Since his last appearance on Hemlock (2015's double EP HEK025) Hodge has produced a seemingly effortless sequence of celebrated EPs and collaborations for Livity Sound, Berceuse Heroique and No Corner. Equally comfortable squaring up with heavyweights such as Randomer and Peder Mannerfelt as he is maintaining a prolific solo production output; Hodge has cemented himself as a leading voice in UK dance music and a champion of the elusive sweet spot where functional techno resonates with soundsystem culture. One for the Hemlock fans who have been patiently tolerating this year's more experimental cuts. 'Swing for the Fences' is straight down to business getting the kicks in below one of those ear-wormer percussive atonal toplines Hodge does so well… the drop is one of the heaviest we've heard this year and tipped to raise some fingers, open mouths and spill drinks across dancefloors and TV studios worldwide.

Less pool cue more pool party 'Aomame' is a breezy melodic (patio) heater powered by tough drums and intricate percussive work. Arranged for both the dancers and the heads it freely refreshes and translates the main theme with a precision and playfulness that few producers can match.

'Medway' will warm up or cool out the dance with big room sirens and some rude detuned drum work. Still no messing about on the B2: It's a Hodge thing all the way.

Punch Drunk proudly closes 2013 with a fearsome new 12” single from Hodge. This release marks his first solo release on the label following up his collaboration with Peverelist entitled ‘Bells’, which appeared earlier this year. Previous releases for Deadplate and Well Rounded Housing Projects have been well received, but we believe that this new record is certainly his best to date. On these two new tracks, Hodge draws on distinctly UK influences combining thumping broken jungle techno and modern era Bristolian dub aesthetics. Kicking off the 12”, “Resolve” is a real belter, rugged, visceral and pumped with attitude and adrenaline. On the other side, Prototype Fear delves deeper into the psyche, with shifting hypnotic machine riffing, frenetic nervous rhythms and unearthly bass pulses. Hodge has recently achieved great success with his House based project Outboxx with collaborators Matt Lambert and vocalist Naomi Jeremy, culminating in an album this year on Bristol’s Idle Hands label and a summer touring festivals and clubs throughout Europe. This record is a landmark 12” in defining Hodge as an artist in his own right, whilst adding another classic to the Punch Drunk legacy of hybrid electronic dance music from Bristol.

Hodge is a man of truly Well Rounded talents - creating infectious melody laden deep house with Outboxx, across to his own weighty bruk-techno movers for the likes of Deadplate Records, to his recent truly forward-thinking collaboration with the ever inspirational Pev. Here however we wanted to showcase some of the more unconventional ideas he incorporates into that original yet essentially house & techno related direction of his. After discussion we discovered this was somewhat inspired by science fiction novels. And why not? 'Holographic Prose' opens proceeding, skittering about in an anti-gravity atmosphere the bass literally 'comes up' in this. Fluttering melodies and wooshing chords over a piston-driven rhythm builds the tension until all electronic heaven breaks loose on deserving dancefloors. 'Pressure''s stargazing synths create a feeling of awe and wonder like hovering crafts in the sky. Meanwhile down on the planet's surface the sounds of industry and construction echo in the night.
'Monster' is a soulful drift down a river of bass. Synths bubble up to the surface under the measured melody. A meloncholy mood given movement.
Finally, and by no means least, is the resplendent 'Slowing Behaviour'. How such a heavy kick and a feeling of weightlessness compliment each other here is excellent. If you tune in to this track - there is always a sense of gradual ascension. We're heading for the next level. Can you feel it? We hope to take you with us as we break free from certain dancefloor constraints.

Recorded in a full-fledged Recording Studio in Brooklyn New York, the idea behind this current project was to assemble a few admires of Kuniyuki's music and invite them to participate in the composition.
The musicians on this project include master percussionist composer Lekan Babalola on African Drums and Percussion, Lead Guitarist James Bergeau , Joaquin Joe Claussell Main Voice and Percussions; And of course, the artist himself Kuniyuki Takahashi and Acoustic Piano, Keyboards and Drum Programming.

Mythical "lost" EP from LA based outernational psych & spiritual jazz collective, now on vinyl for the first time. Right after their celebrated debut single, Sun Atlas recorded material for a potential full length - the 8 gems you find on this 10" EP. A dozen acetates were cut for DJs to test rough mixes in the wild, album concepts were made and then the pandemic changed plans. People relocated, the line-up evolved and the project was shelved in favour of new recordings that became their acclaimed debut album "Return To The Spirit". Unpolished and intuitive, these unreleased "acetate mixes" contain a magical spark. These 8 tunes are full of twangy guitars, otherworldly organs, lo-fi synths, big horns and dope drums, a wild mix of breakin' funk, cinematic soul, outernational jazz, surf and garage. R.F.I. is the first collaboration between London-based drummer Andy Baxter (Robohands) and LA-based multi-instrumentalist Jack Barone. The EP focuses on Middle Eastern scales and features 100% analog instrumentation, including guitar, bass, synth, and drums. It was recorded using fully analog gear to achieve a warm, saturated sound. Trumpeter Cesar Apolinar Hernandez and vocalist Alya Olcan appear on tracks A1 and A2. The record's title references Radio Frequency Interference, and the B-side includes an etching of radio towers as a visual nod to that concept. R.F.I. was designed with a clear structure across its tracks and highlights the artists' shared interest in analog production and global musical influences. With over 81,000 Spotify followers and nearly 10,000 vinyl records sold worldwide, Robohands has earned widespread acclaim, including support from BBC Radio 2's Jamie Cullum (Best in Jazz), Huey Morgan (Album and Beat of the Week), KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic, Soho Radio, and Paste Magazine.
