An album by K15 feels long overdue. Having made music for over 20 years, consistently released for 1o, it’s a fair comment. If you ask him, he’ll tell you that most of his releases he sees and treats like albums; releases laden with coherent themes, concepts and a sense of identity.
Hope Is Perseverance is another example of this. From the dreamlike haze of ‘life interrupted’, to the textures of ‘hollowed’ and ‘new territories’, this album is rooted in cinematic hues with a touch of beat culture.
The title track is a 9min+ jaunt through soul-stirring string arrangements, whirling electric pianos and the kind of infectious drum programming that we’ve come to expect from K15.
While the album serves as an ode to the importance of hope, it’s also a reminder of the many facets of K15. Enjoy!

Laurent Garnier is joining the ‘fabric presents’ mix series, and details are now out on this bespoke milestone release. The trailblazing DJ and producer is doing not one but four mixes as he embraces an opportunity to go even bigger for the London institution in its 25th groundbreaking year. A full-spectrum and multi-genre release, there’s a UK-focus, house, techno and downtempo mix. In his words, “diversity makes it richer, makes it better.” Eager to pay homage to the vitality of club culture, his vision is to take us through a rapturous weekend at fabric from Friday through to the afters. Making it even more unique, he’s also dropping an original four-track EP - one track per genre. Garnier: “Clubs have been my second home since the start of my career. Once you’ve witnessed that unique connection you can create in a club with a crowd, once you’ve experienced it from behind the decks, you just know you are where you’re meant to be. This special journey with fabric is of course a tribute to the legendary London club - a place that’s been a home to so many clubbers, DJs and music-lovers for so many years - but most of all, a tribute to all the dancefloors and all the clubs around the world.” Ploughing through hundreds of records a day, it’s no surprise to hear Garnier describe the track selection process as being “complicated”. His enriching trip through fabric spans over five hours with each mix coming in at 1 hour 20 minutes. Across all four, it’s clear that he’s immersed in the present and future-focussed with a majority of the chosen records dropping only in the last three years. The House Odyssey mix kicks off with afro house via South African producer Mr. Blasé, and the vibrancy continues through cuts from Cape Verde to Chicago as newer faces Culoe De Song, Neinzer and Tal Fussman meet linchpins DJ Spen, DJ Lady D and Mike Dunn. In techno, his Rhythmic Resonance mix is searing with high impact moments from Red Axes, John Tejada, Electric Rescue, Works of Intent, and himself as three of his own epic productions feature. A UK-focus underpins Garnier’s nod to fabric’s fervent bass devotees with the Into The Low-End session featuring Skrillex, MC GQ, Sami Virji and Martin Badder. On The Way Home sidles up to clubbers for a downtempo dust down with stunning explorations from Daudi Matsiko, Adriano Koch, Richie Culver and Melody Gardot, among others. His EP further showcases his mastery of genres. Luminous house cut ‘Odyssée Maison’ is in for spirited dancefloor grabs with Dan Diamond on vocals, while ‘Resonances From The D’ is for techno heads, glued together with tumbling rhythms, soaring synths and scattering hi-hats. ‘Playing With The Low-End’ is the bass-doused maze that looms large before ‘On The Way Home’ brings a shower of orbiting synths. One for collectors, especially as the uniquely-packaged deluxe vinyl and CD are limited editions, it drops as physical-only on 29th November. The deluxe LP includes a bespoke box, coloured vinyl of the mixes and 12” EP and a picture booklet of Garnier. The CD comes with embossed ‘25 Years of fabric’ aluminium cases and the booklet. No computer involved as impeccable arrangements and analogue reverberations unfold. Live and direct in the original Dub mixing fashion, the Augsburg-based artist uniquely transports the sonic characteristics of Rhythm & Sound into the
present time.

Subtle vinyl crackles gently introducing meditative beats, 'Run Dub' sets the pace. Keen listeners find themselves embedded in lively echoes and reverbs, left to bask in smooth, sonic contemplation. Engineered to soothe the soul, timeless foundation sound. Intensified groove meets low-frequency pressure in 'Amir Dub' among haunting melodica fragments. '(Yes!) Badness' unsheathes its off-kilter swing, vocal and foley samples musing in the distance - further showcasing Another Channel's technical prowess. Heavy chord stabs and delicate overdrive counterpoint the immense scope of conjured space in 'Ael Na Dub', concluding a beautiful A-Side.

Lush chords lure us to the flip-side - 'Solid' kicks off with a staccato bass-line in the midst of lavish white noise surges and minimal drums. Rooted in endless feedback trails, steadily kept in check. Previously teased, the mighty 'Ethiopian Dub' steps through in full glory, carried by militant drum motion and forceful low-end. On a more spacious excursion, 'Uranus' takes a brightly lit stroll through the analogue Dub universe, led on by Another Channel's signature groove propulsion. Pointing back towards A-Side, prolific Dub proponent Babe Roots presents his musical qualities in a monumental remix of 'Run'.

A natural fit for the Token label and now a regular contributor, Nørbak presents his new release 'Flauta' on the Belgian imprint. Keeping things driving and dense, his productions boast a raw intensity, continuing to describe spacious rooms with roaring atmospheres.

The title track serves as a firm introduction to the project; 'Flauta' is a typical Nørbak A1. Claps on the kick, thick sound design on all levels, and tribal percussion make for an imposing first track. Finding groove in the chaos is never difficult for the Portuguese artist, his seamless blend of functional and mental techno make for quite a recognizable sound with reliable effect. On the other hand, his followup 'Despida' sharpens the tone and focuses its elements. Proving he can do just as much damage with a more minimal approach, Nørbak drops the claps for shakers and whips up a distorted stab as the main driver of the track. Despite the versatility of his records, there is something very homogenous about the tonality of his drums and synths - they seem electric, and 'Despida' truly nails that aesthetic. Moving on to the B side, we have yet another facade of the project. While 'Golpe' has a classic foundation, Nørbak's flamboyant sound design guides the track's arrangement, making anything but a loop. The record's structure makes for clear accents that insist on a pulsating atmosphere. This moves perfectly into the EP's conclusion. 'Camarada' resembles more 'Despida' in the minimal construction, retaining a lot of the squelching lead textures. Mastering the question/answer style of techno, Nørbak is able to capitalize on the tonality of his sonic experiments to create swing on the dance floor. Obscure, quick, and elusive, Nørbak wraps up 'Flauta' with restraint and efficiency.

Rzee Jackson, also known by his stage names Esso Jaxxon and Castro Pink, has been a transformative figure in the reggae music scene, both in Jamaica and Canada. Originally from Clarendon, Jamaica, Jackson's musical journey began in earnest when he moved to Canada in 1975 after a cultural exchange program in the United States. Toronto's reggae scene was vibrant with legendary figure such as Jackie Mittoo of Studio One fame, and Rzee Jackson was at the forefront, contributing to the city's unique Jamaican vibes.

Leroy Sibbles, the lead singer of The Heptones, recognized Jackson's talent and brought him into the Ital Groove Band, where Jackson sang harmonies, played Gong Bap/Congos, and engineered. The Ital Groove Band became one of Canada's most prolific reggae bands, with Jackson touring extensively. With The Ital Groove Band, Rzee Jackson quickly made his mark, collaborating with renowned producer Oswald Creary of Half Moon Records.

Through his own indie labels : Ital, BeeZee Sounds Production, and Radio Plus, Rzee Jackson has recorded and distributed music with CC Records and Jet Star in the UK. His records have resonated on radio stations across Canada, the USA, Europe, Africa, and Brazil.
On this new Jamwax release, you will play two standout tracks from the "New Beat" album, originally released in the mid-80s in Canada on Ossie Records, the label owned by Oswald Creary.

The reissue features on A-Side "Row Fisherman Row," a timeless classic from Cedric Myton & The Congos, "Blackheart Man" the iconic song from Bunny Wailer and on the B-Side "Long Long Time" a deep extended 12-inch roots track with dubwise elements reminiscent of King Tubby's style. All songs, produced by Rzee Jackson, were recorded at Half Moon Recording Studio in Toronto, Canada, under the expert engineering of Oswald Creary.

This reissue also boasts new sleeve artwork by Ras Mykha, capturing an Ethiopian-inspired scene that depicts Rzee Jackson, Jackie Mittoo, and Cedric Myton in a fisherman boat, celebrating the unity and legacy of these reggae legends.

In recent years, Rzee Jackson has been collaborating with Cedric Myton and The Congos. As a producer, engineer, singer, and songwriter, Rzee Jackson continues to contribute to the rich tapestry of reggae music, bringing authentic Jamaican and Rasta vibes to audiences globally.
