After a storming Soma debut at the tail end of 2017, Cleric returns with the Silent Kingdom EP. This typically intense and raucous new release features an epic VSK remix on the flip. Phantom Limb opens the EP, all guns blazing. Calamitous percussion hammers through as twisted synth hooks tear the speakers with unrelenting drive. Tag X takes on a more hypnotic functionality yet still embodies Cleric's fierce, vigorous energy. Title track Silent Kingdom concludes Cleric's original tracks for the new EP and doesn't let up on intensity one bit. Pervasive rhythmic elements are bolstered by dystopic pads that cleave through the heart of the track creating an absolute killer, peak time cut. The in-form, Berlin based VSK, fresh from his Soma release under Symmetrical Behaviour offers his take on Silent Kingdom; a decidedly gritty affair he retains the deeper elements of the original but certainly ups the severity. Another hard hitting and astute release from one of the UK's brightest talents.

INFO:
With a constant slew of quality releases Jorden Hodgetts has not only become in demand internationally, but keeps holding a vital spot on the Figure roster. His unyielding tracks as Cleric proudly wear their Manchester heritage on the sleeve, and this bold EP makes no exception.
Exploring various angles of the city's musical lineage, Cleric creates a sound scape that seems industrial and yet futuristic. As broken and straight rhythms repeatedly alternate over the course of this record, the mixes implicate both force and elegance, thanks to clever pacing and immaculate sound design.
Whether it be narrow, bleeping stompers, epic wide-screen breakdowns or intricately assembled percussion - across this fresh and dynamic EP Cleric further sharpens his profile, not only revealing his roots but even more importantly his individual vision.

London based artist Cleric originally started sending us over material a couple of years back. As his sound developed and improved more scope was created to start looking at putting together his debut first release on EarToGround. We feel this is his best release to date and have very much enjoyed putting it together.

Cleric is a bit of a mystery guest even for us. A Techno producer with a love for the drones we know so well. A promotor of small underground parties in his home base Manchester - and a Chelsea fan, but not lynched yet to our knowledge. That's about all we know really, so letting the music speak for itself is the key here.Delivery doesn't stand on ceremony and blasts of straight away with a Techno stomper that will make people move for sure. But there's a lot more subtle flavoring underneath the surface: a constant layer of carefully crafted noises that make it a rich, deep sound despite of the dance floor pedigree this track clearly has.The experiment of Wornitz was the first track we actually got to hear, and anyone with a heart for electronic music will feel the repressed threatening power of this tune. Reminding us a bit of Shed-meets-Jeroen Search, this track gets better every single time you take the time to put your headphones on and let it crush you in your seat.On we go to the flip side of the vinyl, where Morose, the most accessible track of the bunch, shamelessly addictive and utterly simple for maximal effect. The break has caused serious damage already to various dance floors that were used as testing grounds.Remix duty can be tricky, but not when one of your ultimate heroes signs on to the project. Boy oh boy, we were over the moon when Dario Zenker agreed to remix a track, and he sure as hell did not disappoint us. He turns Morose into an ultra-dark track that is so hypnotizing at the same time. The melody that comes into the track lifts it far beyond the usual Techno you usually get.As always, Dimitri Andreas polished the entire body to perfection and mastered

Sales Note
Paris-based artist Felicie delivers her first solo vinyl release on Manchester's imprint Clergy.
'Art of Detachment' is composed of four original tracks, focusing on the fusion of hardgroove with an edge of 90's inspired energy, while blurring the line with Felicie's more current fast paced rhythms.
Opening with 'The Halo Effect' strong oldschool vocals and groove-ridden drums, setting the tone for a straight-forward desire to make nothing but dance, with its energetic and punchy stabs.
Followed by 'Shadow Works, a powerful drum work tool weapon where the breakdowns focus on bringing the right tension on the dancefloor, through its questioning yet captivating percussions and subtle melodies.
Through 'Detached', each rhythmic element falls into place giving birth to a deep and driving peak-time oriented dancefloor killer.
Golden Shower closes the EP by blending dynamics drums and celestial chant vocals, cultivating an EP made of four different sonic palettes.

CRG020V1 and CRG020V2 are the vinyl samplers of the mix Cleric made for its 20th release.
To celebrate hitting their 20th release, Cleric's imprint pulls together 23 talents for a various artist mix compilation including tracks from the likes of Rebekah, Cleric, Stef Mendesidis, Remco Beekwilder & Stranger, Endlec, Kwartz, Setaoc Mass, Roman Poncet, Slam and many more.
Clergy has become synonymous with a balance of atmospheric and hard hitting brand of techno ever since 2014. The boss's own music has been key to that, with carefully curated releases from guests such as Dax J, Kwartz, Reflec and Cleric himself. Helping to make the label an underground favourite. "Clergy Visions 01" sees Cleric invite an array on techno heavyweights to contribute to this compilation that's mixed by the label boss himself.
The mix opens up with the bleak ambience and fizzing electric cables of Jokasti & Nek's "Grained" then Sept's "Artifical" lays down a tunnelling techno groove that immediately locks you in. The mysterious alias, Reizemann heads off to a cosmic realm with its deep space pads slowly building the momentum throughout the drums. The energy levels then stay high throughout tracks from Roman Poncet, Kwartz and Setaoc Mass, then leading onto the groove of Stef Mendesidis.
Testament to Cleric's skills as a DJ and sequencer is the fact this journey is constantly evolving while remaining coherent. A mid-section featuring the likes of Endlec, Sleeparchive and EAS keeps you on your toes with perfectly stripped back but hard dynamic drum programming and intense melody work. Remco Beekwilder & Stranger bring a more hard hitting and industrial style before Slam calm the fires once more allowing you to sink into a smooth, elongated roller. It's left to the dystopian darkness of Rebekah and atmospheric techno brilliance of Lerias to close out this most adventurous mix in real style. More

More
A2 Endlec ? Trickster
B1 Remco Beekwilder & Stranger ? No Limit
B2 Stef Mendesidis ? The Secret Agent's Blunder

Thrice is nice for Dimitri the Brooklynite-By-Way-Of-Paris, who comes correct with his 3rd 3-packer of disco edit deelite for RNT! Filling up the A-side is KETTLE AMERICA, a cheeky bit of south-of-the border uptempo disco funk. I KNEAD YOU is a stomping and sermonizing version of a cherished classic, completely redone with a chorus of handclaps and gospel piano, and the record finishes with WITHOUT ROB for some re-touched dancefloor doo-wop gold! The 1974 debut album Ojinga’s Own and single Basa Bongo/Black Pepper by Guyanese Afro-Folk band The Yoruba Singers has been remastered for vinyl and digital.
The Yoruba Singers formed in Georgetown, Guyana in 1971. Despite their name they were not from Nigeria, but identified strongly with the area from which so many of the African diaspora in Guyana and neighbouring regions were originally descended.
The group started adapting Guyanese traditional folk music as well as writing their own - blending a mixture of protest, social commentary, blues, and genres inspired by the times. Beginning with about 12 people sharing vocal duties, most of the early repertoire was inspired by folk songs that started life on plantations or in religious settings accompanied by a few sparse musical instruments.
Integral to the Yoruba Singers’ sound are echoes of Obeah traditions which are very closely related to the Santería religion of Cuba and the Orisha and Shango traditions of Trinidad and Tobago. Calypso and steel-band culture from nearby Trinidad and Tobago was to some extent part of the musical DNA of the group, but they were naturally also influenced by the massive volume of rocksteady and roots-reggae coming from Jamaica.

Track list:
A1. Everything alright feat. Aika Mal
A2. Everything alright feat. Aika Mal (Dam Swindle remix)
A3. Eleven eleven twenty two
B1. Crush
B2. Only breaks can love your heart
Release Info:
Amy Dabbs puts her heart and soul in the breaks anthem ‘Everything Alright feat. Aika Mal’ on her Heist debut EP.
Bonus: A tantalizing 140BPM Dam Swindle remix
Amy Dabbs might be one of the hardest working artists in the game right now. Making it in the current electronic music landscape is not an easy thing, which might be why this talented artist is so heavily invested in her musical output. With releases on Aus Music, Shall not Fade and her own Dabbs traxx, a monthly residency on Rinse FM and a tour schedule that seems to get busier by the minute, we’re happy to see her hard work is paying off. Add to that some support by artists such as Special Request, The Blessed Madonna, Jaguar and Cinthie and you know this Berlin-based artist is right where she belongs: in the spotlight.
With a love for all things high energy – including, but not limited to house music and breaks – Amy knows how to set fire to a dancefloor (or record for that matter). Her music has been described by Resident Advisor as “Elegant and soulful drum & bass, that’ll still catch the ears of house heads.” So here you go, house heads: Amy Dabbs on Heist. The ‘Only breaks can love your heart’ EP is packed with feelgood energy and comes with a Dam Swindle remix that has the duo laying down some pleasantly unexpected breakbeats on an altogether rush-inducing record.
Right from the start, you know you’ve got an anthem on your hands with ‘Everything alright’. The gorgeous vocals by Aika Mal give you that right amount of emotive, ravey energy and come wrapped in a package of solid breaks and mesmerizing chords. With a hint of acid and a couple of meticulously crafted breakdowns you’ll be singing along with this track before you know it.
The Dam Swindle remix drops the tempo a little bit, but with its 140 bpm, warm broken beat and UK bass, the duo delivers a curveball of a track with a lot of crossover appeal. They went for a more stripped back approach that combines introverted percussion with bouncy keys that complement the vocals perfectly for an altogether irresistible remix.
‘Crush’ is a signature Amy Dabbs tracks, with driving 909 percussion, female vocal chops, ethereal pads and classic strings. It’s a warmhearted affair laced with Amy’s feelgood DNA. On the flip you’ll find ‘Eleven eleven twenty two’; a classic deep house track with subtle hints of UKG in its sampling and bass. The pads and leads are moody and the skippy percussion gives this track the kind of energy you’d welcome when pulling an all-nighter.
Rounding off the EP, we’ve got the ep title track ‘Only breaks can love your heart’; another showcase of Amy’s knack to make house aficionados dance to drum and bass. There’s a certain contrast in pace – raging drums versus dreamy chords that makes you feel at ease listening to a fast-paced track like this. The vocals are equally hazy with a subtle 90’s and 00’s RnB feel. Bassface guaranteed on this one!
We’re extremely happy we get to call Amy our friend and proud to share her music through Heist. As always, play it loud and dance, dance, dance!
Yours Sincerely,
Maarten & Lars More

Jonny 5 is known for his superlative edits as well as heading up the Bahnsteig 23 label and here he returns from time out becoming a father to kick off this new one from Duca Bianco. 'Joy riding' is loopy disco-post-punk for a peak-time trip. Multi Culti man Dreems then brings the Afro party vibes with his 'Bususua' which is packed with dub fx and steeped in fun. Miserymix then throws in his Italo-licked post-disco and punk sounds on 'Adjust Your Love' before a big finale by Black Bones. He offers deep and dubby house that has been a secret edit for a while but finally gets unveiled here to great effect as it worms its way into your brain.

Kerri Chandler’s Kaoz Theory unveiled the label bosses ‘Spaces & Places’ LP in 2022, showcasing Kerri’s globetrotting career of the past few decades and featuring recordings produced on the dance floors of many leading clubs such as DC10, Sub Club, Rex, Printworks and more.
Here the label kicks off 2023 with a glimpse into Chandler’s archived material, offering up four cuts in his inimitable, iconic style.
‘Fluff Rehab’ leads the way and see Kerri offering up crisp drums, spiralling dub stabs and fluttering low-end pulsations throughout.
‘What If’ follows and tips the focus over to a more soulful feel, fusing a wandering bass line and airy textures with vocal chants, choppy keys, and a gritty drum groove.
‘Who Are You (Main Vox)’ then opens the B-side, retaining a similarly soul drenched feel, bringing Kerri’s own harmonious vocals into the mix alongside a crunchy, swinging rhythm and jazzy elements.
‘Dem Joy Ride’ rounds out the EP next, flipping the switch to a funk-infused, organic feel as brass lines, hypnotic keys, dynamic drums, and guitar licks collide across an ever unfolding five and a half minutes. More
