raw, immediate, and locked
into the groove. A study in machine rhythm, analog imperfections, and the timeless swing that defined the
earliest iterations of house.
Crunchy 808s punch through the mix on You & Me as deep stabs flicker like neon in a fogged-out
warehouse. A syncopated analog bassline snakes beneath it all while Javonntte and Tilman’s touch
elevates the track into a proper late-night mover - raw but undeniably soulful.
Tribal Dance is a stripped-back, early-90s-house-inspired workout. Drum-machine sweat, looping
percussion rituals, and hypnotic patterns built for dark rooms with low ceilings. Pure basement energyminimal elements, maximum impact.
Flip over for The Freaks (feat. Böhm) where shuffling house drums and a gritty groove define the cut.
Simple, repeated stabs lock into a trance-like rhythm while subtle rave accents flash at the edges. Böhm
adds just the right shade of tension to keep dancers suspended in motion.
Next up we have In & Out (feat. Gari Romalis) which is a deeper roller draped in filtered pads and
chopped-up vocal fragments. The drums hit with Detroit-born precision while the atmosphere drifts
somewhere between smoky after-hours and dream-state house meditation.
Closing the EP we have Light Speed (feat. Javonntte), an 808-driven DJ tool and this one is pure
propulsion. Javonntte delivers his unmistakable vocal flavour - loose, soulful, and charismatic - over a
skeletal, high-velocity rhythm. A perfectly stripped finale.
The underground keeps its secrets. Shadow Pressings simply amplifies them.

Delusions Of Grandeur is proud to welcome back emerging producer, multi-instrumentalist, and
vocalist Declan McDermott for his standout new EP, Why Don’t You Believe Me? Blending
analogue hardware and live musicianship with deep, groove-driven production, the release
showcases a confident and colourful voice in contemporary underground house.
Hailing from Sydney and now based in Berlin, Declan McDermott has quietly evolved into one of the
most intriguing new names in left-of-centre house music. A lifelong instrumentalist and vintage gear
authority he shifted from producer/musician-for-hire, to step into his own spotlight after falling in love
with the hypnotic pull of late-night deep house and dub-influenced dance records. His studio work
draws on analogue synths, vintage drum machines, field recordings, and his own understated vocal
delivery, forming a sound that’s warm, textural, and effortlessly soulful. With his debut release turning
heads among selectors who value emotion as much as groove, this EP marks his development as
one to watch.
Why Don’t You Believe Me? is a slow-mo deep-house meditation wrapped in warmth and weight.
Declan and his featured vocalists lay down their spoken and vocodered vocals across minimal,
stripped-back house drums, weaving through DX7 and OBX-a melodies with subtle dubby inflections.
It’s intimate but floor-friendly - an introspective nocturnal groove that sways rather than shouts.
Next up we have a remix from the revered French luminary I:Cube who lifts the BPM and launches
the track straight onto the club floor. Leaning into cosmic-disco and classic filter house, the remix is
propelled by a rolling, hypnotic bassline and warm Rhodes chops that drive the groove along. It’s a
classy, elevated rework with the signature I:Cube balance of drive and dreaminess.
Flipping over we have the legendary NYC-based DJ Nature (founding member of Bristol’s Wild
Bunch crew and sound system) who injects raw soul into the original, keeping things crunchy, real,
and deeply felt. Clipped drums, dusty organ textures, and a warm, human touch guide this version -
equal parts basement grit and emotive mood. It’s the kind of remix that feels like it could only come
from a seasoned hand.
The EP floats to a close on a serene, atmospheric note with Yara-Kimba (Lindeman Island).
Named after Yara-Kimba, the Indigenous name for Lindeman Island in the Ngaro Nation /
Whitsundays region of Australia, given by the Ngaro people, the traditional custodians of the land
meaning ‘place of the snapper fish. Echoes of Ron Trent’s spacious, spiritual deep house permeate
the arrangement, with gentle percussion, tropical tones, and a calm-breathing groove. As Declan
says “This track is a tribute to Yara-Kimba, inspired by childhood memories, the island’s natural
soundscape, and my vision of a distinctly Australian / Oceanic house sound.
