Trelik is an A-grade label for minimal heads and now the founder, Baby Ford, welcomes back fellow micro-house specialist Ion Ludwig for vital two-tracker. 'It Broke With Speed' starts with jittery rhythms and blurts of synth as the rubbery bass rolls on and the percussion is spindled lightly up top. It's a more fulsome sound than you might expect from this producer but the art is in the intricacies of its layers. 'Archa Edel' on the B is quick and deep, speedy but tightly controlled with fluttering snares peeling off the groove and cosmic whimsy existing in the pads. Classy cuts as always.

Built around Isolée’s signature warm chords, skittering rhythms, and hypnotic restraint, 'Beau Mot Plage' remains a masterclass in subtle groove and emotional economy. The A-side opens with the Heaven & Earth Re-Edit, Luke Solomon and Rob Mello's extended take that amplifies the track’s balearic glow while preserving its intimate pulse. This is followed by the Freeform Five vs Idjut Boys Beats version, which nudges the original toward a looser, club-ready feel, adding bounce and attitude without sacrificing its understated charm. Both tracks are built around hypnotic rhythms and sparse, precise grooves characteristic of Hood's influential production ethos. Originally released in 1999, the EP reflects Hood's focus on minimalist electronic structures and dance floor functionality, and has remained a sought-after piece among fans of the genre.
2026 sees Robert Hood going back to his minimal techno roots and then flip things forward with remastered releases from his ground-breaking label, M-Plant. Throughout this year the Perpetual Masters series has been dropping one track per week, digitally, from Hood's extensive catalogue with remastering by legendary German producer, Thomas Heckmann. Marlon George is a British DJ and producer based in London renowned for his "slightly spacey, casually jazzy, and fully groovy house music," with support from names as illustrious as Kyle Hall and Jimpster. But really, if he's getting signed by the legendary Trelik, then that's all you need to know about his skills. He lays them bare across three tasteful cuts here, starting with the liquid dub of 'My Secrets Are Safe With Me' with its wispy shards of light piercing the water's surface and glistening against the dusty hi-hats. 'Najagen' has more drive but no less depth and warmth to it and 'Do The Rha!' is another smoky, minimal, heady dub house roller that sneaks right under your skin.

Metro Area 4 is the duo's fourth 12" EP, originally released in 2001.
