Berlin based producer Estella Boersma announced themselves with a debut on Unknown to the Unknown's Dance Trax imprint and a string of appearances in the infamous HOR bathroom have followed - including one at Crave Festival - generating a positive stream count thanks to their varied DJing style; floating between techno, bass, breaks, electro and old school rave. Now capping a huge breakout 2022, Estella serves up four assorted club cuts that perfectly exemplify the energy felt frontleft at one of their sets.

'The Wave' is the most quintessential Estella track on the release - brimming with acid, breakbeats and warehouse rave energy, channelling older XL Recordings-inspired sounds and modern-punk electronic aesthetics. 'Dial' is frantic, strippedback and raw - an angelic, colourful techno trip through pixelated palm trees and psychedelic sunrises.

'Transfer' drains the colour from its fabric as light turns to dark. Headsy, underground appeal blends with bouncy fun on a cut of wobbly 4x4 that sounds like something you might hear in a Chloe Robinson set, before high pitched-vocals and sped-up synths dazzle and delight with something that sits between techno, footwork and classic Chicago house.

Glitch in the Colors” is the debut full-length vinyl release by Useless Idea, aka Italian artist and producer, Cesare Bignotti. Useless Idea debuted on Suction Records in 2021, with a limited-to-300 12-inch sampler (alongside Bignotti’s alter-ego Seven Nights Alone), which Bleep.com named as their “EP of the Week” upon release, writing “Useless Idea’s widescreen array of hazy synthesized atmospheres, intricate samples and processed recordings … conjure thoughts of a fictional past in another dimension.”

With previous under-the-radar cassette album releases on WéMè Records (2018’s “Acid Hologram”) and EVES Music (2020’s “Xa Peh”), Useless Idea has been quietly recording his own brand of inventive, playful, and melodic IDM/braindance for more than 20 years. We’ve been slowly compiling Glitch in the Colors for several years now, and the result is a varied, yet cohesive, collection of instrumental electronic beat-scapes recorded over the span of 13 years, with influences ranging from the classic braindance sound of Aphex Twin and Cylob, to the hazy hip-hop electronica of Boards Of Canada, but with a depth of programming and sound design that is all his own. From the melancholy, orchestral hip hop of the title track, to the videogame symphonics of “Yster Know”, to the delicate piano-house reductionism of “Moon Dog”, the scope and variety found on Glitch in the Colors is a revelation.

2x12” vinyl LP is limited to 500 copies, with 100 copies on pink-vinyl, and adorned with the artist’s own original artwork (Bignotti is an accomplished, and highly sought-after, visual artist). Comes with a Bandcamp download card. More

Groundbreaking release from the early 80's produced with rather primitive synthesizers with as result "A Dog in the Night" a track with a thick sound, unusual for its time. Credited as "the sound of the future" in those days and sounding reevant today. The piece produced by Stefano Zito and arranged by Stefano Galante is after 40 years among the favorites of collectors and followers of Italo-Disco, being noted among the songs to be re-edited by Danilo Braca, the New York based Italian Dj known for his creativity! He manages to create wonderful reconstructions, often considered "works of art". Such as the version he remixed and revisited, with the strings played and recorded by Layer Bows, but above all with the additional lyrics written and performed by the superlative SuperJaimie (aka Charlotte Balibar); with her voice she gives a completely different air to this Italo-Disco jewel, now worthy of being brought to the attention of the new generations. Nuron continues his journey on De:tuned with another selection of unearthed DAT tape gems! Nurmad Jusat aka Nuron / Fugue moved to the UK in the mid 80s. Soon after he went to his first warehouse party. A real eye-opening experience that inspired Nurmad to produce his own music. The first wave of early house and techno records from Chicago and Detroit influenced an entire generation. Nuron became one of the originators of the UK emotive techno sound with his unique and distinctive style. Fast forward a couple of years to when this compilation of archived DAT tape material was recorded. In the late 90s Nurmad was living back in Malaysia. House music was just starting to be played in the underground clubs over there. It was a great time and the vibe was very much like when Nuron went to raves in the UK in 1989-1990. House music all night long!

New hard hitting 45 by infamous cinematic fantasy funk supergroup Pigalle Connection. Produced by Paris' own keyboard wizard Guillaume Métenier and Mocambo's Björn Wagner, heavy clavinet and breakbeat drums lead the imaginary chase soundtrack "Flics Sur Le Péripherique" through massive horn attacks, mysterious string themes and ethereal synth lines, evoking plenty colourful scenes over a relentless beat. A slice of funk that is equally suited for the breakin' floor as it is for b-movie dreams. The flip side "Transit" contrast the a-side's frantic action with an almost dubby downtempo crime jazz groove full of suspended tension and cold chilled anticpation.
