Equally dabbling into DJing/live act or sound art installations (for renowned institutions in Paris and Rome, among others), Ben is also building up a definite career in production that first took off with an EP on Minibar and a remix of Carl Craig's classic Bug In The Bassbin on Planet E. Immersed in contemporary classical music, jazz, techno and various house subgenres, he claims a diversity that's been showcased in all its subsequent interventions on labels such as Eklo or Balance with a collaboration with the legendary Chez Damier. With his music mate Leiris, he will be launching soon a vinyl label called Reduce Records, in order to release their finest music pieces. We’re proud to present the next release on Evasive Records: a heavyweight repress two-tracker uniting label head honcho Rob Pearson with long-time collaborator Robin Ball (Groove Pleasure / Memory Box).

Originally released in 2006 on Robin Ball’s Groove Pleasure imprint (Cat. No. GPL11), ‘Don’t Put Up Wit Dat’ marked the first collaboration between these two respected DJs, producers, and label bosses. With the resurgence of early-2000s tech house and renewed interest in the signature South London sound, original copies of this underground gem have been fetching well over £100 on Discogs. A relentless, driving cut of pure tech house craftsmanship, this one has been in high demand from crate diggers and connoisseurs alike — and now it’s finally back on wax.

‘The Right Vibes’, the duo’s second collaboration, followed in 2008. Produced at Evasive Records' South London HQ, Online Studios, it originally appeared on the EVA021 Various Artists EP. Another standout slice of tech house, this track has remained a staple on Discogs want-lists for years — and for good reason. With a rock-solid groove, peak-time floor power, and a breakdown that still delivers nearly two decades later, it's a natural choice for reissue.

Both tracks have been lovingly mastered by Marco Pellegrino at Analog Cut (Berlin) from the original Online Studios DAT tapes — sounding every bit as fat, if not fatter, than the original vinyl releases.

In 2025 Acid Jazz announced the Spring Revisited project, in collaboration with Ace Records, exploring the musical legacy of the iconic New York label Spring Records, with a series of new mixes and limited edition vinyl releases.

After the rapid sell-out of the first release – 12” mixes of Millie Jackson’s iconic ‘We Got To Hit It Off’ from Dimitri From Paris and Opolopo respectively – they are introducing a special 7” to the series. This release is fronted by Dimitri’s ‘Liberated Woman Edit’ of the track – a vinyl exclusive, dance-floor and flight-ready for DJ sets this summer. It is backed by a special edit of Dave Lee’s inspired disco mix of The Joneses ‘Love Contest’.

Grammy Award winner Louie Vega has the unique ability to spotlight and highlight the most essential elements of classic dance tracks and remix and recreate them to create something just as powerful for today’s audiences. Currently in the midst of putting the finishing touches on his forthcoming album, Expansions In The NYC, Louie took some extra time to gather together the original members of the seminal New York – based disco funk band Unlimited Touch and collaborate with them at Log Cabin Studio in Manhattan and his own Daddy’s Workshop Studio in New Jersey to produce the 2020 edition of “I Hear Music In The Streets.”

Unlimited Touch consists of Audrey Wheeler (lead singer), Phil Hamilton, Tony Cintron, Sandy Anderson (RIP), Stephanie James and Lenny Underwood. “I Hear Music In The Streets” was originally released on legendary imprint Prelude Records in 1981.

Growing up in the Bronx, from an early age Louie had an affinity and love for all the various musical genres that were bubbling up in New York during that era defining creative period. It is that passion that has stayed with him during a career that has brought him Grammy’s, several worldwide hit records, and a status as one of the world’s most sought after DJs. It was especially fulfilling for Louie to work with the original members of Unlimited Touch, He quickly realized that their talents were still as strong as ever as they performed musical and vocal elements from the original song, and that they had the vision to see how the song could be re-energized by having Louie add his unique production elements to this seminal tune.

Louie is in the midst of an especially prolific and productive period. In 2016 he released the Grammy nominated Louie Vega Starring….XXVIII full length album; 2018 saw the release of the widely acclaimed and chart topping NYC Disco 2 X CD and 4 X vinyl album on Nervous Records. Known universally as “The Maestro” due to the standards of excellence he maintains in his productions, DJ Performances and live appearances with his Elements of Life Band, Louie Vega is now ready to unleash another gem to add to one of the music industry’s most remarkable body of work.

Croisière Musique is back with an EP from Gibs, a wild Parisian back in his city after having lived in Bruxelles for some time. With this EP “You dirty little thing”, all sensuality of Gibs’ deep house with a minimal flavor fully flourishes in your ears and envelops you with its warmth.

Rhythms remain stripped down and fitted with bouncy basslines which are strongly dance inductive, while the story tends to be narrated by the rich synths and pads reminding us of classical 80s/90s house sounds. Elaborate harmonies and synths lines cannot hide Gibs’ classical background as well as his taste for a wide range of musical styles. All tracks have several phases and atmospheres, starting anchored in the floor with a second part that introduces new synths, harmonies, modulations – an assembly of short musical moments akin to a sonata.

Losing Control pays homage to the eponymous dbx track, but this time the feeling of anxiety has been replaced by a feeling of sweet decadence, the sensation of entering or exiting an orgy.
SMGS,You dirty little thing and Nuisance all have this Croisière vibe, feeling of floating in the air or the sea, like an endless summer, tainted with a bit of melancholy, while the repetitive swinging drums make us dance continuously, combination making all those tracks trippy yet drivy.
