A lush 90s vibe haunts this first offering by new Parisian talent Voiron, but not one of simple nostalgia - one of real class. The glittering layers, futuristic architecture and spaceship motions of opener "Radime" bear the true density of some early Warp and Reflex classic productions. One doesn't need to go any further to feel that the sleek skyline and mental landscapes Voiron draws here might be the natural extension of those started by Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works or even 808 State's Hacienda dance cuts. "Channel 5"'s wise chords and vintage drum pads only confirm that lineage, and so does "Zenzone"'s acid-tinged electro. It takes a reshaping of the EP's main theme by American producer Fred P to digress towards soulful deep house territory. All that makes Radime a new strong number in the Concrete Music catalogue, and a charismatic statement for young producer Voiron, who's already supported by modern house heavyweight Photonz and several big names on the Paris club scene

After having spent most of his time with ‘House To The People’ Voiron decided to dedicate himself to his solo project. Being a fan of the 'braindance' scene and the Reflex & Warp records of the early years, Voiron tries to follow the footprints of his idols (AFX, Dopplerefekt, LFO, Global gon). All these influences lead him to produce an electronic music uninhibited from zero to one milliard BPM.This is with the support of artists like Photonz (One eyed Jacks) and meetings with his cyber friends - Minimum syndicat, Le Matin, Daxyl, Glass Figure - that Voiron was encouraged to produce music 2 years ago. Releasing his last EP on Concrete Music and the following one on Cracki Records in April, you will have difficulty avoiding him and his TB clone in a near future.

It's a pleasure to see MOY back on AF. Sure, Jonny doesn't invent anything, but everything he does sounds incredible and his tracks have the ability to grab you and never let go. Not much to say on this one, Mattias Ostling aka Rolando Simmons is back on AF. You should know what you're in for: undeniably beautiful acid stuff, somewhere between propulsive and melancholy, lush but fidgety 4/4 beats...'Terrestrial Ultra-Doula EP' is a 4-track adventure that deftly dabbles in rave, IDM, techno and beyond in classic RS style. In his own words "Every completed project is the failure of an original idea and the triumph of a successful adaptation. These tracks were inspired by a dream and my subsequent reflections on it. Playing music for others is an act of alchemy that can alter thought patterns and life paths to varying degrees. It is a formidable power to wield." Ostling is one of those artists who works in a specific continuum but adds his own touch here and there--and when it comes to reverb-drenched, acid-lashed, wound-up IDM pitter-patter, not many can do it as well, or as elegantly, as this.
