This Dutch music project was created in the late 1980s by two graphic designers, Edwin Van Der Laag and Huib Shippers, who were in love with electronic music. Their debut album is divided into two parts, the first with Edwin’s music and the second with Huib’s. Obviously Van Der Laag’s songs are inspired by Laserdance, for which Van Der Laag also designed album covers, however Shippers’ part is slightly different, less aggressive, trance-inducing, which makes the whole album truly extraordinary. This is the first vinyl reissue of this album since its first appearance.

On this album, Edwin breaks away from danceable space synth formula and moves towards strongly electronic, ambient, distant, extra-galactic spaces with his Atari 1040 ST. The music from this album had a huge impact on electronic music enthusiasts and remained an inspiration to many young artists.

After the success of Citta/Notte twelve inch reissue, Taigher reached into his drawer of unreleased songs from the 1980s and found a demo of NUVOLE. After some brainstorming, the Vintage Pleasure Boutique team together with Taigher decided to finish the production that started back in 1986. And here is Taigher’s second single, a soft Italo disco production, including an Italoconnection remix, and additionally a ballad version, referring to the original primary demo.

Marino Scarabelli, the creator of unforgettable progressions in “Are You Loving” and “Love In A Summer Night”, so characteristic and unique that can still give us goosebumps, sat down in the studio again and composed another italo banger. Traditionally, he was joined by Stefano Brignoli, who wrote the lyrics and lent his voice, and that’s how we witnessed the creation of new bomb by Some Bizarre. But this is not the end of the sensation, because Linda Jo Rizzo joined the band as a guest and you will hear her in female vocal parts, as befits real, indigenous Italo disco. The whole thing was produced by A.P. Mono in collaboration with Marino Scarabelli. For dessert, a very nice remix by Electro Potato.

In 1988, this tune created a sensation on the dance floors of Europe and Japan. Massimo Morini, has been technical director and conductor of San Remo festival for over 30 years. On his conducting debut in 1995 he was only 26 years old. Before his big hall music adventure started, back in 1985 he formed his first italo disco group – J.F & Hitwave, later to be transformed into Love Kills (I want to Become). A forgotten and highly demanded among obscure 7" italo collectors tune titled “Dance Floor Girl” is now brought back to the light of day on a 12" vinyl. “In The Sand” is an 80s rare groove classic originally written by the British band iLevel, here given a lush post-disco treatment in a perfect S-Tone Inc. style, and receives here a well-deserved ‘physical treatment’ with this 7-inch record, backed with the unreleased original track “Tudo Pra Ela” (Everything for Her). “In The Sand” features once again Julia St. Louis on vocals - recently heard on the previous single “Pressure” - and Marco Brioschi on trumpet. “Tudo Pra Ela” sees Toco on vocals and Priscila Ribas adding a sensual feminine touch on backing vocals; Brazilian jazz bassist Edu Hebling plays disco-styled basslines, while Stefano Tirone on keyboards and guitars defines the main coordinates back to the early 80s, renovating his love for that sound.

The album also contains a previously unreleased instrumental version of “Samba Skindim” (title track from the 2009 10” EP), a ‘great classic’ and one of Frisina’s most appreciated compositions both by listeners and Gerardo himself.

Firmly bound to Schema Records since the beginning (“Ad Lib”, 2001), in over twenty years of career Gerardo Frisina has released several records that have consolidated his status as a leading name in the international jazz and electronic music scene. Always unique in blending traditional elements (latin jazz, funk, soul) with modern sounds, since “Moving Ahead” (2020) in particular Gerardo has introduced new ‘cosmic’ and ‘futuristic’ elements into his style, in a constant evolution that culminates today with “In Sight”: this new double work, conceived and produced in two separate volumes - the first to be released on April 4th, 2025 - further refines a sound that can be clearly recognized from the first notes
of each track.
Anticipated by the two singles “Mindoro” and “Desejar”, “In Sight Vol. 1” is finally revealed in all its glory.
