Huerta inaugurates his new R&R imprint with TV Slang LP. Existing in a world away from the club, Huerta picks up where his debut album Junipero left off. Intended primarily as an immersive home-listening experience, TV Slang explores rhythmic moods and ambient soundscapes: combining traces of deep house, downtempo, and a suggestion of breakbeat flavors. Partially recorded back in 2019 and subsequently completed in 2022, TV Slang is the first release on R&R, a sub-label of Leizure focused on exploring more nuanced and eclectic sounds outside the rigid framework of dance music.

Our second offering for 2017 is by another longtime friend whom we now can also call a part of the humble LPH Records team, Huerta, né Steve Huerta. Four brisk, boisterous house cuts here, all built around buttery bass lines and cocooned in warm, airy, groovy synth melodies. Perfect for early morning serenades, foggy backrooms, basements with red lights. Music that keeps your feet firmly planted while sending your head into the heavens.

180g Vinyl! Vital Sales Points: - - Huerta’s fourth record for Amadeus - Collab record with UK born Youandewan
- EP ahead of Youandewan’s debut album on K7
Tracklist
A1. Huerta - Mandala , A2. Huerta - Eistee
B1. Huerta - Apache Line (with Youandewan) , B2. Youandewan - Yo Endlos
Shortinfo:
! Amadeus sees itself yet again graced by the California-gone-Berlin coastal confidant, Stephen Huerta. Preparing his fourth record for the imprint, Huerta sets a mood of what is to be his best record to date. Bringing along fellow expatriate and Berlin-based producer Youandewan (of Secret Sundaze and Aus Music fame) along with him. Aside and forefront club-track, “Mandala,” carries itself through chugging shakers and pad-work, held tightly in place by the squelchy, off-kilter lead. The tune never quite sits still, bubbling about by each percolating percussive layer. Backed by what was jokingly coined the “California Garage Track,” “Eistee” is at best the chiller-fitting you would want. Jacking percussion and complimenting drum
programming give this track It’s toughness. The Bside houses the first collaboration from the two. With the intro’s minimally-structured progression, “Apache Line,” only reaches its incline after the minute mark. Spring delayed and filtered heavily, the track’s wonky lead bleeds through as if to enrapture you in its thermal clutch. Wrapping up the record we’ve asking Youandewan to add the floor-readied “Yo Endlos.” The track is definitively what you would want as a closer; simplicity in its step but tightness throughout its progression. The word “resistance” is deeply embedded in the ethos of techno. For her debut release on the Tresor Records, the British artist and Tresor resident, IMOGEN, explores the concept of resilience; a related and equally vital concept.Taking its name from a theological term meaning a fundamental change of mind or spiritual conversion, Metanoia is fuelled by IMOGEN’s processing of what she describes as one of the most challenging years of her life.Any struggle against injustice or misfortune takes time and effort which requires finding a fortitude within, not only to surpass the hardship itself but to not lose ourselves to despair or bitterness in the process.IMOGEN’s journey is summed up in the lead track, The Way She Moves-resilience is, after all, a persistence to continue, to move forward. The struggle against hardship is laid out in track titles like Tired Bonesand Growing in the Darkbefore a sense of catharsis is reached in Breathe Againand Melancholy Flower. The music similarly mirror her experiences, passing through sadness, anger, before ultimately landing at acceptance and a newfound drive for self-actualisation and greater interoception; after all, the end goal of any resistance is liberation. Writing about techno is quite difficult without falling into cliché: there are only so many ways that you can say
something about a music whose core elements are forged on deliberate repetition; where real talent is attributed
to those who can find the perfect groove where nothing needs added or subtracted to hold the listener’s attention for upwards of five minutes.
Such tracks are the hallmark of Tresor’s catalogue, and this joy in repetition can be found in works from Detroit,
Berlin, Birmingham, Edinburgh, and more. And it is through this lens that Parisian artist, UFO95, focuses his
output, resulting in Backward Improvement, an EP that sits perfectly in the spectrum of techno found in the
Tresor chronology.
The title itself makes an abstract reference to the influence of the classics of the genre, inspiring him to take a
distinct less-is-more approach to production for this collection of stripped-down yet unrelenting techno chiselled
from the live set which has fixed UFO95 as one of the next holdfasts for the future of the scene.
Perhaps it is the fact the UFO95 only performs live that had led to such crisp and focussed studio productions.;
each of the tracks showcase the artist’s burgeoning talent for creating the essential foundations of techno;
perfect, looping, instinctual grooves that are counterbalanced by an apprehensive tension from off-key tones.
Backward Improvement marks the addition of a new name in the list of techno’s best producers and proves that
while the genre may now be in its 40th year there are yet sonic explorations to be made and variations that are
worth unearthing. More

Black Disco - Kids In The Dark
With a Yamaha organ and a dream, South African artist Pops Mohamed started his musical journey in the mid-1970s as the bandleader and composer of Black Disco, creating a hip melange of chill-out jazz with futuristic drum machine sounds and spiritual overtones. His cosmic organ transmissions were accompanied by two of the most sought-after session players on the South African scene, the sax and flute wizard Basil Coetzee, who had risen to fame in 1974 as one of the soloists on the hit "Mannenberg," and Sipho Gumede, the young bass prodigy who was already rubbing shoulders with the old guard at the outset of his career. Backed at first with polyphonic beats from Mohamed's electric organ and later taking on a drummer, Black Disco created a signature sound and a trilogy of innovative albums in a burst of studio creativity between 1975 and 1976. This is the first full reissue of their 3rd album, from the original masters. Limited Edition

All killer, no filler type biz as Naarm hardware donny Furious Frank makes his Oyster Cult return.
Strictly dancefloor wreckers from beginning to end. Girder-strength rhythm and driving, direct torque on the menu as Frank opts in favour of club-ready ordnance. Those with a taste for the rough n’ ready have never been in safer hands.
He’s bringing the heft like it's going out of style while keeping true to sci-fi and hallucinatory tendencies. Future-proofed forays into acid and trance backed with some of the toughest breakneck groove you’re likely to hear this summer. Darting synths, flourishes of 303; all the good stuff.
Dealing damage from the controls of his drum machine, urgent basslines and lacerating percussion are primed for maximum impact. Quintessentially Furious." More

COEO back on Toy Tonics! The German duo has been part of Toy Tonics since day one. Now they celebrate their return to Toy Tonics with an outstanding EP full of timeless, contemporary house music that also marks their 10th contribution to the label after their first release on the imprint 10 years ago. Their house vibes have been defining the sound of the Toy Tonics label for many years and still now they regularly play the Toy Tonics events around the world. (The Toy Tonics Jams).
On this new EP one more time the boys dive deep into the Italo & Piano House world- getting more electronic than ever. This EP is 100% in the vibe of now. With great piano chord drops that make everybody scream on the dance floor, with horn and synth melodies that you can sing along after you heard them one time only and with classic house beats that are THE sound of today.
The main title “Nostalgia” is inspired by and a tribute to all the intimate and ecstatic moments they were able to share over the years with music lovers on festivals and in clubs around the world. While the piano house theme on the A1 brings you in that festive mood of your last summer festival you have been to with your closest friends, the second track of the EP „Breeze“ takes it on a higher energetic level and combines a funky bass guitar with progressive house elements. Remember that special moment when you were attending your first full moon party in that far away country after you have finished school? That gentle wind blowing through the trees? „Breeze“ could be the soundtrack of that adventure.
On the B side Italo house influenced „Meet me at the cascades“ captivates through an hypnotic approach and unfolds dreamy synth pads and arpeggios to take you on a imaginary journey to your favourite retreat, a place you feel safe.
The EP features 3 original tracks and also a remix by COEO friends Stump Valley. The former Dekmantel artists who now joined Toy Tonics. Stump Valley btw are Francesco and Aleksei. Aleksei also works under the name of Brian de Palma and will release a solo album soon on Peggy Gou’s label Gudu. Stump Valley‘s remix of „Nostalgia“ rounds up the EP with its stand out piano solo and marks the perfect end to an EP that is meant to stay in your head just like all those intense memories which life in general evokes.

Dam Swindle - Forever and Ever
Format : Vinyl 12” (180 gr., Limited Full Cover)
Track list:
A1 Touch Me Again
A2 Hang On
B1 The Joy of Melancholy
B2 Forever and Ever
Release Info:
Dam Swindle return to Heist in excellent form with a 4-track EP in their signature style.
The iconic Amsterdam duo returned to the studio after their much-lauded ‘Minor Fools’ EP, where the lead track ‘That’s Right’ became one of the most heartwarming tracks 2023. Their recent contribution to the Phonica 20-year compilation -‘Allright (just a tribute)’- is turning into one of the biggest hits of this year with big plays on pretty much every festival around, whether it’s Glastonbury or Dekmantel. The guys are known for their ability to bend different styles into something very much their own and their newest addition to the Heist catalog is no different. The ‘Touch Me Again’ EP sees them go from sample-heavy house to classic 90’s piano-driven tracks with a touch of acid and it’s one you don’t want to miss.
The record starts with ‘Touch Me Again’, a house jam with chopped vocals, energetic synth stabs and a big breakdown. Add to that a touch of acid and you’ve got a follow-up to their Phonica hit of 2023.
‘Hang On’ takes you back into classic Swindle territory, with their signature sampling style and knack for finding those lush vocals. The synth chops and bassline give the track its upbeat energy and the distant filtered pads move in an ever so subtle way, that there’s always something new happening while keeping the attention on that catchy main hook.
On the flip, we see the guys take things a bit deeper with emotive vocals and introverted keys layered over a steady groove on their track ‘The Joy of Melancholy’. Fast-forward to the drop and all that energy comes free with a huge piano break, which propels the track into a blissful ‘hands-in-the-air’ dancefloor moment.
The EP closes with ‘Forever and Ever’, a gospel-inspired Deep house tune full of organ hits and off-kilter sample chops. This 4-track EP gives you jam upon jam upon jam and sees Dam Swindle solidify their position as the go-to artist in the house scene and keeps them at the forefront of electronic music.

Volume 4 of the Make Up series is another doozy and this one brings together accomplished house heads Camille, Chez Damier, and Nico Lahs in a celebration of underground disco classic "through the lens of 60's and 70's underground comix." Similar to these rebellious reads, the tracks on this release carved their niche with purists seeking distinct and thrilling sounds. Across the double album, Camille's contributions include Mystic Pleasure's 'Back Door (Getting Down)' and Cold Fire's 'Badder Than Bad' which both bring soulful melodies and infectious rhythms, Chez Damier adds Fascination's 'Shine My Love' and Bileo's 'You Can Win' with shimmering vocals and funky basslines and together, they make for an exhilarating mix of disco brilliance.

Juan Mendez aka Silent Servant is a figure in techno history that needs little introduction. As a member of the Sandwell District collective and the label’s art director he collaborated on works that were responsible for a global focal shift in the genre as their label adapted and challenged the paradigm of minimal techno, taking influence from other sources such as dub, post-punk, and even classical minimalism.
But Mendez’s relationship with music goes back much further than these seminal releases. With In Memoriam, Silent Servant’s latest release on Tresor Records, Mendez writes a deeply personal memoir of a 30-plus year career spent exploring and absorbing the shadowy side of music; a carefully crafted elegy to people, places, and times past and the lasting effect they have on the present.
Across the four tracks, Mendez pays tribute to the earliest Detroit techno and electro, the Belgian EBM movement and the wave music that followed, the monumental dub techno sound from Berlin, and the harder, abrasive sound of the UK at the turn of the last millennium; exploring and referencing the genres that informed his later work. Each track name gives a hint to the timeframe he is revisiting and re-contextualising as the E.P. repurposes the styles that exerted an influence on him.
This E.P. represents a pure distillation of Mendez’s memories whilst also cementing his place in the current and future sound of 21st century techno; aware of where we came from but focused on where we are heading. More
