Rick 8 is Riccardo Falsini who, along with his brother Franco, ran the legendary label Italian label Interactive Test. This was a label that was instrumental in shaping the template of Trance, Techno and Progressive House as we understand it today whilst pushing it into new and unexplored realms. As a result, the Interactive Test banner serves as a mark of quality and, as can be heard in this early release from the label, was a vehicle for releasing music that serves as powerful club tools that also defy any standard and limiting sub-generic convention. These tracks will lead to transcendental dancefloor rites for spiritual growth and abundance with sonics beaming in through cyberspace. Little is known about the origins of this project, grasping the curiosity of many 90's trance diggers, this mysterious EP was originally released in 1994 on the now defunct London based label ITP Recordings. Presenting 3 tracks that dive deep into the trancy electronics of the time, going well into the 8 minutes marker on each track the producer takes the time to allow a pallet of atmospheric qualities to gently grow and layer themselves throughout. Although his released body of work is relatively small, Dirk De Saever's EPs come with a rather unique aesthetic in sound. Once New Beat was established and exploded as a dancefloor craze in Europe, there seems to have been a bit of a flood of attempts at making “a hit” within the style, filter through most of that and you'll eventually land on Dirk's mini catalogue of top grade Belgian New Beat. This 12” is a compilation of De Saever's 3 EPs combined in one, featuring original mixes on the A-side and instrumentals on the B-side. First track comes with a simple synthesized melody that would have been New Beat chart material, but maybe the sampled lyric was too vulgar for radio play, and maybe Dirk didn't care. The kind of track that makes you think you already know it, yet it's still fresh to the pallet. A2 is like the soundtrack to a stroll down a rough neighborhood in the outskirts of Brussels when all of a sudden the drug dealer, obviously too high on his own supply, jumps out from behind a Friet met Maiyonaise stand trying to sell you some kind of illicit candy in rough translation from Flemish to enthusiastic English – take two of whatever it is he's selling and hope for the best. Later that night, in some warehouse after hours party the DJ plays A3 as your bad trip derails into full on nightmarish Belgian waffle brain damage - New Beat at its best. Always cruising around the 110 bpm marker, waiting to see what happens, no rush, nowhere to go, easy does it.

Legendary NYC label Nu Groove presents an unmissable vinyl package spotlighting two celebrated house selectors and their 2023 releases. For the second release of his own Steamy Pizza Box imprint, Italian producer Valerio Vaudano shows us his Italo-house side under the Steamy Pizza Box alias.
The “Vibey” EP is a 5-track release that takes you back to the early days of house music, perfectly blending both atmospheres from the past and elements of modern electronic music.
The A-side kicks off with “Are U Feelin’ It?”, a brilliant 90s flavoured track where groove and dream-house pads coexist flawlessly. From there it continues with ‘Amnesia’, a peaktime house tune in full UMM style. “Oshibori” opens the B-side with its dreamy but catchy atmospheres characterised by oniric pads and a romantic brass breakdown. “Vhs” continues the B-side with a cheerful old school riff, topped with a Lately bass and rolling drums. “Murder” closes the release with its minimal but significant dress: 909, a Juno bass line and a pad borrowed from the Chicago pioneers.

Run by Gabriele and Paolo, Italy based newborn label Sunny Crypt's first output is a reissue of the sought-after "Random Rooms" album by Danish poets and multidisciplinary artists Niels Lyngsø and Morten Søndergaard. Both attending the Literature university in Copenhagen, they were linked at first by a mutual passion and fascination towards music - or rather "sound" - even before unveiling each other that they were writing poems. Niels and Morten started bringing their solo homemade DIY sound experiments together, giving birth to a wide genre-spanning album that ranges from slow tempo mutant disco to folk inspired synth-pop to sound collages and more musical compositions that is fairly complex to put in a precise musical genre box.
First released in 1992 on the same day as their debut poetry collections, Random Rooms should be a house or a flat or an exhibition space that you could walk through and in each room you would come across something new. A fusion of genre and bits and pieces of culture and play.

Early 90s' UK club oriented project comprised by "two young lads that made a record", as innocently described by Mark Lloyd, one half of Deep Pearl together with Mark Robertson. Originally released on mysterious private press label called "Big Apple" based in Croydon (South London). A dancefloor oriented production that seems to transition from earlier acid sounds into more hypnotic early progressive directions, propelled by an established Mediterranean appreciation of its epoch combined with a somewhat naive rawness and energy in the studio, keeping it simple and effective at upper 130's BPM. Clearly the work of someone with veteran status in rave mileage. A-side features dreamy female vocals (courtesy of two other young lads from Germany, at the time, also known as "Air Liquide"), easy to imagine being played over a dusky horizon in Ibiza or an airfield in Suffolk. B-side mix is another peak dancefloor torpedo armed with heavy breakbeat shrapnel, hard to miss - if you know you know - newly re-issued with new artwork channeling Sean Connery memorabilia in acid mode "Hunt for Tie-dye October".

The long awaited official reissue of ‘She Wants’, one of the first UK Street Soul singles originally released in 1985 by The NM Band.

The NM Band was an alias for UK Lovers Rock band Natural Mystic, responsible for a number of hits in the late 70’s and early 80’s most notably ‘Runaway Love’ and ‘Groove Rocking’. They released a string of acclaimed reggae LPs and toured extensively throughout the UK, but by 1985 wanted to try something away from their trademark roots reggae sound. Influenced by the availability of affordable hardware the band set about fusing Reggae and Soul using an Akai Drum machine, Yamaha DX7 and Roland sound module. ‘She Wants’ is one of the forebearers of UK Street Soul, raw machine drums paired with an incredibly soulful vocal from Ashley Sommers. The band created their own imprint ‘Mixdown’ to release the single, but it slipped under the radar, despite strong radio play from Choice FM and the then pirate station Kiss. The 12” is backed with Dub Version ‘She Wants’ (More).

Surya is a project from Rome formed by Joe Casagrande, Matthew Mountford and Roberto Lycke. Born in 1995 with consistent dub roots influenced with breaks and ethnic music samples.
The duo was quite active in the Roman scene in the late '90s, collaborating with clubs like GOA, Brancaleone, MCA and playing with seminal groups like ORB and Loop Guru.
"Wide Tuning" is Surya's first record, an extremely unique debut that goes beyond dance music boundaries. Self-produced in 1997 and released only on cd until now.
