Subb-an continues to adapt and develop his One Records label with another EP from long-time collaborators Yamen & EDA.
As per usual - the duo's productions rounds up One Records signature sound perfectly: neatly reduced, modern minimal that doesn't shout too loudly for attention but is highly effective on the dance floor.
The 'Joe Kerr' EP is brimming with active, bouncing bass lines, darting stabs and pacy drums. Also included is a remix from the label head himself who sticks a new engine in 'Infinite Diversity' giving it a more potent, gritty drive. Man on fire Youandewan also weighs in with his take on Joe Kerr which interweaves tight stabs and drums with effortless flair - a sound that he's become renowned for and one that does the job on the floor without fail. After featuring on the One Records VA released earlier this year with ‘Besides’, young Frenchmen Yamen & EDA are back on board the label with ‘Planet Brooklyn’. The release features two seductively deep solid club tracks with one special remix coming from dream team Shaun Reeves, Jay Haze and Bill Patrick and another from label head Subb-an. Always on the hunt to recruit and push new talent, Subb-an and Adam Shelton have been quick to snap up Yamen & EDA to be part of the One Records crew, who will also be making their debut at Adam and Subb-an’s famous Below party in Birmingham later this year. While only in the first stages of their career there is no doubt this talented duo are on their way to stardom with previous releases on Safari Numerique, Earlydub and their own Unpleased Records with more on the way. Shaun Reeves is no stranger to the label after his remix of Subb-an’s ‘Soul Skool’ appeared on one of the first releases. Combining forces for the first time, Shaun Reeves, Jay Haze and Bill Patrick remix ‘Planet Brooklyn’. Three of the biggest names in the business, One Records are proud to have them on board for this rare collaboration.Subb-an has really shot into the limelight in the last few years with huge releases on labels such as Visionquest, Crosstown Rebels and Spectral Sound. Bass Culture is very proud to welcome in the family one of the most talented french producer of his génération : Flabaire !
Between his work as co-owner of Parisian label D.KO Records, playing bass with Secret Value Orchestra, his more recent psych-rock project Aboukir, and his own solo electronic productions as Flabaire, Ralph Maruani has carved his own cosmic melodic universe. Now at the age of 30, three albums already released and a number of EPs, appearances and remixes, Flabaire appeared already throughout France, and across borders (Tresor, Hoppetosse, Pratersauna, …).
His music has been recognised by legendary artists such as Move D or Point G/DJ Gregory as well as many others of his most accomplished peers. He recently released an acclaimed EP on Jimpster’s latest label Cyphon Recordings & just released a new EP on Rawax/Housewax

COEO back on Toy Tonics! The German duo has been part of Toy Tonics since day one. Now they celebrate their return to Toy Tonics with an outstanding EP full of timeless, contemporary house music that also marks their 10th contribution to the label after their first release on the imprint 10 years ago. Their house vibes have been defining the sound of the Toy Tonics label for many years and still now they regularly play the Toy Tonics events around the world. (The Toy Tonics Jams).
On this new EP one more time the boys dive deep into the Italo & Piano House world- getting more electronic than ever. This EP is 100% in the vibe of now. With great piano chord drops that make everybody scream on the dance floor, with horn and synth melodies that you can sing along after you heard them one time only and with classic house beats that are THE sound of today.
The main title “Nostalgia” is inspired by and a tribute to all the intimate and ecstatic moments they were able to share over the years with music lovers on festivals and in clubs around the world. While the piano house theme on the A1 brings you in that festive mood of your last summer festival you have been to with your closest friends, the second track of the EP „Breeze“ takes it on a higher energetic level and combines a funky bass guitar with progressive house elements. Remember that special moment when you were attending your first full moon party in that far away country after you have finished school? That gentle wind blowing through the trees? „Breeze“ could be the soundtrack of that adventure.
On the B side Italo house influenced „Meet me at the cascades“ captivates through an hypnotic approach and unfolds dreamy synth pads and arpeggios to take you on a imaginary journey to your favourite retreat, a place you feel safe.
The EP features 3 original tracks and also a remix by COEO friends Stump Valley. The former Dekmantel artists who now joined Toy Tonics. Stump Valley btw are Francesco and Aleksei. Aleksei also works under the name of Brian de Palma and will release a solo album soon on Peggy Gou’s label Gudu. Stump Valley‘s remix of „Nostalgia“ rounds up the EP with its stand out piano solo and marks the perfect end to an EP that is meant to stay in your head just like all those intense memories which life in general evokes.
