This feels deliciously fated. Musical soulmates, Cromby is the only person Sally C will go record shopping with. The duo minted their friendship back in 2016, not long after both migrated to Berlin. A friendship forged through shared dancefloors, long hours at the pair’s beloved Bikini Waxx and impromptu B2B sessions, they have a common passion for good times and serious digging. If you want a sense of the genesis of Sally’s label baby Big Saldo’s Chunkers, just listen to the cult-favourite ‘Big Saldo & Cromby Dusty Hip Haus Mix’ that’s lived on her Soundcloud since 2019.
Cromby knows a Chunker that’s for sure. His contribution to the label is elite. Rinsed by the pair all year, it’s supports also include Job Jobse and Bambounou. In January it highlighted Nachtiville, where it was played all weekend long and became an unofficial hype anthem of the festival. A fiercely hunted track I.D ever since, lock this in as one of those catchy Crombyclassics we all love and can’t stop playing (and singing). ‘Pump It’ is an atmospheric roller, a perfect cut for maintaining the energy after the hands-up vibes of ‘House Flava’. ‘Free’ features Cromby’s own vocal debut – “I didn’t realise at the time of writing how fitting the lyrics would be for our times unfortunately,” he shares. Driven by punchy purring bass, it brings plenty of rugged energy with 303 flourishes, while dreamy keys balance things nicely. One for the after-hours.
The EP is rounded out with the wicked hoover-led ‘Best Not Miss’, that transports us back to a steaming Trade dancefloor circa 1997 and is thrilling in every sense. More

Cromby returns to Radio Slave’s Rekids with three-track stunner ‘Skyboy EP’ Following 2021’s ‘Twisted Future’ on Rekids and EPs on Phantasy, Craigie Knowes, and his recently launched Potency imprint, Irish-born DJ/producer Cromby returns to Radio Slave’s label with three fast and chunky club cuts. Across ‘Skyboy EP’, the Panorama Bar regular’s three latest offerings show precisely why he’s one of house and techno's most exciting and dependable prospects. Opening the release, ‘Giddy Up’ combines skippy drums, sizzling pads, and squelchy acid lines for a propulsive club cut. On the flip, ‘Push’ leads with dubby bleeps, rolling low-end, and tripped-out vocal samples for a hypnotic late-night groover. Closing out the B-side is the title track ‘Skyboy’, which sees Cromby draw for emotive synths, trancey leads, and soaring atmospherics, a suitably compelling way to finish another standout EP from the Berlin-based artist.

Following standout appearances on Feel My Bicep, Unknown To The Unknown, and E-MISSIONS, Irish-born DJ/producer Cromby hits Rekids with a four-track EP of crisp techno cuts. The remix on the flip side comes from Hip-Hop super producer gone House lover Hodini who has collaborated with the talented bass player Chez Kerim for this funky workout.
The cover image shot by Achim Valbracht is the start of a new artwork series developed by Tenderpark art director Till Sperrle which revolves around critique of investor-driven architechture that has been dominating Berlin for several decades now. The speciously precious and glittering image displays a normalised and globally standardised kind of beauty but at the same time reveals a strong sense of loneliness.
As always both the mastering and as well as the lacquer cut of this record have been carefully executed by vinyl sound mastermind Helmut Erler at Dubplates & Mastering.

Boronas & Snad set the tone with ‘Affliction,’ laden with haunting synth work, rolling MPC percussion, meticulous backspins and mind bending delays. Fresh off an outing for Yoyaku’s main label, Istanbul duo Bärtaub give a strong nod to the 90s and the cult E- MU rompler with ‘Orbit The Dance Planet.’ Their track fuses bumpy breaks and robotic voices with ghastly chords, a snaking bass groove and of course, one-shots from the Orbit.
Mountain People kicks off the flip side with ‘I Am The Void,’ characterized by shuffled drum grooves and soft chord sequences intertwined with murky, dubbed out stabs. The latest compilation album from COD3 QR is, as always, focused on eclecticism, open-mindedness, divergence and non-conformity, featuring the usual wide range of electronic music, all handpicked by Laurent Garnier and Scan X.
Calibre (Belfast-born Dominick Martin) should need little introduction. A painter, multi-instrumentalist, singer, writer, producer, DJ and general Drum & Bass don, with over 19 albums under his belt, opens up the release in fine style with the dubby "Sump Dub".
French DJ and Electro-Techno composer Seroplexx follows with "Alerte Rouge". Originally from an acoustic background, playing guitar, trumpet, drums, piano and clarinet he soon fell in love with electronic music and discovered modular synths.
There's more Techno in the form of "Timeline" by Costello, a versatile French electronic music producer, artist and DJ known for his cutting-edge sounds and technical prowess. His standout tracks have captured the attention of underground stalwarts as well as mainstream giants.
Heading in a Leftfield direction next is Marcelus with "Forward". Also hailing from France, he impressed early on with releases on DJ Deep's Deeply Rooted House before Tresor came calling. He describes his music as "personal and honest".
Staying with French producers, Subground 3000 delivers some Deep House on "Sound Migration (Lee Trax Garage Remix)" as well as the digital bonus track, "Little Reminder". Heavily influenced by Soul, Funk, Hip Hop, Electronica and Cold Wave, he has previously released on the likes of Frequency Shift, Naeba, Nice & Nasty Records and more.
In a more Detroit style is "Cosmos" by Jim Rivers. Crossing the many bridges between House and Techno, since his Saw Recordings debut back in 2006, he's gone on to release a plethora of music and remixes across notable labels including Intec, Renaissance, Bedrock, Tronic, King Street and Faith.
Hailing from Yorkshire (UK) and Amsterdam (NL), the dynamic duo of Melatron & Ancient Artefact are modern pioneers of the Punk-Electro sound. Melatron brings raw energy and gritty productions, while Ancient Artefact weaves intricate electronic textures to form an electrifying sound on "I Get My Kicks" which closes the vinyl EP.
A second bonus track rounds off the digital package as Oliver Way (EPM's co-founder and Detroit Grand Pubahs' Mr O) and Dany Rodriguez (LINK Audio and LINK Festival creator) join forces again for the melodious Techno of "Third Act".

Altered Circuits' next release comes by way of Bologna-to-Berlin transplant Jacopo Latini. On the Motherboard EP he combines stubby drums and sultry, efficient basslines with richly hued synth work. Once the cuts get going, a tapestry of melody reveals itself: gated leads are accompanied by burbling arpeggios, momentous chord progressions and bright pads that crawl in and out. The patches often incline to the bright and dreamy but are deployed with restraint; in the same vein, concealed and aloof vocal samples get sprinkled in. These techniques - staples for the artist - add an inscrutable quality to his work's mood. It is dance music that feels direct on the surface yet hides more ambiguous emotions underneath. Being a DJ was Latini's first approach to the electronic genres, and it arguably still is his main inspiration - it even occurs he writes tracks with a specific venue in mind. Since starting over a decade ago, and having meanwhile swapped the local Italian stages for the international ones, he has amassed a ton of analogue gear to help him do so. On this occasion, he plugged in his Roland D-50, Moog Sub 37 and microKorg XL, among other favorites, to take on progressive, trance and tech house. "Motherboard", "High Voltage", "It Comes In The Morning", and "Dual Effect" make for a diverse selection but have indeed the same objective: the club floor.
