Nous'klaer Audio introduces Maask with four sculptural works of sound: layers upon layers, each carrying a sense of life moving through every frequency. Built from field recordings gathered in remote corners of the world and transformed into powerful tracks for the dancefloor. Across these tracks you can hear a storm moving the branches of an oak in Powys, reeds photosynthesising beneath a lake in Rajasthan, highland moss, thunder above Kumasi and wind moving through a neolithic burial chamber on an island off Cornwall. As delicate as these unprocessed sounds are, as powerful are the synergies in their final forms.

Oddball indie-pop band Meetsysteem returns this spring with their long-awaited third studio album; their most beautiful one yet. What began as a search for a simple solo-record, a warm sound and a feeling reminiscent of their debut release, Geen Signaal, evolved into something far greater. In an attempt to rediscover that feeling, the writing began in the same spaces in Thailand where Geen Signaal was produced. It was there, on the other side of the globe, where a familiar face would become the source of inspiration. The Moon, floating in the vast endlessness of space was the guiding artistic force. Reconnecting Meetsysteem with their remarkable lyrical poetry, ambiguous messages combined with a subtle hidden darkness. Meetsystem regained their rare ability to create a vacuum to float in, just like the moon looming above us. The journey ignited a curiosity to question what forces act upon us keeping us in place and what is really on the other side? Along the way answers were found together with the people who crossed paths with Meetsysteem; like-minded artists who were simultaneously grappling with the same questions. Through their collective reflections this "would be" solo record turned into a powerhouse of musical collaboration. With poetry by Pelumi Adejumo, existential outcries by punk-activist Sophie Straat, metaphysical lyrics by Lewsberg's Arie van Vliet, weighted vocals by Ranie Ribeiro and Nana Adjoa, a meeting with Giant Julie and a wealth of extra hidden features, from voice memos to trumpet solos: the album became a collage of life--making it the freest, darkest, and most complete Meetsysteem album to date.

This riotous, psychedelic Latin funk anthem, taken from Martín Buscaglia's 2006 classic album "El evangelio según mi jardinero", sees its very much requested first time on a 7". To celebrate this, and thinking about the AA side, we decided to ask Bosq for a remix.

When we approached him, he said "This track is wild, I love it!" and he started to make his thing. When he finished it, he told us, "I resisted the temptation to bump it up closer to 120 bpm – the world needs more midtempo dancefloor treats!". We couldn't agree more on the midtempo bit, but especially we couldn't be more chuffed with the remix. Bosq has added his magic and a tad of cumbia feel as well and the result is way more than a treat, it's an everyone-smiling-on-the-dancefloor kind of track.

First released over 30 years ago, this EP, as with Volume 1, is where The Future Sound Of London started before "Papua New Guinea" later in 1991. All four tracks were instrumental in establishing a new genre of electronica within dance music. They were ahead of their time and extremely progressive, and here three decades later they are making an impression. "Stolen Beats" is a hypnotic roller with all the jazz, bleeps and bass you could want, still a regular Radio 1 'Essential Mix' track, and "I've Become What You Were" pure hard hitting UK techno from the heyday of this music in the early 90s and the blueprint for the deep jungle sound to emerge later.

This edition of The Pulse EP is the first reissue in its original vinyl form since 1991, those initial pressings now expensive on Discogs.

UFC presents Cybernetic Implant, its seventh release, an EP where electro and cyberpunk go hand in hand with hardware equipment for a trip to an unpromising future. “Ti Ho Sposato Per Allegria” (1967) is a comedy directed by Luciano Salce, taken from the theatrical play of the same name (1965) by Natalia Ginzburg. The main characters are Pietro and Giuliana, respectively interpreted by Giorgio Albertazzi and Monica Vitti. A lawyer from a good family, serious, accustomed to a calm and regular life who got married to a indolent and dazed girl with a difficult past a month after meeting her at a party. Despite Giuliana's inability to transform herself into a good housewife, his relationship with Pietro continues to flourish, because he seems to find enjoyment in each of his wife's many mistakes. The reason for their union lies not in love but, perhaps, in a genuine sympathy, as strong as it is mutual. The story has become a minor classic with each new representation. On both stage and screen the themes of everyday life, and the more complex and existential ones, are addressed. The subtle irony of the work relies on recounting problematic events in a carefree tone: realities such as abortion, death, separation and the couple's incommunicability are underplayed with naturalness. The funny events of the film are commented on by Piero Piccioni's music, published for the first time on vinyl by Musica Per Immagini, with an harmonious tracklist. For this first orchestra rehearsal with the director, which will be followed by other important soundtracks, the composer makes an effective and elegant synthesis: on the one hand he reworks moods and aesthetic intuitions of some previous and happy experiences, while on the other he identifies and anticipates the first bars of that unmistakable sound between bossa nova, funk and lounge nuances that will characterize almost all the production of the Seventies. In fact, the Turin-native artist simplifies in a positive sense the articulated harmonic structures that have always distinguished his authorial figure – where the so called jazz features are to be considered more than central in the musical texture, as prominent elements of the harmonic syntax – and he tries a melodic reduction that will make the compositions more catchy or memorized, but not easier for this.
