Kermesse have been a regular feature of The Magic Movement after dropping their debut album on the label in 2018.
The Limbo EP is the duo's sixth release on the imprint. They have also featured their spellbinding style of stripped-back organic house on other highly respected record labels such as Sol Selectas, Bar 25 Music, Stil Vor Talent and LNDKHN.
Based in Buenos Aires, Pedro and Gurtz aka Kermesse are outstanding musicians who fuse live instrumentation and Pedro's vocals with electronic beats to create coloUrful downtempo grooves. They are also famed for their captivating live shows where they perform their tunes with lots of improvisation and dazzle the dance floor with their enchanting style.
'Limbo' opens with a plodding bassline and crisp percussion sequenced into shuffling rhythms which form the foundation for the track's trippy vocals and intricate melody.
'On The Road' is just as groovy, with a rippling modulation bassline featuring acid undertones and a deep melody washed in reverence to give it a dreamscape atmosphere.
'Wawanko' is an upbeat and jovial track with lots of atmospheric textures and an uplifting melody that fills the track with feel-good vibes, while the percussion provides a dance floor focused groove.
'Melting' closes out the release with a bewitching feeling, psychedelic lyrics and a gleeful melody that fills the track with heart-warming energy.

"Antipodes" starts off with a funky bass-line, trippy bells and syncopated claps which set an psychedelic Afro vibe from the very beginning. Mystical noises increase this mood, till a hypnotising Moog hook calls for action. And at the latest when the sub bass finally drops in, the scenery transforms into an ecstatic ritual dance.

We complete 2019 with the "Sky, Horse and Catch EP" by label boss Noema himself. On his quest to "Bring the Jams", the world traveling DJ delivers two stunning tunes, streaked with percussions that he recorded on a trip to Sao Paulo. We complete 2019 with the "Sky, Horse and Catch EP" by label boss Noema himself. On his quest to "Bring the Jams", the world traveling DJ delivers two stunning tunes, streaked with percussions that he recorded on a trip to Sao Paulo. Last but not least, Noema's EP comes along with a mind-bending remix by our favorite Romanians Khidja.
The title track "Sky, Horse and Catch" translates a 90's Detroit House Groove to the present day and adds Cuica, Berimbau and several other Brazilian drums on top. The Magic Movement marks its twenty-fifth release this May with Coss & Luca Musto's 'Remind Me Tomorrow' EP, comprised of three originals from the Berlin-based pair and a remix from label boss Noema.
Coss has been a mainstay at Berlin's Kater Blau club for some time now and just recently delivered an EP on the club's in-house imprint Kiosk ID as well as an EP for his own metanoia.
Italian rooted but Germany-based Luca Musto returns to the Magic Movement here following his 2018 'Parabel' EP and has since gone on to release further material with Cologne's Feines Tier and Laut & Luise in recent years.
Here joining forces with the 'Remind Me Tomorrow' EP the two artists deliver more of their distinctive tripped-out, dropped tempo club sound.
'Broken Promises' leads the way via dreamy dubbed out textures, gnarly bass tones, twinkling chimes and airy arpeggios atop a bumpy drum groove.
Title cut 'Remind Me Tomorrow' follows and brings modulating resonant synth lines into the forefront alongside elongated subs, cinematic pads, and circling sequences while Luca also stirs in his own rap/spoken word hip house style vocals.
The third original 'Concept Zero' follows next and lays down psychedelic guitars, choppy stabs, murky bass swells and dynamic delays before Noema rounds out the release with his take on 'Remind Me Tomorrow', flipping the switch to raw, crunchy drums and spoken word vocal chants amongst the original's chuggy arps and dreamy melodic elements.

The Magic Movement is happy to welcome Swedish artist Anton Kling with a full EP on their label.
After his mesmerizing single "You", which he contributed to a Various Artist release last spring, he's finally back in full force with his Phobos EP.
The EP contains atmospheric originals, full of warm and almost jazzy synth work, syncopated rhythms and haunting vocal snippets. There's a beautifully melancholic red line which flows through the EP. On his first release on The Magic Movement, the emerging electronic musician from Istanbul imagines a three-track story: The mythical figures - Hermes and Hezarfen - are in search of a unified space named Hora above variant timelines.

On his first release on The Magic Movement, the emerging electronic musician from Istanbul imagines a three-track story: The mythical figures - Hermes and Hezarfen - are in search of a unified space named Hora above variant timelines.
Under the arabesque shadow of occidental chords and oriental strings, the EPs multi-layered tracks take you on a cosmic flight: Folkloric dance elements build up progressively over a driving rhythm while Suha's ethereal vocals flow alongside old chants. Massive brass and gritty 70's synths accompany ancestral lyrics that herald of unknown realities soon to be realised.

Just in time for summer, Pampa issued Aimlessness, the long-awaited new album from Dntel AKA Los Angeles producer Jimmy Tamborello. His latest electronic suite brought forth stronger leanings toward house grooves, building upon the pop and IDM approaches he explored earlier in his career as half of the Postal Service and a member of Figurine - with a healthy dose of Pampa otherworldliness on top. Now, Robag Wruhme steps in and recontextualizes two Aimlessness cuts for a remix EP. Wruhme is already a beloved member of DJ Koze's extended family, having released the full-length Thora Vukk about one year ago, which was deemed "another success for both him and Pampa" in Resident Advisor's four-star review. First up is Robag's "Kloff Mottüré" mix of "Bright Night", a starry-eyed transformation of Dntel's work that twinkles like fireflies in the clear midnight sky. With symphonic splashes, playful pitter-patters and a tranquil breakdown, it sounds a bit like teenage toads skinny-dipping amongst the lilypads. Next up, Robag finds inspiration in Dntel's "Jitters", not once but twice: The "Marf Labo" mix takes the title quite literally, offering a jittery breakbeat interpretation with a metallic angel chorus swirling over the haphazard beats. Finally, on the flip side, the "Emmens Worsch" mix brings things more closely aligned with the grooving, heartfelt house thump that Pampa has engendered. It's the EP's most DJ-friendly cut, while at the same time showing off Robag's gentle production touches and letting Tamborello's sweet, subdued voice shine through.

Built on a bed of liquid grooves and subtle atmospheres, the track conjures the spirit of Frederick Galliano and St Germain, weaving acoustic and electronic textures into a sophisticated whole. Catz ‘n Dogz make a standout debut on Crosstown Rebels with two compelling new house tracks on ‘Can’t Stand’, complete with a remix from leftfield innovator Robag Wruhme. A pairing whose renowned reputation has been built and shaped across an illustrious career, Polish duo Grzegorz Demiañczuk and Wojciech Tarañczuk, aka Catz’ n Dogz, have been serving up their own diverse and varied take on house for more than fifteen years. Founders of their own Pets Recordings imprint, in that time they have released on esteemed labels, from Diynamic to Defected, Glitterbox to Watergate and more, while playing at almost every major club and festival across the globe. Their fresh in-between sounds and knack for cooking up curious and impactful sounds have made them mainstays of the scene, and that run of stellar releases continues here with a debut appearance on Crosstown Rebels as they link with ZenSoFly for ‘Can’t Stand’ - with longstanding German favourite Robag Wruhme on remix duties. Opener ‘Can’t Stand’ sees the pair reunite with vocalist ZenSoFly, a talent they’ve worked with on notable hits like ‘Wave.’ Her vocals bring soul and attitude over a tight, rubbery and sleazy house beat, underpinned with a heavy bassline - providing the sort of chunky cut to lock in a dancefloor and make it march in unison. Robag Wruhme has been a Pampa label mainstay and famously curveball producer for many years with his scintillating blend of minimalism, melody and unusual sound sources. That is the case again with this remix, a dark workout that hurries along on snappy drums, detuned vocals and scuzzed up, droning synths to ensure maximum impact. The EP is closed out with ‘Wake Up’, a widescreen and atmospheric cut packed with detail. The bassline is taught, freaky vocals echo within the mix, and synths spray about to dramatic effect, delivering another full flavour house cut with a dark soul and futuristic designs.

Coming in hot on Berlin's Toy Tonics label: a new EP by the talented duo ALMA NEGRA!
Founded in 2013, Alma Negra is a Swiss collective centered around the brother duo Dersu and Diego Figueira, whose diverse roots in Switzerland and Cape Verde inform their sound. The project was launched with the ambitious vision to explore the world's diverse rhythms and drive musical innovation by mixing different styles. Their work is anchored in a process of digging and sampling, skillfully blending traditional sounds-from Fela Kuti-influenced Nigerian afrobeat and Angolan Lamento to Caribbean Zouk and the Maloya sound of Réunion-into a contemporary dance music context.
The Figueira brothers' eclectic DJ sets embody this ethos, peppering disco and house with salsa, samba, jazz, and Afro-Caribbean carnival rhythms, all under their guiding motto: "As long as it's Funky."
Since 2014, Alma Negra has made an important contribution to intercultural exchange in their hometown of Basel. Their international presence began in 2015 with their first shows abroad in countries like France, the Netherlands, and Portugal. From 2016 to 2019, their reach expanded significantly, with performances in major hubs like London, Paris, and Berlin, as well as Istanbul, Tel Aviv, and Tunisia. Highlights from this period include sets at the Montreux Jazz Festival, Dimensions Croatia, and Fuse Club in Brussels. Their standing is further cemented by releases on respected labels like Heist Recordings, Sofrito, and Basic Fingers, alongside remixes from an elite group of peers, including Soulphiction, Kuniyuki, and Yuksek.
Parallel to their studio and DJ work, the project expanded into the Alma Negra Live Band, formed with jazz musicians from Basel. While the band is currently on hiatus, this collaboration made live instrumentation increasingly central to their productions, creating a dynamic they feel is essential for any dancefloor. The live band has performed in cities like London and Hamburg and has led to collaborations with artists such as French singer Pat Kalla and jazz trumpeter Bodo Maier.
