4 years into The Trip's music production journey, they release their fifth EP 'Uncovered' on their in-house label Tessellate. Taking inspiration from 90's and 00's house music, each track radiates nostalgia. 'Love Struck' offers the perfect mash up; an iconic hook, ravey vocals and the ultimate bouncy, house energy. 'I Need (Speed)', is the funky, speed garage tune reminiscent of your favourite summer festival classics. Side B brings you 'Trip Life Xtra', an instantly recognizable banger, followed by feel-good 'Foxy Dave'. More

Off the back of their three releases in 2023, The Trip present their first remix EP. Inviting some of their favourite artists including Spray, Aldonna, Liquid Earth and Adam Collins, each have taken it in turn to remix a track from their back catalog on Tessellate. Got all bases covered here, a bit of tribal, bit of more techy stuff, some prog and some acid thrown in for good measure. More

The Trip's "Perfect Moderation" EP on Tessellate is a release that blends elements of 90s house, UK prog, and to great effect. The Trip's unique sound and style will appeal to the dancefloor heads. Perfect Modulation features four tracks that showcase their lush warm production. "A Bit Spooky," sets the tone with its 909 groove and cut vocal work. "For The Record" follows with its driving beat and classic melodic lines, while "Fantazia" channels a slightly dreamy vibe that pulls you into a different headpsace. Closing the EP "Boom Operator," a track with industrial grade dancability. More

Tessellate's next addition of their Teamwork VA series has arrived! For volume four they have got Aiden Francis, Duowe & Picasso, Harry Oscillate and Toke in for the ride. Four carefully selected bangers covering various different moods - they've got all your bases covered. More

For TESS013 Tessellate have looked to BODJ to supply the goods. The Greek born artist has had excellent previous releases on labels such as Ewax, O.G.E, & Memoria and Visionquest and this one also does not dissapoint. The EP features three originals plus a remix from Slow Life affiliate Paolo Mosca. More

For the second edition of Tessellate's VA series Teamwork, they have looked to Peru's SINM and Lithuania's S II P for a fast-paced breaks focused release. These are all tracks aimed at the dancefloor with SINM taking over the A side and S II P looking after the B side. More

Next in line on Tessellate is London's Kylin Tyce. His previous releases on iO Mulen's OLDiViBES and Amsterdam based PIV records have gained him support from the likes of Seth Troxler, Butch, Mood II Swing and Chris Stussy.

The title track starts things off, a 2-step bumper which has a nice little switch up half way through. Further South takes things down more of a House route while still maintaining some garage flavours - a little reese bass, skippy percussion and horns etc. On the flip we have Thinkin' which is a straight up UKG banger. Finally Perception rounds things off taking the OG in a completely different direction by breaking the beats up and adding some atmosophiric pads - nice! More

It's number six for Tessellate and this time they're shining the spotlight on France's Xavier Dusclaux AKA Armless Kid. After a number impressive outings on the likes of Rekids, Let's Play House and Traxx Underground, Xavier turns to the London based label with three original tracks plus a remix of the A1.

The title track, Drop Down (Club Edit), eases in with broken beats and a gentle bassline before eventually building into a euphoric, 5am acid banger. Opal Sunn, who are regulars on Nick Höppner's Touch From A Distance, have dialled up the 303 from the orignal to give it a whole different energy. Flip the record over and we have two tracks aimed straight at the club. Category, which features MJOG (Daydream/Recordeep), combines shuffling percussion over wiggling basslines. The final track mixes shivvering pads, punchy organs and skippy drums over a wonky sub. It's called Les Bo Jours (Wonky Funky) More

Firmin is a resident at our parties and this is his second EP for us. It's a new alias of his focusing on more progressive club tracks. Carlo who did the remix for us runs Neovinyl records and is a resident at IPSE in Berlin. More

Tessellate is a South London party that has been running for the last four years predominantly at Corsica Studios in Elephant and Castle. The label is a natural progression of their events, featuring artists and friends they have booked and met over the years. The debut release comes from a new alias of a regular guest to their nights. Firmin crafts two tracks for the club - La Selva for the sunrise and Energetic Solution for the peak time. Brassica (Feel My Bicep) and Tel Aviv’s Moscoman both deliver with two different takes of La Selva on the B-side.

(comes with a poster) The Klein blue horizon, gliding seagulls, a ferry purring between two languid islands, dotted with ultra-white villages and ancient ruins... These idyllic visions run through Glika, the ultimate musical project of Les Cyclades. An exciting electronic odyssey from West to East, from Belgian effervescence to Greek mysticism.
In 2020, confined to the neighborhoods of Yser and Mystère in Brussels, Alex and Ludo dream of Greek islands, of scorching sun on their skin, of salty baths, chilled ouzo and braised octopus. But everywhere, time stands still. Must one necessarily move to travel? To levitate? In the absence of Elsewhere, the Franco-Canadian duo will compose the imaginary soundtrack to their escape.
Glika (which means "sweet" in Greek) perfectly synthesizes the musical influences of Les Cyclades: a cosmic saxophone inherited from Alex’s dub and free jazz past, an architect-pastry chef-botanist from Normandy, and Ludo’s "Balearic" tracks, a musician-performer-wine lover who frequented his first raves in 1995 in Houston, Texas.
From a hedonistic encounter on a friendly terrace in the 19th arrondissement of Paris to their chosen exile in Brussels, these hypersensitive jacks-of-all-trades first danced and mixed records. Before creating their own phantasmagorical sonic territories, where cinema and poetry meet more or less human voices, brass instruments, synthesizers and analogue drum machines.
A searing fragment of Greek filmmaker Theo Angelopoulos's "Eternity and a Day" preludes Glika. Then, on Yser Mystère - the names of the two stations on tram 51 that physically linked Alex and Ludo's psyches during the lockdown - Alex's astral sax balances out the industrial mechanics of a locomotive, against a backdrop of urban soundscapes.
And then a rising bpm dominates Alocasia, with its deep and sensual light foot. So sunny. From one track to another, there are interludes influenced by Xenakis, Vangelis and Jean-Michel Jarre. Seminal heroes of the Cyclades... But soon, the duo unleash hostilities at the helm of Epigone, their meta-techno anthem. "I know", "You know", echoes Alex.
Laughs of friends, "mouth noises," and "bizarre rhythms" still dominate Parc Fou, while DRAM eyes the minimalist techno of Detroit. So dear to Ludo's heart... And what about PAME, that post-modern Greek epic.Or Glossa, a timeless track that finishes with a fascinating - because diffracted - elegance, this multi-sensory journey through Les Cyclades. Let's close our eyes. Silencio! Hay Banda!
