hese days, singer-songwriter and actor David Blue tends to be remembered only in relation to Bob Dylan. A member of the supporting cast in mid-60s Greenwich Village and The Rolling Thunder Revue. Yet to categorise Blue in this way is reductionist, and does him an injustice. He was something of an archetype of the 60s generation of Greenwich Village singer-songwriters. Yet, esteemed by his peers, he was overlooked. He released seven albums in a decade, and his acting career was shaping up when he died suddenly at the age of just 41. His passing was barely noted in the rock press, and in the subsequent years Blue was all but forgotten. Of late, though, that’s changed. His albums started to reappear on CD on small labels and, in 2020, both Rolling Stone and Mojo magazines published major reappraisals. Blue – at last – was getting the attention denied him in life.
It wasn’t until 1965 that Blue, as Dave Cohen, released his first recordings – three songs on Elektra’s Singer Songwriter Project. All betrayed a debt to pre-electric Dylan. But then again, so did much else coming out of Greenwich Village at the time. Elektra contracted Blue to do his own album, and in 1966 David Blue was released – his first recording to appear under that name. Electric folk rock with a garage band attitude, somewhat in debt to Highway 61, it didn’t sell well. Shortly after the album’s release Blue formed and toured with The American Patrol, a four-piece rock band, recording an album for Elektra that was never released.
Now, for the first time, Hanky Panky and Mapache release those historical abandoned American Patrol recordings, along with the three tracks included on Elektra’s 1965 LP Singer Songwriter Project, as David Blue And The American Patrol The Lost 1967 Elektra Recordings & More and David Blue, his self-titled 1966 debut album, on two exclusive vinyl editions limited to 500 copies

We couldn't be happier to announce the first Mapache Records compilation after all these years. ONE MILE FROM HEAVEN is a dreamy travel through the 70's and beyond private singer songwriters scene.
There have always been privately-pressed records. Such a "private" LP is an album that has been composed, performed, recorded and edited usually very-DIY style by the very artist or by an amateur label. A private press record is, above all, an act of the artistic urge. It's an act that takes place outiside of the industry out of need, out of a lack of knowledge, out of love, out of a drive, out of ambition... you can choose among the many reasons.
Depending on their genre, origins, time, and above all, quality, some of these efforts have become valuable pieces for the music collector. Having been created behind the "canonical history of music" written by the industry, every now and then an archaeologist will bring to the surface an artifact they have found in some basement or flea market, or that was kept covered in dust in the shell of some old recording studio soon to be torn down.
All these records have their own story, and some are still especially relevant, and others are but small footnotes in the encyclopedia of music that made their way into the margins of the mainstream world. These are the most limited of editions (and mostly locally made ones) of largely unsociable and mostly unobtainable records--and when found, they are often exorbitantly priced. Many of these marginalized and onscure artists have stayed alive only through the wonderful work of tireless song rescuers, music lovers, vocational archivists, collectors, and record labels with an idealistic drive. These romantics have been rescuing and indexing a form of music that very few have showed interest in until recent years. This record is a tribute to all of those who managed to make these songs not be lost to time. Above all, this release is a tribute to all those artists who recorded their songs on their own, mostly because they couldn't keep the music inside themselves.

Clasic debut album by Epic Soundtracks from The Swell Maps.
Collaborations by Lee Ranaldo and Kim Gordon (Sonic Youth), J Mascis (Dinosaur Jr.) , Rowland S. Howard (The Birthday Party) and Martyn P Casey (The Bad Seeds).
Strings arrangements by Henry Olsen.
Insert with unseen pictures and liner notes by Chris Coleman.
“Rise Above is an album that fell through the cracks – in 1992, records by singer-songwriters were more likely to be ignored than they were 20 years before in the early 1970’s or would be 20 years later in the early 2010’s. It was certainly critically acclaimed but unnoticed by the world at large. Time, surely, for these dozen classic songs to be re-assessed." (Chris Coleman)
“Rise Above is a work of pensive autumnal fragility and of such high quality, that it would be a monumental injustice to halt the fresh flow of Epic’s muse.” (Melody Maker)
“One of the “10 Best Albums Of The Year” (Spin)
"A gem out of left field... A bounty of delightfully anachronistic rock tunes here, in league with the best of Alex Chilton." (Billboard)
“...it’s even Mr Soundtracks’ version of Dennis Wilson’s “Pacific Ocean Blue”. People will come across “Rise Above” in ten years’ time and wonder where the hell it came from. For now, here’s the out-of-the-blue album of 1992." ( Select magazine’s Andrew Perry)

Ryo Fukui's 1976 highly sought-after jazz masterpiece SCENERY-
LP Edition: Mastered at half speed, 140g vinyl, Sticker
We Release Jazz (WRWTFWW Records' new sister-label) is proud to present its first release, the official reissue of Ryo Fukui's highly sought-after masterpiece Scenery (1976), sourced from the original masters and available on limited edition 180g vinyl mastered at half speed for audiophile sound and on digipack CD.
Unquestionably one of the most important Japanese jazz albums ever recorded, Scenery reveals Ryo Fukui as a miraculously brilliant self-taught pianist fusing modal, bop, and cool jazz influences for a very personal, dexterous and game-changing take on classic standards made famous by Bing Crosby and John Coltrane among others. From "It Could Happen To You" and its serene and calm intro which magically flows into a jubilant and upbeat piece, to the out-of-this-world piano solo of "Early Summer", or the incredible teamwork of "Autumn Leaves" where Fukui leads Satoshi Denpo (bass) and Yoshinori Fukui (drums) into groove heaven, every single note on the album oozes precision, confidence and flair and every single section slides seamlessly into one another, creating a supreme and elegant blend of jazz. Often compared to McCoy Tyner or Bill Evans, Ryo Fukui was a genius in his own right, a true master of his craft whose perfectionism gave birth to some of the greatest music ever recorded. Scenery is his magnum opus and an absolute must-have.
The Hokkaido wizard-pianist followed Scenery with the soulful gem Mellow Dream (also available on We Release Jazz) in 1977. He then focused on improving his live skills, often performing at Sapporo's Slowboat Jazz Club (which he co-founded with his wife Yasuko Fukui) and releasing 2 live albums. Ryo Fukui sadly passed away in March 2016, leaving behind a legacy of works that is sure to captivate jazz lovers for generations to come.

JEROME BRAILEY funk drummer and former member of George Clinton’s PARLIAMENT
FUNKADELIC is most famous for co-writing PARLIAMENT’s 1976 gold hit single “Give Up The Funk
(Tear The Roof Of The Sucker)". But thanks to poor management, in 1978 he and several other
members mutinied and left the group. That same year Jerome gathered his own crew, dubbed them
MUTINY, and issued two classic funk albums on Columbia Records: “Mutiny On The Mamaship”
(1979) and “Funk Plus The One” (1980). A third album entitled “Black Hat Daddy & The Silver Comb
Gang” was scheduled for release on Jerome’s own label J.Romeo in 1981 but, due to unforeseen
circumstances never saw an official release, although a handful of tracks were included on MUTINY’s
1983 album “A Night Out With The Boys”.
So now, Jerome Brailey & Regrooved Records proudly presents the original mixes and line-up for the
true 3rd and unreleased MUTINY album “Black Hat Daddy & The Silver Comb Gang” More

Release Notes:

SLY & THE FAMILY STONE: One of the most innovative groups popular music has ever known, the
band that instigated a musical revolution! Black and white, male, and female, SLY & THE FAMILY
STONE were the first- and still the most significant - integrated combo in the history of popular
music. Founded in November 1966 by Sly Stone by merging The Stoners with his brother Freddie’s
Stone Souls, this new sound was a unique and unprecedented fusion of Soul, Funk, Rock, R&B and
Psychedelia. Sly himself was a master musician who wrote, arranged, and produced all the group’s
material, fashioning ingenious musical arrangements with a blend of syncopated rhythm, pop
melody, lowdown funk and unorthodox harmony. And he chose the best players in the San Francisco
Bay Area to implement this outrageous musical vision. With the compilation STONE SOUL we are
focusing upon their rarely heard roots and the earliest examples of the style that would take the
music world by storm. This fascinating set includes the complete recordings of FREDDIE AND THE
STONE SOULS, early solo experiments by SLY and ROSE STONE, the very first SLY AND THE FAMILY
STONE studio session that predates their signing with Epic Records, and the tremendous 1968 demo
‘Man Does Not Live’. Also featured are the gospel sounds of THE HEAVENLY TONES, whose members
would provide vocal backgrounds on multiple Family Stone albums and later become known as Little
Sister.

Ghia - Message From The Other Side (Alternative Instrumental Mix)
"Don't Stop" is the third album retrospectively released by Ghia. As the subtitle "Early Works & Artefacts 1984-1987" implies, it features some of their earliest compositions as well as tracks that were recorded during the same period as their "Curaçao Blue" LP.
The album is a fusion of diverse music styles. Listeners will delight in a range of genres, including electro, funk, soul, jazz-funk, synth pop, and even rap/hip-hop, all woven together as a cohesive work that remains mostly instrumental. As a whole, "Don't Stop" represents Ghia's funkiest and most experimental release to date. Notably, the LP features a rap version of Hermann Hesse's controversial German poem "Armer Teufel am Morgen nach dem Maskenball" ("Poor Devil the Morning After the Costume Ball") from 1926, accompanied by a drum machine rhythm and funky guitar. This poem depicts a person who drank too much the night before, telling the story and describing his hangover. The title track "Don't Stop" and the thrilling minimal electro-funk tune "3 A.M. at Moëf Gaga" both evoke old-school electro influences. The latter references the Spanish discotheque Moëf Gaga, located on the Balearic coast, which the dynamic duo of Lutz Boberg and Frank Simon frequented during their 1980s holidays. While the exact music played at 3 A.M. is unknown, listening to Ghia's track will undoubtedly capture the mood of the place.
One of the key tracks of the album is "Message From The Other Side", which could easily be noted as one of the nicest European synth-funk instrumental pieces ever. The track is based on a sick synth bass line, sparkled with DX7 chord hits, funky guitar, and a delightful "marimba" solo in the last third. The solo was actually played on Boberg's keyboard, using a special sound cartridge. This particular track had to be edited and technically revised by Marian Tone and DJ Scientist as the existing demo version of the song could not be used as is. With its stunning groove, this track will surely be a DJ's favorite.
Listening to the complete album, there is more of Boberg's keyboard wizardry: could you believe that the trumpet solo on "Jump In The Water" as well as the short but stunning slap bass solo on "Talk Too Much" were both played by on the DX7? However, this new release, unlike the jazzy "Curaçao Blue", is not about solos or virtuous playing - it clearly shows the duo's direction towards more electronic composition and clear song structures. The versions of "September Garden", "When The Rain is Falling" as well as "Talk Too Much" are actually instrumental mixdowns of vocal songs. And again, we get a blissful take of "Close To You", here a version from 1986. This soulful jazz-funk ballad could already be heard on "Curaçao Blue" while the final vocal version with singer Lisa Ohm can be found on the recently released "This Is" LP. This shows that the Ghia composers, Boberg and Simon, were perfectionists - tracks were reworked again and again, making them better and better.
The album was mastered and restored with great care, and we are pleased to provide you with a perfect example of mid 1980s home-recording pleasures, tinged with a youthful spirit and providing a sound that cannot be recaptured anymore nowadays. Alongside "This Is" and "Curacao Blue" it should be another perfect addition to any 80s groove collection as well as a great pick for DJs that love and play disco, leftfield electro and funk. The LP is limited to 500 copies.

Vacation. A backpack trip through Australia, a campfire in the Schrebergarten. Cruising in the car with friends through the Lüneburger Heide or just a short holiday in the mind, during a rainy lunch break or with a glass of Sprizz on the balcony. And this all includes music, music, music! Grooves which roll like an intercity train into the horizon, Rhodes chords as soft as sand on the beach and synthesizers that sparkle like the reflections on the ocean. Music as colourful as a Hawaiian shirt and as warm as the morning sun.
Welcome to Erobique’s second album “Erobique No. 2”. Here even the song titles are in a holiday mood: “Ahoj!” greets the young “Springinsfeld”. The “Mantas” glide elegantly around the “Acquamarina”. “Salut Les Copines!” we shout to the yacht next to us. “Come on the ‘Ravedave!’” they echo cheerfully. “Riding Low” is the motto while the “Arpeggiator” beautifully condenses the “Synaesthesia” of our dazed senses. The “Italotape” in the cassette deck plays the “Hitsong Von uns Beiden”. It’s all so beautiful “Verkackt”, it sounds like “Zukunftsmusik”!
Carsten Meyer released his debut album “Erosound” in 1998 under the name “Erobique”. Exactly 25 years later, the now 50-year-old releases his second Erobique album on his own label A-sexy. Thirteen diverse tracks ranging from holiday disco to rhythm box rave, recorded and produced with many of his friends and companions. Twenty-five years, that's pretty much the time it took disco to evolve from the legendary loft parties of pioneer David Mancuso to the impressive mass spectacles of Daft Punk's performances, or from Meyer's birth to his first full-length record. So why only now a second album as “Erobique”?
Meyer has been improvising performances for years in front of dancing audiences. Even his hits “Easy Mobeasy” and “Urlaub In Italien” are not pop songs in the proper sense, but were created from spontaneous inspirations, in the adrenaline rush, in the party flow, in the middle of the moment! Sung along and fallen into oblivion at the same instant. Recorded live and there you go! Don't look back! Every Erobique concert is an attempt to build the unforeseen, failures and accidents into a unique moment of being there. “Fehler Ist King” once said the witty Knarf Rellöm - and Carsten Meyer is the King of Errors!
How are you supposed to conjure up such moments in the studio without a party, without the energy that spills back onto the stage on such a children's birthday for adults? Meyer remembered another Erobique hit and changed its title accordingly: He collaborated with an overdose of joy! Drummer Lucas Kochbeck (The KBCs, Bacao Rhythm & Steel Band), who now also supports Carsten in his live gigs, as well as neighbour and buddy Christoph M. Kaiser, (former bass player with The Jeremy Days, now film music and pop strategist) laid the groove foundation with shining tiles, like once at Trinity, Hamburg's legendary 80s disco. Sophia Kennedy came by to sing from the neighbouring studio and Lieven Brunckhorst dragged the whole brass set of Jan Delay's big band Disco No1 in front of the microphone.
Meyer recorded harps, xylophones and violins in his music room at the Hamburg Fish Market or with Tobias Levin in his Electric-Avenue Studio with Fleet View. In Berlin Carsten finally met up with his hero Siriusmo to spin some ideas through the electronic shredder. Nicola Rost stopped by and delivered some unbelievably dense choirs and wonderful songs. Finally, all tracks were sent to Ludwigsburg in Swabia, where Freundeskreis-DJ and disco expert Martin Welzer alias DJ Friction added an incredibly warm and dancefloor-friendly overall sound to the whole madness.
Now for the drawing board: The cover artwork is, like in all A-sexy publications, painted and designed by Meyer himself. After all, his original career was being a schoolbook illustrator.
In the course of one summer a musical box of chocolates was created, which not only enriched the holiday playlist of its fans and listeners, but also made Meyer’s several quantum bytes deep archive of ideas and sketches a little thinner. Outside his disco services, everywhere and nowhere, Meyer has not remained idle in the last quarter of a century.
In the years from 1998 to 2006 he developed ultra-modern electronic soul with DJ Koze and Cosmic DJ as International Pony. Together with Jacques Palminger and Chris Dietermann he supervised amateur songwriters making pop music in the project “Songs for Joy” at the Maxim-Gorki-Theater Berlin. In 2007 he created the secret hit “Wann Strahlst Du?” with the great lyrics by Barbara Stützel. Speaking of theatre: For theatre director Herbert Fritsch he arranged the hits of Gino Paoli and Hugo Wolff for overcooked evenings at the Schauspielhaus Zürich (2016) and the Residenztheater Munich (2015), for Stefan Pucher he put Hans Christian Andersen's fairytales through the home organ mill (2010).
For his colleagues at Studio Braun, he brought the “Dorfpunks” to life at the Schauspielhaus Hamburg, and immediately afterwards he developed the authentic new wave sound for their mockumentary “Fraktus”, which was released in cinemas in 2012. So this is film and TV music. Here, too, Meyer has had a lot to do in recent years. The soundtrack for the popular TV series “Der Tatortreiniger” with Bjarne Mädel in the title role probably was the best one.
By the way, the “Tausendsasa” (= ‚jack of all trades’, quote Peter Bursch) also released several albums on his own label A-sexy: Rumple Funk as “Babyman”, finest chanson-pop with Palminger and Yvon Janssen for “Yvon im Kreis der Liebe” and warm, modern Hammond-Jazz with the “Hamburg Spinners”. And now finally his anniversary album, the silver wedding with himself. 25 years of Carsten and Erobique, together forever and happy as never before! Here's to the next. . . no, stop it! We don't want to wait that long! More

Sound Support - The Rock
Tracklist 12":
A1) Higher
A2) Bump Into You
B1) Work 2 It
B2) The Rock
Release Info:
Toy Tonics presents a new producer team: Sound Support consists of two enthusiastic synth and house aficionados that everybody knows (in the scene): Lars Dales from Dam Swindle and Lorenz Rhode (keyboard wizard and producer genius).
Together they are doing extremely groovy, jazz infected dance music that connects the good things of 1990ies house with the indie disco of the 2000s.
Lars Dales & Lorenz Rhode connected through their mutual love for all things musically unusual. After years of having worked together on several projects, such as the Dam Swindle live show, they finally got around to making music together. The result has been nothing less than an avalanche of tracks, mostly made in 4 day coffee fueled studio sessions in Lorenz’ studio in Cologne. All reminding the big funk house tracks of the early 2000s. Yes a lot of Daft Punk is here, A lot of NYC disco influences. Larry Levan and Laurent Garnier, DJ Harvey and Masters at Work.. all influences on this record.
After their first two Sound Support EP’s on Prins Thomas’ label, Internasjonal, they’ve ventured out to House of Disco and other labels with a wide array of immensely enjoyable synth heavy tracks. 2023 sees these two venture more into house territory with releases on AUS music and Toy Tonics, two labels that have cemented themselves deeply into the underground scene. In any case, it’s clear that Sound Support have found its signature sound and there is much more of that to look forward to. Toy Tonics is the key label for the wildstyle house scene and Sound Support fit perfectly. Welcome!

Argentinian producers Oscean return to Tresor with Chronium Radiance, their longest release so far, in which the duo continue the evolution of their sound, coalescing the elemental ideas explored in their first two releases and yielding sublime results.
This landmark release will no doubt be seen as the point at which Oscean crystalised a trademark sound, balancing complex percussive rhythms with pulsing and cadenced music in which a universe of often oxymoronic ideas can be found, melded together with a deft touch to create a blissful sonic whole.
There is a sense of space and airiness to side A of the record as synth parts drift across the more solid-feeling landscape of the basslines and percussion: Opening track ChronoRebel is a propulsive trance induction that brings forth cinematic images of billowing clouds. This nebulous quality is continued on Neon Harmonies where the highly syncopated drum track weaves through a haze of colourful synths that while lower tempo than the previous track somehow has an energy of a faster piece.
The flip side has a denser, darker quality to it beginning with Blaster Imploder, a deep and funky track that continues the convention-defying theme by being powerful and frenetic whilst also having a soft and exultant sheen. This is followed by Echoes of Chaos which closes out the 12” with a dynamic beat and spacious, sweeping synths that feel as though we are passing through the atmosphere heading towards some distant nebula.
Alongside the tracks on the vinyl release, three digital tracks expand on the universe Oscean have built with a truly ecstatic love theme, a retelling of Neon Harmonies that unveils a river of dub, and a low tempo, drifting yet no-less affecting piece acting as the closing titles to our voyage to this Osceanic world.
