Gulf Breeze - Something Strange (Muelsa Remix)
Sex Tapes From Mars return with four more scintillating dancefloor-centric beats procured from the outer regions of the galaxy for your listening pleasure.
STFM004 is the amalgamation of two original productions extracted from an evasive 12” by Gulf Breeze presented alongside two reinterpretations courtesy of star strikers of the Paris underground Nemo Vachez & Muelsa. Though each track possesses a distinct flavour, all four are unanimous in providing fuel for the peak time of the party utilising hypnotic percussion, driving basslines and an on the nose vocal commanding the listener to Dance as the record spins.
Originally written in London in 1995, both original mixes of Something Strange retain their potency and with a fresh remaster, sound larger than ever. Both the OG and Mr & Mrs Do The Business mix effortlessly cruise into a state of frenzied euphoria via two unmistakable basslines which leave no raver behind.
The B side first sees Nemo Vachez apply his slick hand to the track, acknowledging its character but making it totally his own. The Alien Garage Mix is a slinky cut of UKG with added extraterrestrial seasoning, chiming into a perfect recipe for an efficacious dancefloor bomb.
On B2 Muelsa provides a genre blurring remix which pays homage to the golden era of house from which the original harks, whilst adding a spin which is entirely of the moment. The staunch, driving percussion leads the track through a dreamy acid trip that pulls you in multiple directions before resolving into a final blissful trance. More

Victorious - Everybody
Yet again digging deep into the forgotten corners of dance music history, Sex Tapes From Mars is back with an essential reissue of 1997’s “Liquid Squid” by Victorious - a long-lost gem from the hazy heyday of mid-90s US house. Originally pressed in small quantities, the EP quickly became a cult favourite among vinyl purists and house music heads, with original copies going for hefty sums on Discogs, and as little as 50 members listing it in their collection. Now, after years of obscurity, “Liquid Squid” returns, bringing unfiltered, raw energy, and bolstered by a killer remix from Canadian duo Boomtang Boys, adding a respectful rework that breathes new life into the original track without overshadowing its original spirit.
Deep, driving, and dripping with analogue warmth, with chunky, rolling basslines that sit under warm, sweeping pads. The productions are stripped-back but loaded with texture, featuring subtly layered percussion that builds with precision, creating a spacious, immersive sound. Throughout the record, what’s consistent is low-swung, rolling rhythms, and rough-and-ready keys. It's dance floor-centric, but there’s a level of emotional depth in this singular to its era, and one you don’t find in contemporary sonic palettes.
Victorious provides a deep stroke into the realm of dubby, atmospheric house, revolving around hypnotic, evolving grooves, with spaced-out chords, lustrous vocals, and key tinkerings, perfect for more introspective sets. It’s a direct nod to the grit of Detroit along with clear remnants of early Chicago house glimmers - dreamy but yet still functional.
Sex Tapes From Mars has always been a label with a nose for the weird, slick, and the rare, and this reissue is no exception, crafting tantalising soundscapes that pull you into its orbit. “Liquid Squid” offers a snapshot of a time when the lines between genres were still fluid - it’s rich, warm, and dripping with sultry swagger - a piece of history that’s been given a second life, ready to work its magic on dance floors once again. Nizar Sarakbi - Red Cross
Bristol-based Sex Tapes From Mars continues its vinyl-only odyssey with the latest transmission from Ukrainian, half-Syrian, Nizar, whose Naked Groove EP fuses minimalist techno with a surreal twist, backed with vintage hardware and delivered with robotic precision. An exercise in controlled chaos, the EP embodies the label’s ethos of pushing boundaries through unconventional sound design, where abstract and wiggy, skipping grooves drive forward.
Across its four tracks, the EP navigates through a warped sonic terrain, stitching together fragmented rhythms and glitch-infused textures with a hypnotic, purposeful pulse. Nizar masterfully dismantles familiar late 80s and 90s techno frameworks, creating space for alien melodies, stuttering beats, and deeply physical low-end. The result is a sound that feels both stripped-down and intricately detailed—dance music at its most unhinged, with a raw edge that demands attention. The track's taut frameworks often build tension without release, offering a disquieting and strange dancefloor experience.
Among the highlights is a standout remix of "Mon Amore" by Hearthug, who twists the original into an even more disorienting version of itself—manipulating rhythm, space, and atmosphere to create something warped yet irresistibly groovy and swooning.
With Naked Groove, Nizar solidifies his status as a purveyor of leftfield techno curiosities, delivering a record that’s equal parts alien and captivating, uniquely exploring the fringes of a plethora of genres, and delivering a body of work that’s as unsettling as it is danceable. More

Victorious - Do It To Me
Elon Dust’s Sex Tapes From Mars imprint gives Victorious’s 90’s “Play Safe EP” new life, with three remastered house emeralds.
"All My Love” stands alone on the A-side, and Victorious has successfully bottled the magic of classic house music, delivering a track that strikes brilliance being both timeless and timely. It's a soulful, uplifting affair, sharing an emotive yet slinky journey through rich, sultry vocals and a vintage melody that breaths deep with warmth, swing and euphoria.
On the flip, “Can You Feel It” is anchored by dubby, shuffling drums that provide a hypnotic groove, and Victors voice yet again delivers a performance that is as enigmatic as it is intoxicating, layering the track with a sensual, almost haunting allure.
A wiggly bassline sets a playful yet driving tone on “Do It To Me”. Spacey synths glide then sweep in, building an atmosphere that is both expansive and intimate, perfectly primed for the after-hours. Each element is carefully placed to serve the groove, making "Do It To Me" a masterclass in restraint. It’s a track designed to move bodies without unnecessary flair, relying on its raw energy and drive to carry the listener. This is house music in its purest, finest and most functional form. More

Monica Venturella - Espionage
Sicily-based, electro-contemporary, Monica Venturella steps up for Sex Tapes From Mars’ seventh outing, serving four acid-bleeding, delirious cuts.
The A1, ‘Talk Dirty 2 Me’ is a masterclass in rhythmic finesse, navigating the delicate balance between the syncopated shuffle of a two-step drum beat and the subterranean swelling of an early 00s reminiscent growling bass. The percussive intricacies propel the listener into a kinetic groove, while the bassline depth anchors the dance floor in an immersive, tactile low-end experience.
‘Don’t Think About It’ forays through bouncy, playful energy underscored by a distinctively corrupt acid line. The meticulous synth lines and off-kilter rhythms twist and turn with gleeful abandon, both twisted and slick.
On the flip, ‘Oh Shie’ displays a deranged, bumpy groove. It’s layers unfold with intricate detail, creating a textured sonic landscape that is masterfully controlled. The analog warmth and unpredictable modulations lend a raw, visceral edge that captivates and disorients in equal measure.
A fitting finale to the record, ‘Espionage’ begins with filmic, detuned vintage synth swells before dropping into nothing less than a seminal standout joyride in greezy waft. Verberating bleeps, clever pitch play and raunchy vocal stabs join the trip while the sonic palette grows in mania. More

Ildec - You High
Embarking on a celestial journey, "The Day And Night" drops on Sex Tapes From Mars, unfolding as a four-track odyssey, each piece serving as a stellar waypoint in the vast universe of groove. Thudding drums, warbling bass, and tingling synth leads - Ildec’s sonic tapestry transcends conventional techno, with a hard focus on the 90s, blurring the lines between the earthly and the extraterrestrial. With each track, he invites listeners to lose themselves in the infinite expanse of deep, titillating sound.
The journey kicks off with "Pesadillas", a haunting exploration of dark, atmospheric textures intertwined with pulsating rhythms, transporting the dancefloor into their subconscious.
"Listo Para El Space" emerges as a guiding light in the night, its hypnotic beats, vintage prodding bassline, and ethereal chords propelling woozy momentum forward into the stratosphere and beyond.
"Dai Fra" follows suit, weaving intricate sonic layers with its relentless disco-esque bassline, and retro synths, evoking a sense of weightlessness.
"You High" on the flip isn't merely a late-night bop; it's a sonic manifesto that celebrates the boundless potential of electronic music past and future, and as a medium for transcendence. Ildec's approach defies categorisation, drawing inspiration from a myriad of influences to create a sound that is both timeless and futuristic.
As Sex Tapes From Mars continues to lead the charge in sonic innovation, their sixth outing stands as a testament to the label's commitment to lesser-heard artistic excellence. Ildec's offering serves to guide listeners to distant galaxies and offers a glimpse into the infinite possibilities of outsider dancefloor moments. More

Jata - Stutter II
Bristol-based imprint Sex Tapes From Mars third release comes via JATA, presenting a reissue of his highly sought after, 1991 dance relic. Presented are three gritty, pulsing exercises in delayed gratification that have all the more impact when they finally hit top gear.
The A1, ‘Stutter I’ manages deep introspection while still holding on to the part of the night that makes your head rush and your heart flutter. It comprises four sublimely sewn, yet prominently different movements, climaxing in beating, bumpy bliss.
On the flip, the sense of strangely balanced synthesis makes ‘Midstate’ a remarkable sonic quandary. Its uptempo synth melody is joined with spacey stabs, and deep, unnerving swells.
"Stutter II," meanwhile, centers on trippy, bright-eyed acid, lifted by a surprisingly tight flex of pummelling kicks, jagged hi-hats and pure, swelling pads. It’s a psychedelic symphony of earnest rhythms and bass, perfect for early-morning smoke and shadows.
Each track on STFM03 has its own subtle but effective drama, sharing a masterclass in esoterically crafted noises. More

Aldonna - Divine Time (Cromby Remix)
Sex tapes from Mars' third release comes in the form of 4 joyous hits of euphoria courtesy of Australian party-starter, Aldonna.
Angel Numbers excitedly bounces and bounds through its tracklist and the numerous blissed-out grooves within it. The EP kicks off with the psychedelic, poem-sampling 'Divine Time' before switching to the driving rhythms and glistening synths of 'Ikigai' (featuring Sam Alfred).
On the B-side, Aldonna dedicates the airy keys and phasing delays of 'Ella' to a friend who encouraged her to keep on dreaming. Finally, Cromby takes 'Divine Time' and reduces it down to its raw elements for clubland functionality whilst still retaining the threads of the originals buoyant tonality.
A love letter to her friends and her self, this is trance music at its most hopeful. Get those hands in the air and smile. More

Muelsa - Pretty Little Monsters
Sex Tapes From Mars second outing into space comes from 28-year-old Parisian, Muelsa, delivering four high-octane club thrillers.
A1 - 'Across The Pampa' is spacious in old school lighting, relying on a deep-set rapidly shifting bassline and carnivalesque sample twangs to lift it to a melodic yet high-energy EP starter. This is the kind of track the could as easily be the last and first record at a party.
'Wild Nights' brings what it states in the title; grizzly low end, tinkering upper keys that shimmer psychedelic. The notes that the first breakdown brings paired with that vintage vocoder will give even the most stush raver goosebumps.
On the flip, 'No Joke (G-Knews Mix)' despite the playful sampling perhaps brings the deepest, if not certainly freakiest cut on the record. It combines elements of NY house with rolling nu-school acid and arduous, bumpy drum work.
To close things off, 'Pretty Little Monsters', further bends b-lines and star-line synth twinkles with a maliciously satisfactory attack on the senses. There are cinematic squeals at nearly every frequency, making for a full-bodied finale to a very well rounded second release on this exciting new label. More
