The duo are sonically at home on Nu Groove, originally created in 1988 as an outlet for The Burrell Brothers’ avant-garde house sound. Title track ‘Talk Dirty’ demonstrates the unique power that Paranoid London cultivate on the dancefloor, inspired by the original sound of Chicago house; featured on the record is their frequent collaborator Josh Caffe, a prolific house and techno vocalist who has also worked with icon of the scene Honey Dijon. After the success of the first volume, “Nihon No Wave 2” continues to unearth the hidden history of Japan’s underground electronic scene from the ’80s. This second installment digs even deeper into the archives, showcasing more rare tracks from obscure artists who operated on the fringes of Japan’s independent music world.
Like its predecessor, “Nihon No Wave 2” captures the raw energy and experimental spirit of the “Nippon-wave” era—where lo-fi synths, minimal rhythms, and post-punk aesthetics converged into a uniquely Japanese take on global sounds. Many of these recordings, originally released on cassette compilations or small-run vinyl with no international reach, have remained virtually unknown outside Japan.
Double vinyl limited to 550 copies with printed inner sleeves and insert with photos and full credits. Housed in a deluxe silk-screened and sewn synthetic paper jacket.
