In a flurry of angular beats and space age synth licks, Livity Sound welcomes Willis Anne to the fold under the guise of a new alias, FOREIGNER. Operating within the thriving scene around his current base Naarm, Anne brings a live, jammed-out focus to machine-rooted electronic performance that translates into his productions. All four tracks on this new EP crackle with improvised energy, whether it manifests in the dramatic synth shapes on 'Last Peoples' or tangled up in the beat exploration on 'Visible'. At its core, the EP makes its mark thanks to the clarity of Anne's ideas as he swerves the temptation to over-work the sound, ringing true with the immediate, spacious approach of Livity Sound's many-sided catalogue.

Livity Sound is a label set up by Peverelist in 2011 as a vehicle for a raw and exploratory strain of UK techno, rooted in the heritage of UK dance music and sound system culture. It has since become one of the UK's foremost protagonists for cutting edge underground electronic music.

Shinichi Atobe’s fifth album for DDS, his first in two years. Deep and sublime, the classic Chain
Reaction < > Chicago House vibe, but this time with a swarming Drexciyan undercurrent,
somewhere between DJ Sprinkles, Dopplereffekt and The Other People Place, still 100% Shinichi.
It’s odd working with an artist without ongoing dialogue; no context or an exchange of ideas. It’s
all conjecture. Here’s another CD of material in the post from Shinichi, two years more or less since
the last one. No words except for the track titles. Oh, a photo this time.
‘Yes’, positivity, hope. But the album starts with a dystopian vision; something like Dopplereffekt’s
sound-chemistry experiments, a tense builder. Big optimistic chasms open up, the Piano House
euphoria of the title track, beautiful sunset closer ‘Ocean 1’. But there’s a noticeable change too.
‘Lake 2’ is more fraught sci-fi, ‘Lake 3’ a sort of percussive Chain Reaction monster, ‘Loop 1’ on a
Drexciyan tip.
It’s all coated in that weird - some people say infuriating - toppy production, witnessed this time
in a more tempered and different formation courtesy of an amazing Rashad Becker master, all
precise but loosely swung arrangements. Everything slow to unfurl but, also, everything in exactly
the right place

Opening with So Right, the record sets a distinct tone, with rolling percussion and a hypnotic vocal line threading through the mix with restraint and control. 420% FODA leans into classic swing and texture, tightly looped and built for movement without ever overreaching. On the B-side, CRAVO offers Future Detroit, a stripped-back piece with room to breathe, subtle in its shifts but firm in its intent. VIL rounds off the EP with Hard to Find, a playful closer that keeps things buoyant and dynamic, pushing forward without losing its shape.

As one of the most prolific and influential producers of the last thirty years, The Hacker’s imprint on electronic music already spans genres, eras and scene revolutions. And still, there’s more. Die in Frankreich geborene und in Berlin lebende DJane, Soundkünstlerin und Produzentin rRoxymore tauchte erstmals 2012 mit dem zehnminütigen Epos "Wheel of Fortune" auf, das auf Planningtorocks Human Level veröffentlicht wurde. Seitdem hat sie regelmäßig Musik veröffentlicht, ihren Sound dabei immer wieder neu erfunden, von hypnotischem Leftfield-Techno über UK-Bass-Mutationen bis hin zu genreübergreifenden Dub-Kuriositäten und vielem mehr. 2019 erschien ihr Debütalbum "Face To Phase" und kürzlich "I Wanted More", eine Vier-Track-EP, die von Downtempo-Ambient bis hin zu üppigem Deep House reichte. Auf ihrem zweiten Album "Perpetual Now" zeigt sie erneut ihre Neigung, die klanglichen Grenzen auszuloten. Es ist eine langsam brennende Platte, auf der die Grenzen zwischen dem Elektronischen und dem Organischen verschwimmen. Hell Yeah series File Under Balearic Gabba continues its mission to bring some vital, previously digital-only Balearic Gabba weaponry to vinyl for the first time. This second volume has artwork by Planet Luke and features Wallace next to new school stars SIRS and Pedro Bertho.

Tartan Records label head and British talent Wallace opens up with a remix of Sewell And The Gong's 'Better Words' that has been a real summer hit for label head Marco Gallerani.

The original came on Jason Boardman's fine Before I Die label and is one of those jams that transcends genre and wins over techno heads, Adriatic beach groovers and festival main stages alike. It is 'proper Balearic Gabba' says Marco with its tropical percussion, humid pads and watery droplets all adding lush atmosphere to the dubby drums. The chords and reedy leads are beautifully delicate but get floors in a blissed-out, loved-up trance.

SIRS is an artist on fire right now and already impressed on this label with his remix of Aura Safari which is one of the year's standout Balearic house jams. He has a new single on the way for Hell Yeah but first flips label mate My Friend Dario's 'Tellaro' into a wobbly, psyched-out dub disco and breakbeat chugger. The zippy synths and shimmering keys are underpinned with a taught bassline and playful vocals that bring great fun and irresistible party vibes to any set.

Hell Yeah mainstay Verdo then has his 'Boulevardier' remixed by Pedro Bertho, a rising talent from Brazil with a steamy South American style. This one is a modern beach classic that unites both young and old heads with its frayed analogue drums and snappy percussion joining the dots between 80s Chicago house, new age and Balearic with its big piano chords and phased bass all getting hands the air.
