Devianza, leading artist and owner of the label, returns to production by launching a new series of single-sided vinyl releases, each featuring only two tracks. The first instalment is a sonic catharsis rising from the very depths of a generous land, abundant with new seeds ready to sprout. 'Le Piante di Elena' is a dreamlike homage to a primordial world - untouched, pure, and still fertile. A tribute to a newborn bearer of the most radical values of a necessary humanism: a call to return to nature in its most spiritual and purest form. Devianza appears to be evolving into a higher, more spiritual dimension, where spirituality itself becomes the guiding force behind his musical production.
The single side opens with 'Betullae', a hypnotic ride between deep and leftfield, characteristic of Devianza's sound, but this time enriched with an Indian tonal and modal flavour. Forest landscapes are traced by piano motifs that evoke interstellar journeys among endless birch trees.
'Sunset' continues the hypnotic drift with a melodic crescendo that conjures the image of a sunflower field bathed in the warm glow of a summer sunset without wind. Here, where everything stands still yet everything is, this eight-minute piece becomes proof of the rarefaction of time - an instant that, though fleeting, feels infinite.

The 11th release on ALIM Music, Brian Jackson - Is That Jazz? is destined to be considered a masterpiece reworking of a masterpiece of an original. Featuring the vocals of Rahsaan Patterson and the quality production of Masters At Work, Brian Jackson has paid a real tribute to his former collaborator, Gil Scott-Heron, in covering a track originally released on Heron's 1981 Reflections album.

Brian Jackson truly is a legend of Black Music through his aforementioned collaborations with Gil Scott-Heron to his recent BBE releases This Is Brian Jackson, All Talk, Mami Wata and Little Orphan Boy. There is no need for hyperbole when speaking of Brian's contribution to music, because the music and his track record speak for themselves. He truly is a legend in his craft.

Rahsaan Patterson's distinctive vocal style has attracted praise and recognition from no less a beacon of Black Music than Chaka Khan. His co-billings have been equally impressive with a list that includes Lalah Hathaway and Earth, Wind & Fire, collaborations with Faith Evans, Ledisi and Rachelle Ferrell and he has had his own compositions recorded by Brandy and Van Hunt.

New York City, early 1980s. Post-Disco and Boogie Funk pulse through the streets, clubs, and studios—and Richie Weeks stands at the heart of it all. A true force in the scene, Richie had just dropped the now-classic “Rock Your World” in 1981. Signed to the iconic Salsoul Records, he was riding high: performing at legendary venues like Paradise Garage, Studio 54, Roseland, and Bond International, touring Europe, and recording tirelessly with top-tier vocalists and musicians in studios across the city.

With his projects The Jammers and Weeks & Co. storming the charts both in the U.S. and abroad, Richie was unstoppable. Fueled by a relentless creative drive, he spent countless hours in the studio—writing, arranging, and producing a massive catalog of dancefloor anthems, many of which never saw release. Until now.

Spanning 1980 to 1983, this collection features eight electrifying, previously unreleased tracks from The Jammers and Weeks & Co., as well as the futuristic grooves of Kaviar and Hot Cargo. Richie shines through the entire record—his writing, production, vocals, and arrangements are absolute killers.

Gil Scott-Heron and Brian Jackson's The Revolution Will Not Be Televised, the iconic song of protest and Black Consciousness, has been reimagined and revitalised for a new generation. With new lyrics and vocal performance from Black Thought, a reworked and bassline-heavy production by Masters at Work, Brian Jackson has recreated an absolute masterpiece.

Originally taken from Gil's poem as performed on his Small Talk at 125th & Lenox and then released as a proto Hip-Hop song featuring Bernard Purdie's drumming on the 1974 Pieces of a Man album, this new version updates the track's original powerful lyrics to include references to the propaganda of Fox News, social media tropes, live streaming, taking the knee and modern day consumerism. Delivered by Black Thought in his imitable style and accompanied by Brian Jackson's incisive jazz flute, these new lyrics represent a Black Liberation call to action for today's world.

Aphex Twin’s ‘Xylem Tube’ EP arrived in the summer of 1992 on R&S Records, coming hot off the heels of his landmark ‘Digeridoo’ release, and an audacious follow up from the then 21-year-old Richard D. James. Out of print for nearly two decades, this long-awaited vinyl reissue restores one of the pivotal early works in his catalogue.

Where ‘Digeridoo’ pushed the endurance of the rave floor to its limits, the ‘Xylem Tube’ EP stretched the Aphex Twin sound into new dimensions with ‘Polynomial-C’ becoming an enduring classic with its spiralling arpeggios, shattering breakbeats and alien melodics. Tracks like ‘Phlange Phace’ and ‘Tamphex (Hedphuq Mix)’ pushed distortion, humour and rhythm into uncharted territory, while ‘Dodeccaheedron’ acts as a bold signifier of James’ radical ideas of how dance music can sound, with its ominous and brooding synth work over a cacophony of eerie, broken beats.

Three decades later, the EP stands not only as a key chapter in the Aphex canon, but also as a statement of intent from an artist set on reshaping electronic music’s DNA. Now faithfully reissued on vinyl for the first time since a 2006 pressing, this edition returns one of the most in-demand Aphex R&S titles to circulation after nearly twenty years out of print.
