New DeepLabs Records release by label founder Luke Hess. Three functional and diverse Detroit Techno tracks with stripped down analog sounds reminiscent of the mid-90’s warehouse scene. Breakers combines a noisy Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 and Roland RE-201 Space Echo Tape Delay groove, TR-909 drum work, and a TB- 303 acid line to take listeners on a lush adventure in sound. This track is meant for the storyteller DJ. Jonah 2:5 – “The waters closed in over me to take my life; the deep surrounded me.“ Know that God is always near, even when life is overwhelming and things seem impossible. God will never leave you or forsake you. Depths was written using a Roland SH-101, Dave Smith Prophet 6, Vermona Retroverb, Roland RE-201 Space Echo Tape Delay, with TR- 909 & Acid Labs Miami drum work. This track is diverse, it adds life to the dance floor, and takes the listener on a journey through the depths of unexplored Detroit territories. Jonah 2:3 – “For you cast me into the deep, into the heart of the seas, and flood surrounded me.“ We can run from God, but He is always there. He is waiting to set us free and give us true life and peace. Submission is a bass heavy, melodic, & sci-fi electro cut, laced with analog arpeggios, field recordings of fireworks snapping across the sky, and Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 leads for a completely immersive aural experience. This track is intended to break up the monotony on the dance floor and force the listener to submit to the sound system. Jonah 3:10 – “When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, God relented and did not bring on them the destruction he had threatened.“ God’s intention is to have a deep relationship with us; He is waiting for us to turn to Him and allow Him to lead us.

Luke s choice to release on Supercinema came quite naturally: I m very excited for this release since the record is being realized through a new label owned by great friends who are very passionate about the music & the community it creates.

This September will see Visionquest release ‘Selector’ from Luke Hess, coming accompanied with remixes from Delsin artist d5, label co-founder Lee Curtiss and Maher Daniel. Detroit artist Luke Hess has been one of the most celebrated acts coming out of the motor city over the past decade with an impressive back catalogue boasting material on Omar S’ FXHE, Carl Craig’s Planet E, Echochord and Kontra-Musik to name but a few. Here though we see Hess join the roster of Visionquest following recent output from Wareika, Vlad Caia, Tuccillo and Mirko Loko. Title cut ‘Selector’ takes the lead and Luke Hess delivers his signature energy fuelled dub-led style with spiralling stab sequences, electronic jazz-tinged synth licks and a robust rhythmic drive. Delsin’s d5 steps up next on remix duties, delivering a similarly dubbed-out aesthetic while introducing glitchy arp’s, smoothly evolving string lines and a more refined drum style. Opening the latter half of the package is Visionquest’s very own Lee Curtiss taking on ‘Selector’ with a contrasting approach, dropping the tempo to create a slow burning feel with bumpy percussion, chugging bass tones and sporadic sweeps. Maher Daniels closes with the final remix, delivering a less-is-more interpretation focusing on intricately evolving atmospheric in the depths of the record while a sturdy rhythmic foundation carries the groove.

Adventures in Deep Space is a reflection of the wonder and complexity of recognizing that we as humans are creatures with a limited capacity stranded on a planet somewhere in the universe searching for meaning and purpose while also recognizing that what we do every moment can shape the outcome of our future on earth and might ultimately become small and meaningful stitching's that could shape the fabric of our future in space. Pillars of creation represents the beauty of the stars on a clear night and the inspiring feeling that staring at the galaxy gives: how grand the universe is, how amazing it is that we have the ability to love, think, and reason, how small our problems really are in the grand scheme of reality, the idea that there may be a purpose much greater than ourselves, and that somehow we could be a part of this grand purpose. Gravitational Effects is about the parallel between the physical properties of science and creation and how we are also all physically and mentally attracted to certain people. The music speaks to the deep connection that is possible between humans and how we should all respect each other to form a more loving, peaceful, strong, and lasting community. Crate Digging on Planet Omnom is about a dream and a hope... Traveling through the universe in a nice space cruiser with your niks - stopping by planet Omnom (aka Gary's place) for some dope new records, a hike in the alien mountains, a dip in some hot springs, and then topping the trip off with some space dancing around a neon green campfire.

Luke Hess' Dimension.D EP is the 5th release on his own DeepLabs Detroit imprint. The title track Dimension.D is a perfect balance between house and techno, and it contains all the right signals for becoming a future Detroit classic. Dimension.D creates the frenzy of a dance floor filler with robotic vocals, raw Detroit stabs, and funky-tweaky percussion grooves. The Dimension.D VOX Reshape is a loose and beat-less version of the title track with a focus on the robotic vocal surrounded by tape processing and the introduction of new analog elements. Mission.106 takes up the entire B-side of the record and is a dark melodic Detroit techno gem, reminiscent of classic mid-90's Detroit warehouse music and suitable for heavy rotation on all serious sound systems.

We are very proud to welcome back one of our greatest artists and good friend Luke Hess from Detroit. The Ancient Greek word for Passion is "Paskho", which means to suffer. When we have passion for something in life we are willing to suffer for it. However, suffering can produce many positive things in our character, because as we suffer through this life we grow stronger. This EP was created with a passion for not only the analog machines that created it, but also for the people on the dance-floor who will hear the music. This EP was created out of a loving passion for others. Out of an artist's toil and suffering it is possible to create special moments in other people's lives. The Paskho track comes in 2 versions. Shining lights in London’s queer electronic underground, prolific duo FAFF make their de Drawing equally on peak-time club catharsis and the emotive experimentation of golden-era IDM and electro, these recordings meld the pair’s diverse DJ sets and ambient live work, which has captivated festivals including Draimollen, Field Maneuvers, and Body Movements. The title track, ‘A Few Good Days, ’ melds hypnotic percussion, snatches of vocal euphoria, and a stuttering break for instant post-rave afterglow. Its wandering but compelling arrangement subtly invokes and updates the pioneering aesthetic of One Dove, Sabres of Paradise, or even William Orbit.
