With an ability to slip the boundaries of the real world and enter new dimensions through their music, Flunk present their latest and final album Take Me Places. Familiar yet surreal in the same breath, the 11 tracks are soaked in the soft hues of dusk, dawn and the intervening stillness that sits between. Whether it's ethereal downtempo, immersive electronica, trip hop undertones or folk leanings, Flunk have crafted their finest work to date in this LP. A bittersweet swansong, as the band will dissolve back into the ether that their music inhabits following a run of live shows this spring and summer. Consisting of producer Ulf Nygaard, guitarist Jo Bakke, vocalist Anja Øyen Vister, and bassist Ole Kristian Wetten, the veteran Norwegian quartet is a band that has stayed true to its roots since the very beginning. Part of the Beatservice Records family since the early '00s, their distinctive amalgamation of folk, downtempo and indie rock has enamoured listeners the world over. Depth, emotion and beauty permeate their productions and Take Me Places is the perfect example of this. The album begins in signature storytelling fashion with 'Capitalism', a brooding journey through the underworld, interspersed with arresting vocal samples and haunting harmonies. It rolls symbolically into 'Trapdoor', pulsating through swirls of synth-laden deepness, crossing the boundaries between the ethereal and electronic realms. That celestial touch is a thread that ties together all of Flunk's work, regardless of the path they take or the genre they explore. 'Climbing Kilimanjaro' fills the air with dust-flecked sonics, as sweeping strings and modulating synths glisten in the hazy sunlight. Elsewhere, listeners are led on an absorbing eyes-closed journeys through the melancholy, Scandinavian sonic magic of 'Noise' and the powerful, yearning, off-world 'I Think I Like You'. On the album you'll also find two breathtaking covers. First, Flunk takes Massive Attack's classic and stamps their own distinctive mark on it. A sea of slow-motion synthesisers, sustained sliding guitars and reclining beats. Then, Nick Murphy aka Chet Faker's spellbinding song 'Message You At Midnight' reaches new stunning heights in Flunk's own signature way. Its delicate strings ebb and flow underneath Anja Øyen Vister's captivating vocals. Drawing Take Me Places to its conclusion, the minimalistic 'Omens' sees the deftness of Bakke's acoustic guitar in perfect synergy with Vister's dreamlike voice. It's a poignant note to signal the final stop in their long-standing career. Demystifying the mystical, bringing a human touch and connection to the ethereal depths below, Flunk have spent the last 25 years considerately undertaking this albums namesake. Flunk's third ordinary album 'Personal Stereo' was released in 2007. The album "Personal Stereo" is similar to the first two ("For Sleepyheads Only" (2002) and "Morning Star" (2004)) in that it is centered around Anja's elf-like vocals over Ulf's programmed electronica and Jo's layers of guitars and other stringed instruments. And even if uplifting melancholy is still the Flunk trademark, and Anja sings more beautifully than ever, "Personal Stereo" is in some ways darker than its predecessors. But it also sees a return to the debut album notion of cutting and pasting from the last 30 years of popular music, sometimes in an obvious way (as on the title track and "Change My Ways"), other times as more obscure nods to Flunk heroes. One of them, cult favorite Daniel Johnston, contributes with vocals on "Haldi". As usual, Flunk's "budget pop" is recorded and produced in its entirety in bedrooms in two different apartments in Oslo, at Ulf's and Jo's.

Beatservice are delighted to present the debut album from the irrepressible Norwegian outfit, b0ka, with 13 genre-surfing tracks lovingly presented on the gloriously pop-centric 'Forever, My Friend'. Friends since as far back as kindergarten, the b0ka players released a selection of highly regarded singles between 2013 and 2016, with their music arriving via prestige imprints including Eskimo, Paper Recordings, Diamond Club, and their own b0ka Recordings. They've since pursued a diverse range of projects, including Lakehouse, OJKOS, Bjørnar Sira and Den Kosmiske Overorden, with their expansive sounds routinely winning admirers throughout the global music community. The pandemic-induced lockdowns allowed the band an opportunity to re-visit long lost b0ka projects: reviewing dusty hard discs before funnelling the best morsels into the Sagrada Jukebox mixtape earlier this year. Daniel Steinberg debuts on Rekids the Berlin-based Arms & Legs boss drops the ‘Free Living’ EP . Berlin-based producer and DJ Daniel Steinberg lands on Rekids for the fi rst time with the ‘Free Living’ EP, 13th March 2026. Berlin-based Australian musician and producer Declan McDermott steps forward with his debut EP for Delusions Of Grandeur, bringing a raw yet soulful sound that reflects his unique journey through disco, funk, and soul music. Having cut his teeth as a multi-instrumentalist before delving deep into house and club culture, Declan naturally fuses his live musical talents with warm, analog-driven grooves. The result is a record that feels equally at home on the dance floor and in the living room, carrying both emotional depth and undeniable energy.

Doin It All 4 U sees Declan laying down a soulful, funky house jam and getting busy on the vocoder to great effect! With a bubbling live bassline, shimmering Rhodes, and crisp, crunchy drums, the track radiates warmth while maintaining a driving dance-floor sensibility.

Dutch house and disco heavyweight Tom Trago steps up for the first remix, transforming the original into a bass-heavy, club-ready edit. With his trademark groove and deep knowledge of house music’s roots, Trago reshapes the track into a peak-time weapon, pushing Declan’s soulful original straight onto the floor with tough low-end pressure and hypnotic flow.

New York-based artist Lovetempo, known for blending funk, soul and electronic textures into his productions, delivers the second remix. With rolling 808 drums and lush layers of moog synths, Lovetempo injects a heavy boogie sensibility into the track, reimagining it as a cosmic, groove-laden journey. His version adds a playful, analog richness that pays homage to disco and electro while carving its own forward-thinking space.

The EP closes with Dani, a deep and rolling jazzy house number featuring Luxonous (aka Omri Abramov) on soprano saxophone and EWI (electronic wind instrument). Built on a bed of liquid grooves and subtle atmospheres, the track conjures the spirit of Frederick Galliano and St Germain, weaving acoustic and electronic textures into a sophisticated whole. Both meditative and dynamic, it’s a fitting finale that underlines Declan’s range and sensitivity as a producer.
